This is hilarious! This kind of car product placement is normal? In It's Okay to Not Be Okay it was Volvo (which…
When While You Were Sleeping was airing (back in 2014 or so), there were Kia Sportage cars everywhere (ML even crashes one and everything). I wanted a Kia Sportage since forever (now they're old models already, obviously), never got one (too big, I like smaller cars). But the yearning remained, LOL. Whenever I see one on the street... I want one.
PPL works sometimes. And TBH, I never noticed what kind of car they're driving in QoT, they're all a mass of black SUVs and that's all that registers LOL. Maybe they just want to grow brand awareness or something.
And then there's the times when PPL really gets annoying - I'm never ever going to set foot in any Subway anywhere in the world, LOL.
Well, the critics are obviously right. These guys are billionaires, at some point HaeIn is mentioning the islands she's bought and never got to visit yet, I guess it has to be said: they should just walk everywhere, like billionaires actually do in real life. Right?
Though hey, there's that time when a bike (an actual bike, not a motorcycle) is used - what brand was it? :D
There IS a palace mastermind, LOL. Only not what I expected :DPY happy as a clam getting swindled by two shameless…
Dammit, the secret master in the shadows will turn out to be Jiang's father, won't he? And he said he has the means to control Jiang, too. Maybe he'll control him the same way Gu Yong controlled his own son...
The princess is a cool-headed woman and doesn't need/want another woman's man, yay for cool-headed royalty!! I thought the palace mastermind could be some old spy or old woman but it turns out to the princess herself, LOL. AT LEAST she's not some useless figurehead enamoured of a handsome man who knows poetry.
PY has a lot of trauma, dammit, at the end of ep 12 I thought he had been enlightened, but it was a fake out - shame on you director, shame on you!! BUT - and that's a huge plus - he's aware he's being unfaithful to CaiWei's memory,.. which means he's starting to recognise he DOES have feelings for Zhi! :D
XiaoSheng borrowing Jiang's sword in order to bully everybody else in the Ghost Market into giving her silver is so XiaoSheng LOL. I want Jiang-ge to fall for her forever and ever :D
Still - highlight of these two eps, Zhi and Jiang tricking PY into being the festival's mascot and making him ASK to be given the role, then him being all pleased with himself for having won the day, all the while they're coordinating with each other into pushing him into it hahaha~ Those two need to keep apart or they're going to swindle PY into whatever they want to do, every time, all the time :D
Hello smile bestie!!!! I also have a thing for smiles. It's the first thing I notice every time...and it helped…
You should watch The Untamed then - WWX's smile is the bestest smile in cdramas ever, LOL.
Haha, I don't recognize k-pop stars (except for everybody in ATEEZ, but that can't be helped). Everybody else... nah :D But I do recognize actors by their smiles (though usually I remember the best ones, anyway :) )
Smiles are just - perfect. More so when they reveal a nice personality, too.
TBH, the last two eps were a definite improvement on the first 4. Finally the story isn't choppy any more, they…
I don't really understand why LJW is acting so stiff in this drama. He CAN act, I've seen him do it beautifully before, but here he's very lacking in emoting anything, and then there's the open mouth fish-style kiss completely lacking in any passion (on either side TBH).
I didn't want to place all the blame on the actress, because I don't know if it's something to do with directing - I mean, seriously, WHY is LJW so stiff?! - but she really is a wallpaper and that's it. No emotions, no body language, nothing. If there was any hint of the smallest possibility of chemistry between them, the romance - which is the worst side of this drama - could have had a chance to work. But there isn't. So everything romance destroys what the conglomerate infighting is building. I see it's her first leading role after a VERY short drama career... I can't help but wonder what it took to get her the role - and if that's why LJW is so underwhelming in this... he probably realised what could be expected from the audience while they were filming it. But maybe that's just me being evil-minded.
Then there's the dynamics - if HTO wasn't freaking stupid all the time, he'd have learned KIH's nature a long time ago. After some 10-15 years together, there's no way he'd be caught out of the blue by any out-maneouvering done by KIH. That's just bad writing.
And now what, the stupid first chaebol son finally got some smarts out of the thin air?? I'd have rather bought an undercover revenge from KIH, but we're supposed to believe the stupid son did it and planned all that?! Like, seriously? Is the writer taking everybody for fools?! Considering this, it'll probably turn out to be HeeJoo's intended chaebol groom whatshisname, trying to get rid of competition.
Anyway... I hope this goes on in at least SOME engaging manner - I like it best when it's about planning (as long as they don't just promise to do it but really do it) and the less when it involves romance. With anybody (HeeJoo included).
And if the murder setup is done by KIH, that takes him into the MoJo's Top Ten Anime Betrayals list, LOL.
TBH, the last two eps were a definite improvement on the first 4. Finally the story isn't choppy any more, they stopped promising to start and actually DID things, some reveals happened and then they managed a good cliffhanger LOL.
The only continuing disappointment is the total lack of any visible chemistry between the FL and ML (ugh...) I hope the second half of the series actually delivers (unless they're preparing a long time skip right now LOL).
Wait, so the Silver Race Terrace headers aren't supposed to be the bad guys and evildoers especially Mr. Zuo.…
He got to be the boss of Silver Terrace because he (and presumably his men) totally butchered another sect entirely. He IS a killer, though a better educated one. XiaoSheng said she had to pay them a fee for ~protection~.
A-Jiang: It wasn't me! LOL. That man will throw anyone under the bus to get out of it clean hahaha~I was 100%…
I want them to get bromancey, can we get a nice bromance out of this, please? I'm already afraid someone's going to die, and it won't be the leads... I want a HEA for everybody!
It looks like the spy in the yamen is either A-Ze or Zhi's maid. And it can't be the maid because she wouldn't necessarily be around Pan Yue all the time to report on his doings... I don't want A-Ze to be the spy T_T but he's the best candidate.
Was that an actual wyvern's shadow in the water? That looked so cool!
Awww, Zhi'er feeding Pan Yue because his arms hurt... Awwwwwww.... And he was suffering on his own so nobly LOL.
I think I'm going to watch this, if only for Xin YunLai, LOL. I've been missing him, and he's finally on something NOT made by MangoTV (or at least not subbed by them) :D I don't know the leads, here's hoping the story is worth it.
Two Justice Ministers got told off and one of them was killed with his whole family - I guess it's pretty safe…
I don't think he WAS on a secret mission, but he might be now, since it got personal.
Wouldn't it be amazing if the "princess" was his direct superior and he turned out to be some wizened old prune hidden in a cove manoeuvering hundreds of lines to his agents in the wild? :D Or even - for extra oomph... if they were an old woman, LOL.
Yes, and very quickly too. He's one bright spark LOL.
So far the bright spark (or dark edgelord, LOL, he also has a mysterious identity, doesn't he?) and the best-hidden undercover coroner of Ancient China are sharing the cutest friendship, I want a lot more of that :D
And Pan Yue needs someone to fight against, right? (Or just fight against some brotherly love hahaha~)

PY happy as a clam getting swindled by two shameless swindlers is cute as heck, LOL. He didn't even realise what was happening to him hahaha~
Are we witnessing the birth of the second CP? Yes please!

They're the mafia of that city, LOL.

I was 100% sure that the man he'd point out (at the end of 11) is the one he did point out, LOL. That's just the way it works in dramas :D
