Weeell, the first part was definitely more engaging. The second half got way overcomplicated with the back and forth exchanges and the story about the building collapse that felt a bit too cold, not as emotional and close as the kidnapping part. And the ending episode also felt a bit stretched, even if they tried to tie off all loose threads.

But at least someone thought about giving them in the past the winning lottery numbers, LOL, it would've been so lame not to use that advantage to get them out of poverty LOL.

TBH, I am not sure about the wife, but ABH really impressed me with his acting - I could FEEL DoKyun being in love with her and all his moments made sense, from a plot POV and also from an actual person's POV. I've seen him in See You in My 19th Life too, but I felt the FL carried that drama instead. Here he's showing his acting chops and I really liked that.

Oh well, now let's go look for another time travel thriller LOL.

I guess they're trying to keep open and unambiguous relationships with SK production companies and actors - even if NF and international audiences don't care, Koreans wouldn't just not take notice of it... (Not saying I agree, just that I could see their point.)

Watch the first half, at least :), until XPZ exits, if for nothing else, for the battle scenes. And because Huang Xiao Ming is so damn fine, and the characters are precious. It won't even matter all that much what happens after, LOL.

... The music totally sucks, LOL, in contrast to NiF...

1. Lots of romance. The romance is kind of the point for quite a lot of the plot - at least it's kind of subtle in the beginning (and definitely does not get to the level of obnoxious lovey dovey scenes). But there will be kids, lots of little kids - worth the romance. Also, LOTS of more fighting scenes - the very best fighting scenes in any historical cdramas I've ever watched. Movie-level fighting scenes.

2. Yes, he dies (not from the opening scene, that is not it, it's going to be much later in the drama). It broke my heart too - but he dies a heroic and memorable death. Still dead, though. It's worth watching it all after all, but it depends on how much you get attached to fictional characters. For me, TingSheng (the father), PingZhang (elder son) and PingJing (younger son) were the perfect unit... and then the writer broke them apart. Then again, she's Hai Yan so we have to forgive her...)

PS You already know TingSheng - he's the unrecognized son of Prince Qi, the kid Mei ChangSu saved in NiF. He's already quite old by now, but he still remembers MCS... and that too breaks my heart from time to time in this drama.

So many stories that don't really need it get multiple seasons, and then there's that one perfect drama that NEVER gets a sequel because iQiYi hates us, that's why.

*iQiYi, if you're reading this, know that I'm saving money to hire a WhiteTruckofDoomTM - or even a plane, who knows - to send your way, better look both ways of the road before crossing. Better contact some Ink Lady just in case*

You're now in a different reality yourself, LOL. Be careful, don't make wishes on falling stars, particularly if they involve deletion of anything in your life :D

The old and new realities weren't in sync yet. There was a 3-day delay while they kept syncing, so YeoWoon was 3 days in the past while MyungHa was in the ~present~.

Or, if you will, while they could communicate instantly, MyungHa came back into the second reality but three days forward and had to wait for YeoWoon's timeline to catch up to him.

This is not a drama for a 7yo, IMHO (too much strategy and planning and talking and not enough action for a young kid.) The politics and bromance and the tragedy might also not even register a hit.

For a catchy wuxia without too much gore, maybe introduce him/her to The Blood of Youth (the blood isn't about gore content but about the spirit of youth), and there's a not-too-bad ending (little actual romance, too). And it's about a band of heroes doing heroic stuff, that includes a lot of humor and building up power etc, pretty much like a shounen anime. The fight scenes are amazing, too.

Or for something modern with the hint of wuxia, I Am Nobody will be perfect (minor warning for some childish-level humour, but then again... that might make it the best first contact wuxia, LOL). There will be a little gore, but it's not exactly important for the plot and not over-long. It's basically a drama about superheroes, too :) (with an awesome soundtrack, to boot).

PS I recommend you DO watch NiF, even if alone. It's one of the best dramas ever made and really stands up to the test of time.

All of them. There's only one novel, but it's been published in its licensed English version in 5 volumes because they included a glossary, inserts of illustrations (and the deluxe versions included mini posters too) and not the smallest possible font either. They all look amazing, TBH (even if I got the normal editions, LOL). And they included the extras in the 5th volume :D

The drama covers all the story, with some changes (made it an extra hot bromance instead of actual danmei, included more storytime for some of the characters, switched up the timelines a bit to make them a bit clearer, etc.) But don't worry, it's all of it been told in the drama. Well... not the spicy moments. But they are all there in the novel *wink*

The one published in 8 volumes is Heaven Official's Blessing (drama is Eternal Faith, but who knows if it'll ever be released, now that China is cracking down on danmei adaptations; there's a donghua that already has released 2 seasons, though), also only one novel but a lot longer than MDZS (on which TU is based). And the other MXTX licensed novel is Scum Villain's Self Saving System (donghua version has one season so far), which ended up in 4 volumes only (extras included, LOL). So, all three of the author's novels are now licensed and already released in an official English TL.

