I saw her as one solitary character. She's different from all of the characters in Joy of Life. Like she's her own kind.
She's knowledgeable but not scheming. She has no specific objectives before met FX, but also not let herself fall into FX objectives.
Kind of breeze of fresh air after surrounded by either super smart schemer (I am genuinely exhausted trying to second guessing their action and intentions in every single episodes 😹 although it's fun!). Yet, she neither fool like Guo Bao Kun, naively direct like Ye Ling Er, Childish but talented like Fan Is Zhe, nor 100% devoted like RuoRuo. She gave her faith in FX but not deaf or denial about him and directly confront him when she has a doubt (like when she suspect him murdered her brother).
She could be a schemer as well, but she choose not to.
I feel like seeing an audience enjoying people around her playing on the stage with popcorn 🍿 on her lap.

The thing people missed about Wan'er's Character is that 'She is a Princess'
Wan'er might have grown up adored and sheltered, but she grew up surrounded by great schemers. From her mom, her dad, the princes, the emperor, her granny, and even her seemingly brute late brother is a competent man himself.
Maybe because she didn't have many scenes or badass power and played a seemingly Marie Sue kind of character and their love story in the beginning was absurd teenage like 😂
But more than once, she proved that she too can read beyond the surface. With her silence, she accommodates FX to do his business and offers him absolute faith and, a distraction-free environment. She knew she was ill and physically weak. So by not putting herself into unnecessary trouble and living her life as always, she knew how the world works. The 12 Ep proved it even more with what she elaborated to the 2nd prince.
Come on! To make those royal schemers genuinely care for one illegitimate daughter of a not-so-loveable old princess needs a skill!!!

Yeah, especially when I desperately wants more but my Mandarin is half cooked. At least I can grasp the basic, although not thoroughly and rewatch it the next day with good sub, along the way I could see more details I missed on the first watch

I think I need to live, healthy, and thrive for at least the next ten years to finish all Joy of Life series lol 😅

I suspect WuZu went to follow Fang Si Zhe or something like that. I didn't read the half of the novel because I was impatient and go straight to the end 😅 don't worry, FSZ survive in Beiqi and became FX major financial source

If I were the filmmaker, I wouldn't use XZ either. Despite his fame rn, he's a risky actor. XZ indeed could bring viewers with him but JoL didn't lack it. JoL fans waiting for its 2nd season almost like a cult 😅
XZ's acting is decent but his fans are extreme. Actors/Actresses with extreme fans are hard to handle because in many cases, they need to be the centre. The fans want their actor to be the centre. Yet that's not the point of this drama. We watched the story developed through FX's perspective but not even FX is the only thing in the story. Therefore, it makes XZ too risky for such drama but fits perfectly for idol drama.
Except if XZ is extremely talented with a wide-acting range like nowadays Wang YiBo or Leo Wu for example. They have a huge fan base, YB even has some toxic fans too 😅 but at least his acting is wonderful and makes up for the risk. But even though XZ was acting well, his acting range was limited.

How if this novel reader only managed to jumped on the end? I read the beginning(S1) and the ending only 😅 the book is soo long I can't bear the wait 😂 sorry cant help

Only for this drama, I've been re-learning Mandarin for the last two years. I hope it helps to give me more Joy while while watching the second season of this drama 😂

Because you like KSH and for the first 2/3 episodes the story is satisfyingly build his character foundation as if he would be the male lead, in fact I was convinced so despite not knowing who was KSH back then. Only to feel robbed because the girl, obviously, falls for the ml, which actually fine as long as the ml have his own strong arc like HJP (KSH's character) and not using HJP foundation in the beginning as if it's his own and make me feel like a clown 🤡
I didn't want to spoil it too much but to put into consideration, the fml reason to fall in love with the ml makes you questioning her logic and sanity 😂

I wish he just happy with someone else better than all of them. None it that story deserve his kindness

It's not about individual personal opinion, but because the writer built the story in a strange way. They give a solid foundation for the sml but not ml. So most of the audience like me that watched the story without any expectations, not knowing who is Kim Seon Ho to begin with(not NJH hardcore fans either) feels awkward. We thought Han Ji Pyeong was the ML and the story built in the way support our hypothesis until 3-4 episodes and suddenly he's not! And the transition from HJP to NDS not that smooth either 😒

If you ended up watching it, I guarantee that you'll ended up grumpy all day long by the time they reach the mid story
