Since I am tired of VegasPorsche teaming up and running away each time together, can we get KinnPete teaming up too? I need it, I mean I would not even mind if they end up together too IN THE NOVEL ONLY THO cause VegasPete in the series have my heart.
Vegas' character in the series is complex in a fascinating way. I love the little yet important changes they made, they added more depth to his character while humazing him at the same time.
Vegas can be ruthless, manipulative, cold-hearted, cruel and violent but he can be tender, passionate about love, loving , gentle, kind and caring. Considering his upbringing it is no surprise that he can turn cruel. The world they live in is dangerous, full of enemies, violence, traitors, personal gains and murder. Vegas just follows the rules of that world. He is out there plotting against the enemy, setting the foundation and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He considers others either as enemies or pawns to use to execute his plans. That way is easy for him to disconnect emotionally from everyone and have no strings attached to anyone. Everything he does serve the purpose of gaining his father approval. That does not mean that his heart is made of stone completely, his sensitive side is hidden deep within and only few people have the privillege of witnessing.
Pete at first was no more than a toy, a pawn of the enemy that ruined his plans. That is why he did not treat him any differently from others. He tortured him and humiliated him, but soon enough he realized that there was something special about Pete. Pete managed to see beyond Vegas' exterior and made his way to the sensitive side of Vegas. Vegas found love in the most unexpeted place when it was not his intention for things to turn this way. In the novel it seemed he was more desperate to fill the void inside of him, he genuinely liked Porsche because he found some resemblance between them concerning their protecitve sides towards their brothers. Vegas in the novel might hold on to the tinniest thing or hope in order to find acceptance, in order to find someone that will accept that broken and sick side of his. Vegas in the series is different, he is not actively looking for love, the possibility of falling for anyone let alone his pawns does not even cross his mind. All his actions are part of his schemes and the only love he seeks is that of his father.
That is where Pete comes in and turns everything upside down. Pete made Vegas realize that he does not need his father's approval and shattered his reality. Vegas found understanding and acceptance in the place he least expected it. He found it from his prisoner that served as an emotional outlet. It was the first time he developped postive feelings towards another person, and not just any person , but someone that in his eyes was only a toy at first. The fact that he did not seek out for love and it happened to him so suddenly is what makes me consider that Vegas' feelings towards Pete are genuine and really strong. He came to love Pete as a person, especiall after he was able to get an insight on Pete's real thoughts and inner emotions. At first he was too immersed in his happiness to notice Pete's state of mind. But once the truth came out, Pete's words hit too close to home for him and he ended up not only relating to him, but acknowledging the fact that Pete is an actual human being with emotions. His purpose is not to please anyone and after accepting that fact, Vegas started putting Pete's feelings above his own needs, because Pete is the person he fell in love with and pierced his heart the way no one else ever could.
''Vegas series could never hurt Pete like this'' and I agree but what if he does? There were moments that Kinn and Kim disappointed us in this season and if VP is the focus of the next season they will most likely add angst. Add angst if you like BOC but please do not make Vegas abandon a wounded Pete alone in a warehouse. That is so out of character.
