I haven't seen all episodes yet, but I couldn't resist skipping to the last episode. (I haven't the extras yet). I feel it's a good and realistic ending.

He didn't in the novel. In the novel the twins were also separated. I guess they kept that part of the storyline :)

Okay, in that case I didn't miss it indeed. I had seen their reunion. I'm still surprised it was a year after, since they were both sent there, but oh well.....

I absolutely ADORE Emperor Wen Di. It was so hilarious to watch him in this series!

Yeah, the sequel that is listed above apparently is part 2 of the series. I guess that's because of the new rules about the length of a series?
I'm not up to speed with the episodes at the moment, I've only just started episode 14.
I guess they're doing a slow-burn... as in REALLY slow-burn.
Although I do feel they both are already showing some things, but not that much yet.

The flower business is also the heart of the novel for the greater part at least. I haven't finished the novel yet, I'm at chapter 265 of the 367, but still her flower business is very important in the novel. So it's quite logical it's important in the series as well.

Just like you, I do like that it's not like a "Damsel in Distress" in the series.

You'll love it! It may be long, but it's a good series.

Oh, I'm just watching episode 11 and I really HATE Wang Qing! He's such a despicable man. and that friend of his who stole Qin Shenh Yi's purse! I really hope they meet a terrible end!

Hmmm, with a sequel already announced (apparently, at least it's suggested in the above information), I wonder if they're going to "split up the novel". In a way of sorts, because the series is quite different from the novel in a lot of aspects.

What are your takes on that?

True. I like both the novel and the tv series. I can see why they had to changed it so drastically. It does feel good, though.

There is WAY too much to even begin to state the differences. I'm at chapter 97 and let's just say they've brought so much more drama into the series. I understand why they did it, though.
But the list of differences is just way too long to sum up. :)
