This drama started out so promising. I loved the chemistry between the main couple. They were too cute for words for the first six -eight episodes. I loved the interaction and blooming romance. But the drama really went downhill after the halfway point. It turned into a melo melo, and not the cute noona romance I was first sold on. The heroine was so annoying and made one stupid mistake after another. It was like she was trying to sabotage the relationship by episode 12. The ending was just so unsatisfactory, with the last two episodes seriously depressing me. Overall, I liked half the show. Loved the cutie main lead. But would never watch this one again!

More a slice of life drama than a romance

This was one of the most anticipated BL dramas that I wanted to watch in the past year. The story, and the actors that would be playing the parts, really intrigued me. The storyline that involves organ transplantation, specifically the heart, is not a new idea, but it certainly hasn’t been overdone either. There were many parts of the drama that lived up to my expectations. The acting, the cinematography, the dilemma in the story of someone else’s life being sacrificed for your own. And overall I really liked the themes that were presented of camaraderie , family, friendship and living a simple contented life.

However, to call this a romance....is a little generous. I would call it bromance more than anything. I did not feel romantic chemistry between the main couple, though they had good acting chemistry. I know it may be petty, but I was extremely disappointed to not get any kind of affectionate overtures from them until the last episode. And until the last minute they didn’t even kiss each other! Now I understand culturally there is a difference in how romantic couples may show their affection. As well as the characters personalities. But you also have to sell me on some kind of physical attraction in order to believe that these two seemingly heterosexual man all of a sudden are romantically interested each other and want to spend their life together. I would be interested in reading the book and seeing if it differed in this way. Maybe they were trying to keep it rated “G” in order to appeal to a larger audience on television?

That said, I don’t feel like I wasted my time watching it. The child actors were very good and adorable. I liked the themes and the general storyline and how one can change their life for the better. But I would not watch this again, and I definitely would not recommend it to someone as being a romance. It’s more like a slice of life drama.

I liked the maturity that was brought to this BL. Our main couple actually kissed, had sex, but respected each other and seemed to have genuine affection. Yet they worried about real things that college students worry about. As usual, the music in a Thai BL leaves much to be desired, often ruining the mood. But thankfully even that was a bit toned down for this show. I didn’t love the way all the couples ended, but I supposed that’s realistic. I would rewatch this one right up there with Together With You.

This drama has a bit too much cheating for me. But the friendship between G and T had me staying. It remained constant throughout all the other men. In the end loyalty and honesty brought the two best friends together. If you can make it past episode 16 it’s worth it. It ended up being a sweet story! The acting so-so, but the men were hot and nice eye candy, so that made up for it. Plus G’s idealistic but hopeful view of finding love inspired me in this jaded world. You never know where you’re going to find it!

Train Wreck

I watch this based on a review on this website, I believe it was an article about Lakorn’s to watch. It started out with some promise, even though the arrogance of the main lead was almost more than I could handle. I figured once he fell in love with the female lead that he would get his comeuppance. No. He was in sufferable the whole 16 episodes of the drama. His immaturity, arrogance, pouting, forcefulness....I really can’t understand why the female lead “fell in love” with him. Maybe it was the dimples. I will give him that. The redemption that we were supposed to feel as character development didn’t come until basically the last episode. And even then it wasn’t believable to me. And the female lead became just as insufferable as him halfway through the series. I think it had some good potential as a story, that’s why I rated the story itself as a higher. But between the punching, slapping, women fighting, men grabbing wrists, forced sex, it was probably the most cliché and bad representation of a Lakorn that I have ever seen.

Very underdeveloped with a typical BL ending that leaves things up in the air and pretty unsatisfying. Plus the version I watched seemed to have cut out all the intimate scenes. I’m not sure if they edited the movie that way, or if Winspedia (the translators) did. But cutting those scenes of intimacy also cut out part of the story and left me feeling like I was missing something of the emotional intimacy between the characters as well. Overall I just felt board and unfulfilled. Could’ve been a really good story too, how disappointing.

