So this actually needed webtoon background info to make sense (for the switch in the end, I mean?) Bummer. It should at least had been hinted at in S1, even if it becomes clearer in S2. Left as it was, it came out of the left field and made zero sense (and lowered the stakes for the final battles).

Thank you for the info, though, here's hoping S2 comes soon enough and makes sense too.

I'm on episode 3 but the show is really slow for me, when will it pick up the pace? or is it a slow paced till…
It took til around ep7 for me to get interested. The first 6 seemed aimless until they started filling the backstory and then it got really, really amazing. For me, the parents' tales are the best and the parents are actually the heroes (though the youngsters have a part too.)

What he did before he "awakened" was simple uncontrolled gliding, and mostly falling. It took HS being in danger for him to get in control of it.

Did anyone understood how these people were created and what kind of "training " they were getting in order to…
Their powers need to be awakened. NK decided to do it the brute-force way, with placing them in life-or-death situations (actually the NK flyer also does this to BongSeok and HeeSoo to check how powerful they are), while SK decided to just check and see how to awaken their abilities and that only for kids of known superpowered.

That guy who got wiped by the cleaning lady was trying to do it a bit more NK-like, with arranging accidents, and it worked... in a way. Not completely.

Also, the wait-and-see approach definitely did NOT work on the smart superpowered kid who could stop time and managed to get transferred to a different highschool. I bet we'll see him in the next season.

Because they had to move houses right away since their location has been compromised.
Even if SK would have left them alone, MiHyun would not risk it because she's paranoid and smart. HeeSoo and her father can risk it because her file is gone, nobody actually really pinpointed her ability, if any, and Mr Choi would also help cover it. And then Jang JuWon dispatched the sniffer, so all's well (for now).

This has got the be one of the slowest starting dramas ever. I watched the first, let it aside, re-started after…
That final switch of the final boss was pretty lame, though. I mean, okay, the old guy was a douchebag, but he probably (maybe) really wanted to do something for the country, if it also helped him. What use is it to change it to him being a lower rank than a random girl who just played at being a bullying victim in the highschool? Made no sense.

DooSik was the action hero in this one, his gunfights were always pretty awesome. In the final fight, JaeWon won the day for hulking out to protect his kid, and then MiHyun was the best smart killer around - she herself took out three of the NK gang, LOL, and led to the demise of their leader (him with the late-found morals), whereas the guys couldn't basically kill anyone. JuWon indirectly caused the Smeagol quake-starter to commit suicide, but later on adopted his huge-ass foster bro' or whatever he thought they were for each other.

JuWon did make some progress with killing the sniffer, though, and not a second too soon. And then DooSik again came to cleap up, LOL. (Though seriously, changing the boss really brought the whole story down a level).

WTF was everybody and their dog doing in Korea while the superpowered were totally levelling the school though?!! Shootings, quakes, people flying around like nobody's business etc - what the hell, did everyone decide to take a deep nap at the same time collectively?! And Mr NIS guardian didn't even call headquarters to let them know their huge-ass project is being torn down by NK agents?!

Also, the NK soldiers guarding against DooSik, LOL, none of them had ever seen a flying man before (maybe not in movies either) and nobody batted an eye when the flying man started shooting them all off?! (Not complaining, he was cool as heck in all his missions, a huge positive point in the drama, LOL) And then in less than just a few years suddenly mature superpowereds start appearing out of the woodwork all over NK, what, were they powerless before? (Because in SK all of them seem to have discovered it pretty young. Especially the flying ones.)

Oh nevermind. It was entertaining - particularly the parents, as I've already said - and I will probably watch a second season, if it involved MiHyun and DooSik again LOL. Just to see the smart one and the cool one against the stupid new bossy bitch.

This has got the be one of the slowest starting dramas ever. I watched the first, let it aside, re-started after it finished airing and it only hit a good stride around mid-point. The adults' part was the best, the final fights were pretty awesome, the kids' part was the most boring (despite the cute aww~ romance parts).

When it was about the parents' origin stories, it was amazing. Not too sure about the kids and their future in the rumoured S2. But the FX were pretty great.

Title The Untamed Spoiler
Hi! I wanted to ask about the diminutive forms of Chinese names. Is there any difference between using "Xiao"…
Disclaimer: I'm not Chinese and don't speak the language.