If you mean the MANHUA... yes, that one is a work in progress yet. No idea how many volumes of it are still to be released.

Err.... We do love a bit of a shamelessly aggressive seme, LOL. And the uke doesn't seem to mind it too much either :D

This must be the best I've seen from SSR so far (admittedly haven't seen a lot of his dramas.) The first ep rocks, I hope the rest of it stands to the same standard.

(And because he looks taller than ABH, which isn't an easy feat, LOL, I checked wiki and he is indeed a whole centimeter taller, hahaha~)

LJH had some great moments where his acting went over the roof, too bad the plot didn't help him act more along the same vein.

Overall, a nice story, not the geatest but not the blandest either, I liked it and I maybe even would have appreciated more LOL.

So based only on that picture, I guess YJG is the hijacker LOL.

I can't get it out of my head - Mashiko Atsuki is SeongHwa's clone or the other way around, the way this played like a dōjinshi in my head, you won't believe it. I really need that manga to have the characters look a bit different, LOL, so I can get out of the fujoshi fangirl mode hahaha~ *send help*

Well, this came off pretty well. Two (EXTREMELY) good looking guys with amazing chemistry and no body-shyness (I love that in a BL, it definitely makes it better), the weather vane might point out that Mizuki has some psycho tendencies but it won't matter in the long run, Yoh's curry will eventually kill him LOL. And OMG are they fire together.

They must be triplets :D (I looked for Mai Vu Luan all over the place, sadly MDL doesn't have a Vietnamese list yet T_T)

I am 4 eps into My Personal Weatherman and I can't get over how much he looks like Park SeongHwa, LOL. Those lips are exactly the same, his expressions at times are exactly the same, these guys can be identical twins from different countries, LOL.

This is based on a novel by Priest. By definition, Priest writes a plot, not a romance. So the heavy themes and light sprinkles of cute and romance are to be expected, actually. It's just how she writes things.

The CDS always works in mysterious ways, LOL. And he totally got a SIC (standard issue cat, for people who aren't "in" *wink*), too :D

This is like watching a trainwreck - sudden, hazy, strange but impossible to look away from.

The good things: most of the scenes the FL isn't in (she's improved since the first two eps, but not by much). There is actually some bromance going on and not just a transactional relationship. The plot seems to finally be going somewhere (though in twenty directions at once, LOL). There are some actual feeling-human people in this drama (InHa, as in the first eps, HuiJu, and even TaeOh comes online from time to time, LOL). Some nice and witty phrases now and then (like "You're the devil / You're not an angel yourself" - that was good.)

The bad things... so many of them.

First - 5 years later, 3 days before, 5 years later again (no idea what's the reference point in time, LOL), 1 day before... I got whisplash and I have no idea when exactly anything is happening at any given moment. (BTW did these guys go to the army so far? Because it looks like they entered "the game" in their mid-20s and with the time skips they'd be in the beginning of their 30s by now, wouldn't they?!)

Second - this is the beginning of everything. This is the start of the plan. This is the beginning of the game. This is the start. This is the first... (you get the idea). That became tiresome VERY fast. Okay, now things are in motion please stop telling me things are starting. We're a third through the drama, let's have some actual middle parts too.

Third... the transitions. WTF are those transitions?! They never make any sense. The music ends and we're given a dark slide, then the music (sometimes the same music) picks up again and we're somewhere in a different scene but not always much different - WTF, make smooth transitions or hard stops, editing team, this looks sloppy and annoying and I'm not even a tech dealing with edits, LOL.

Fourth - the story still isn't coming together. I can see so many puzzle pieces but they don't fit together and it doesn't look like the writer is able to make them fit in the end. For a rather short drama - 12 eps and we've seen 4 already - they should probably be further on with the plot... I'm not really invested in anyone BUT InHa, and that's only because he definitely is the most human among them, so easier to empathize with... But we've seen 1001 scenes with the conglomerate second wife being a conglomerate second wife and pushing her son to the top and about 3-4 scenes with the neglected (bastard) third son, who is supposedly one of the leading roles.

Fifth... Their personal stories are being poured so haphazardly into this, they don't make any sense. We've been treated with a full ep of HyeWon's backstory about the abusive thieving mom, and only now we've been given a (short and unexplained) scene into InHa's own backstory... Because why the hell?! I hope they fix that ASAP. And also, another thing that doesn't make sense - the chairman knows what TaeOh did as a kid and presumably can tell which side of the bed he got off in the morning, BUT doesn't know he and InHa get together all the time, have been friends since highschool and plan things together?!

And I could keep going. There are so many plot holes they probably won't have time to fill in this drama, I guess it'll be extremely frustrating in the end...

But again - this is a trainwreck... Once in a while, you can't escape looking at them, so I'll probably just sit back and enjoy the mess, given that the FL appears as little as possible.