Should be titled “Fated FairyTALE Lovers”

This was a unique drama that I’m surprised was even allowed to air in China, considering its themes and lack of propaganda. Probably next year it will be banned, so watch it now while you have the chance! I liked the main lead and his struggle with his “evil” side. I don’t think the other side was really evil, so much as obsessed with his former love. Johnny’s acting was believable and I felt the chemistry with the female lead, though other reviews have not. I think you have to get past the first maybe 6-8 episodes before the female lead stops being as annoying and you can start believing in her character. Overall the acting was better than most cdramas, the story had a good ending, the production and effects held up well, and it kept my interest all 35 episodes.

except for it’s length (which was too long for the storyline to be supported) this was the closest to a kdrama that I have seen in a cdrama. The opening credits and songs were creative and catchy, the humor and premise as well were much like a kdrama. The beginning dream setup did not follow through to the end, unfortunately. It ended up getting bogged down in corporate politics and revenge. which was *yawn*. Especially when the “bad guys” were sooooooo obvious in the beginning. With intense stares and stuttering lies. How could anyone even be fooled?!? They ended up being caricatures up to the end. The romance and cuteness is what saved this drama for me. But it could’ve been half the episodes and less corporate takeover for my satisfaction.

The female lead was beyond irritating in this show. She was so dumb and I guess they were going for “cutely awkward”, but they missed the mark. I hung around for the unique storyline and main male lead. He’s such a good actor! Without him and the unique plot, I would give this a “5”. Make no mistake though, there’s a lot of plot holes and it was too rushed the last few episodes, not to mention the airport problems and how security dealt with them were downright unrealistic and even irresponsible and dangerous. It would make me nervous to travel in this airport if that’s reality. Really wish I could rate this higher, but I think my “6” is generous enough. I wouldn’t rewatch this either.

So first off, people need to stop being so woke and enjoy this for what it is, a fictional story. Yes, it had dark themes and hateful speech and bigotry. But not without reason. The reason? To show that someone’s strongly entrenched views CAN change with love and understanding. Type hated gays because he felt a victim of one (that was actually a pedophile). Because he never dealt with the trauma it colored his view on a whole group of people. Tharns patience and love showed him that a bad person or two in a group of people doesn’t make them all bad. It was a good parallel for Tar, who also was a victim of rape. Tar hated himself though, instead of a group (or men). This drama showed the emotional trauma and PTSD one can have from rape. Did the story treat it perfectly, and everyone’s reactions perfectly? No. But I think that that’s the point in the way. Nobody is going to go through a trauma like that and think politically correct on how they should respond. And the same for someone who is dealing with a loved one who has gone through that trauma. A lot of it is reactionary. Tharn didn’t always deal with Type the right way. Tars brother Tum did not always deal with him the right way either. But in the end their love and acceptance of that person is what helped heal them. The drama is not without some flaws, like stereotypes, and acceptance of things that are wrong. My major concern was the fact that Lhong was never held responsible in a legal way for his actions. But I’m sure that there’s a lot of people who do things like that that never have to pay for it lawfully. But in a way Lhong was in pain and the suffering he felt from losing Tharn forever. Sometimes this happens in real life too; we never really get to see the justice that we think someone should have to experience. Overall the chemistry between Tharn and Type, the theme of being a survivor, the genuine love, and the friendship of Type and No makes this a solid BL drama for me that I will watch again!

