Sorry that you got triggered, it wasn't my intention.I think Bite Me is a great cooking series, like really...only…
It was a joke, LOL, don't take it seriously! You've done a great job compiling this article, so thank you for the effort :)
But no, Bite Me really is that bad - not even the slo-mo cooking shots could save it. I think the reason I stuck around to the end (watched it while it was airing, too!) was for the misery everybody was expressing in the comments, LOL.
I liked the visuals of TSS... but the science behind basically everything happening is non-existant. For me, in a movie/drama that says it's scifi there HAS to be at least moderately-accurate science. And TSS didn't care for that... *sigh* SK is great at horror and supernatural, but hasn't found a stride yet in actual scifi. There's time though :D
UGh IkrThe first few minutes into the ep and I was wishing for the white truck to come plowing through the room.…
I'll bet both of them - SP and Qian - immediately thought about sex. That's what spooked both of them. OMG, the little brother grew up and now wants to have sex with Qian!!
UGh IkrThe first few minutes into the ep and I was wishing for the white truck to come plowing through the room.…
At the same time, Yuan was also part of the family for a long time, and SP knows how much Qian does care for him. He's taking Qian side totally and leaving Yuan outside the circle at the same time, as if they couldn't just give it a bit of time and discuss it like grownups (because Yuan is hurt but he's not a child any more). Instead, it's all basically "BATTLESTATIONS!! ENEMY SIGHTED!" kind of, and Yuan definitely sees himself pushed to the outside.
If SP cared for Yuan too, a little bit, he'd have had more empathy and tried to mediate between them two. That's what makes me not like him, after last ep, when I actually felt he's the best friend ever (to BOTH of them).
For a cooking drama, do not - I repeat, DO NOT - go to Bite Me with any sort of expectations. Of any kind. It's the worst cooking drama (and I tend to think of any genre of drama) I've ever managed to sit through in the vain hope SOMETHING will eventually happen. Nothing happens. It's a soul-killing slo-mo amazingly bad nonsense story. If you can call it a story. The ML get a schizophrenic change of personality in the middle of the plot and even THAT doesn't manage to make it better or at least more interesting. Don't do this to yourself. You'll just be hurt in the end.
If you really want a cooking drama (or about chefs, at least), better watch Wok of Love instead. It still has its silly out-of-this-world drama-localised coincidences and lucky strikes, but at least it's well acted and it goes somewhere.
Also, for a space drama (or astronaut profession) - also for your own good, don't go to The Silent Sea. While the cast is great and the SFX are amazing, the quantity of anti-scientific facts and incidents is amazing too. There are basically two astronauts in total involved, and even they forget how gravity works at times, not to mention the deep mysteries of how even safety pressure doors work. In a space station. During an emergency. Those are not astronauts I'd send anywhere... The production team spent so much time on whether they COULD show those great SFX when they should have considered a lot if they SHOULD have. I don't want to go into too much because spoilers... but for a drama I'd had highly anticipated and did manage great shots of the space station and all... Even the movie The Moon (which also forgets about actual physics) does it better (not great by any measure, just better than TSS).
Better watch Space Sweepers instead - it's not pretending to be a scifi or about actual astronauts and all, just a explodey space opera that wants to entertain you. It's entertaining, even if not really original. But at least they're more honest about it...
UGh IkrThe first few minutes into the ep and I was wishing for the white truck to come plowing through the room.…
I seemed like he suddenly felt the need to PROTECT Wei Qian from Yuan, as if he was going to attack him out of the blue or something. I could FEEL the walls going up between SP and XY and it definitely would have hurt anyone in XY's corner at that time.
I could - theoretically - believe he didn't know which side to take, but he shouldn't have taken anyone's side, anyway, they weren't out at war...
I wish someone had taken the trouble to TL the book properly, the MTL doesn't make much sense and Priest always nuances her characters... The drama doesn't show a lot of WHY is SP so protective of Qian's little family, maybe there's something that triggers him into over-protective mode over Qian...
We'll have to see what happens, now we're halfway through.
Anyone got the link to the eng translation of the novel?
There's only an (kind of) atrocious MTL. You can google it. But IMHO since it's not TLed by someone with a good grasp of the language, better just suffer and wait for the weekly drama fix.
For breaking the 10K heat index; Sparky did a little hand dance lol: https://x.com/dramapotatoe/status/1771043628980342812?s=46&t=zqI38SPvJuccjplZiNI69QBXS…
Is that a hand dance or is he trying to use sign language? It looks a bit like sign language to me. (She IS doing some dance choreo though, LOL).
(Also LOL, I jokingly called him a bright spark and you nicknamed him Sparky and ran with it - but it does fit him doesn't it? He IS a bright spark (when he's not being stupid by not noticing the SFL yet) and he's also sparkling all over the place (I DO love that dark gray outfit though, despite the sparkly bits hahaha~)
ETA And most important, he still looks awesome in modern clothing. I need to watch more of the dramas he was in, and see him lead one soon!
And now it's done. This was the most fantastical medical, wait chase thriller drama I've ever watched. And by that I mean it has more miracles than the gospels.
The only one who impressed me was Yang SeJong, he really saved (what he could of) the drama. Everybody else was... I don't even know what they thought they were doing.
But now it's done and it might've weaned me off the timetravel/supernatural/scifi theme for a bit. Or maybe not, we'll see.
1:20 mark in the intro, immediately after ZLJ's still (he's holding a perfume bag or a written tag - might be a reference to the lantern she wrote her wishes for the perfect lover on). She looks cute :)
There's a short moment in the OP where she has on a nice dress and her hair is done like SGZ's. I hope it won't be due to despair but SGZ helps her look cute for her man.
The drama rule is "if there's no body, there's no death". Sometimes there's no death even if there's a body LOL.…
Also, if you get hit by a car... 75% chances of getting amnesia. That is, if you don't end up dead or reincarnated or had switched bodies with your worst frenemy.
The young childhood sweethearts relied and trusted each other, build a pure bond that couldnt be broken, supported…
The RED thread, err, ribbon between their hands, LOL, a symbol of marriage (though I think it's the wrong dynasty/timeline for it) and yeah you bet they did hint at soulmates with that.
I think the original CaiWei is beautiful too (despite the scar). SGZ is just a different kind of beauty. And their souls... He finally recognised the similarities and his eyes opened to who she actually is. Obviously he's happy - he isn't actually cheating on the memory of CaiWei, he is WITH CaiWei after all :D
The thing is - he didn't court her the first time around either. He just informed her he was going to wed her. Now he has to actually DO it and it's a first. And then there's ZLJ being petty and getting in his way all the time, too.
I kind of expected the twist once they found that body, LOL. Aww, Jiang-ge is being petty and PY is being served…
...Sadly that means the guy in the jail IS evil. Oh well, such is life.
LOL @PY - whenever he's trying to compliment her, she takes it the wrong way. "He wanted to find fault with me for the whole day" - no girl, he was trying to flirt with you LOL.
I'm loving the second cp more and more. For some reason, XiaoSheng and Jiang have more depth to their relationship already than what is between resurrected SGZ and PY (that is based more on their memories together and their link before the face change.)
Also, the academy master is being way too suspicious. False Shen Ci is in prison, who's the one brainwashing the students at the academy? The haunted forest is their background, who else could have set all those traps?
not watching this drama yet . just want to know, how annoying SML is?
She's his only friend ever, he's a bit too involved. But it doesn't look necessarily like love. He wouldn't know the difference anyway. Let's wait and see how long it takes SFL to teach him :D

I think ZLJ's father is the one in the shadows manipulating everything.

Aww, Jiang-ge is being petty and PY is being served a taste of his own medicine.
That coroner will soon raise a whole altar for his dead master, LOL, if these mysterious info dumps continue hahaha.