This drama IS a tad over the top. Its characters are very expressive and comedic, with a story line that was farfetched. However, it cracked me up AND made me feel for the characters at the same time. Shin Sung Rok was great as the male lead. I’ve only seen him play villians, so this was a nice departure for him. Plus Ha Jae Sook finally got to take a (semi) lead role as the plus sized love interest, which was refreshing. Now here’s for the some what controversy nature of the story… She’s plus sized but uses this perfume to magically transform into not only a thinner version of herself, but a younger version of herself. So unfortunately it plays on the fat tropes and ageist aspects of Korean society that many of us in Western society don’t exactly appreciate in this politically correct society. But I did note that for a Korean drama, they weren’t as bad with the fat jokes as I thought they would be. Don’t get me wrong, there were fat jokes. But I think it’s the way that they handled them within the story and with the character, while still maintaining her dignity as a person and the respect that the love interest still had for her despite her weight. In fact, besides physically noticing a difference in her weight when he was lifting her, it seems like her being plus sized was not really ever an issue for him as far as loving or respecting her went. His biggest problem was feeling torn that he thought he loved “two “ people, the skinny version of her and the older fat version of her. Because apparently weight gain and 20 years will make you look that radically different in the face that people don’t recognize you're the same person. Again there was a bit of unbelievability in the plotline. Overall I was satisfied with the drama though, the comedy aspects and the romance aspects. Even the ending was satisfying because she stayed real to who she was and didn’t magically revert back to a younger thinner version of herself. I liked the character growth and the fact that he loved her truly for herself, which would be the her now not the her from the past. It’s definitely worth watching, I probably won’t watch it again. But it wasn’t a waste of time and I would recommend it

Here’s the thing, this drama did the gay love story a good solid in that it didn’t treat it as the obstacle to the couple that your typical boys love type of movies do. The story was more about finding a killer and learning to move on and not hold on to anger and revenge. I don’t really think the title “Trapped” fits. There wasn’t really any part of the plot that involved trapping someone using love. But I can get past the title of the movie because the characters were so cute. Tang Yi was smexy (his acting was only so-so though, boy can’t fake cry worth a thing), Shou Fei was the most adorable male lead EVER (I couldn’t get enough of his expressive face!), and Jack was just too much (very expressive and mischievous). I had very strange editing choices at times that didn’t explain parts of the plot. And I felt like the last two episodes were extremely rushed and managed to fit in a few minutes of fan service to cover up the fact that they had too much story for 10 short episodes (on VIKI). I’m sort of left feeling like I didn’t get a complete meal and it was taken away from me before I finished the last few bites. I’m not starving but I’m not quite full either. It’s a frustrating end to the series that I was waiting weeks and weeks to finish before I watched it. Overall I’m still happy that I watched it, but it wasn’t quite as good as I hoped it would be.

So I want to start off by saying that I would love to be able to give this drama a higher rating. But something just never quite clicked for me. While I love the chemistry between the actors as an ensemble, and the main leads, the story itself left me wanting. It just sort of plateaued. I actually had to take a break from it and watch another drama because I would get bored. Yoo In Na was great. I loved her character and charm. But Lee Dong Wook just fell really flat for me. His character had cute moments, but like the story, he was kind of...boring. Meh. When I look back on this drama I will probably not really remember much of it at all. Except for the cute sound Effexta that they had throughout the series, and Yoo In Na. That’s it. I think I’m generous giving it to “7” overall.

Sexy Hot...Mess

So this is campy, like everyone says. And it also has some continuity and acting issues. HOWEVER, starting from episode 8 its a SEXY mess. So you have to go into accepting that it won’t be the best BL you’ve ever seen, nor will it be the most politically correct. But it shows probably more passion and affection than I’ve seen in most, even TharnType. I think Filipinos know how to do it! ;) Plus the couple seem like they would be a genuine real couple. I can imagine a Season 2 taking place 10 years later and these too would have their puppy children and interfering in-laws and 10th anniversary party with chaos ensuing. Then later they would have sexy time ;) and that song by Paul Ramirez?!?!? I LOVE it!! Downloaded it from itunes and can’t stop playing it!!

I don’t really know where to start with this drama. I am used to these type of Thai BL dramas having inexperienced actors. So that wasn’t even the part that bugs me most. But incontinuity in the story, the poor editing, the bad sound in many places, all made for an overall unsatisfactory experience. The description of this show is also deceptive. I wish the characters were as engaging as it was made out to be. But they were pretty bland. So many things didn’t make sense with the story. Characters would go back and forth with their decisions without any explanation. This is where I think the poor editing may have played a part. The only reason I give this a 6 rating was the somewhat positive message it gave on love, despite gender. The main character Mork seemed to especially have no problem with loving a guy (except for not wanting to be intimate with him, which was weird...). I think it was more about overcoming family objections.