From what I've seen in dramas, mostly, the ~a is an endearing term used for people you know (family and close friends. Kind of like the Korean ~ah, ~ya, added at the end of the name). Same goes for ~er, but that one seems to be even more intimate, mainly used by close family and very good friends (maybe lovers?). Whereas Xiao~ comes through usually as a nickname, less familiar, more like a cultural prefix for someone you know but maybe you're not that close to, though obviously everyone, family included, might use it. Like using "ge" for someone you don't really know, but it's an acceptable term (if they're older), or "jie" for women (also if they're older.) I don't remember the words right now, but same goes for "uncle/aunt" (no actual relationship involved, it's just polite to address them that way, like using "sir/madam" in Western society, just a bit more close).

So you might hear YanLi calling WWX "A-Xian" in this drama, because they're family and it's an endearment term, though not really a diminutive. (I don't think it works like that in Chinese.) Adding Xiao~ in front of his name doesn't make it a diminutive. And I've noticed that the Xiao~ (if used) is placed mainly in front of the family name, usually - WWX would be called Xiao Wei for example, or we'd have Xiao Lan, if anyone dared, LOL.

I might be totally wrong on this, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

PS Another term used between friends - or to show respect, at times - is Lao, placed in front of the family name. If it goes between same-age persons, it seems a bit teasing, like calling someone Lao Wen (when they're NOT old at all - Lao means old, in one of the ideograms, LOL) as ZZS does in WoH. Also, still not a diminutive :D

You can also hear colleagues - even actors, if you're watching some BTS - calling each other Laoshi all the time (it means teacher/master). (Because supposedly you always learn from others, I guess :D) And saying something like "Laoshi will show them how it's done!" (maybe while pointing at yourself) is pretty cheeky LOL, like bragging you're better.

They play the part where obviously everyone hates them and doesn't have time to hate anybody else LOL.

Shrimpy, how did SBMS do in China overall?
Imagine having to FFD through JOL2 LOL, because hockey couple guy is in it... It's not fair for ZRY and the rest of the cast who made JoL1 a success, as it wasn't fair for XZ to have to be sidelined from time to time in the drama he's leading. AT LEAST they nicely wrapped those parts and set them very specifically aside so we can FFD through them and get to the actually good parts, LOL.

PS It shouldn't be too late, though - aren't they just filming now? They could find someone better. Or not, if it's the agency pushing him through so heavy handedly...

TBH, I watched a few bits of the beginning, to see how it looks like, and there was a distracting amount of CGI for such a short glimpse. I thought they filmed it in Brunei, like the first parts, I guess if they did, it definitely wasn't all.

So I decided to let it finish first and then take a longer look. I like LJG, i don't want to be disappointed in his regular one-drama-per-year drama of this year.

Shrimpy, how did SBMS do in China overall?
I wonder how JoL2 will do if the casting for YBY is confirmed and he comes over with a burden of public dislike, I don't want for JoL2 to have to pull his deadweight for him - I mean, the first season ended in a huge cliffie, and YBY's presence and actions in the second season SHOULD be pretty important, at least in the beginning.

Now the blatant pushing they did with the actor might backfire on his other dramas.

They absolutely do. Not only that but because this is a TV drama, we can follow the ratings in real time and they…
Is there still a hot data index somewhere? I thought the powers that be made c-ent stop using those (or at least they don't announce it anywhere) for the past few years.

Though if there were a negative data index, those three people would probably lead it right now, LOL.

Why does JB wears jeans to an award ceremony???? LOL.
Because it's an award for young enterpreneurs in publicity (that she happened to get because it's basically SYs brainchild.) It said so in the award's ceremony title - Youth something, LOL. And she's entitled to wear whatever she wants to and looks decent/good (nobody else is wearing haute couture or anything, either).

I believe there were a lot of unnecessary things in this drama, the hockey trio having this absurd amount of screentime…
IMHO the hockey couple and the uncle would have worked, too, IF the editing was balanced. Instead, somebody decided to put everything in one episode - almost a full ep of Xue and ShanShan, almost a full ep (or more) of hockey couple and uncle, and also full eps of main couple and so. If there was a little bit of everything, the overall feeling might have been better. Like this, everyone loved the MLs and the support charas around them and left aside (or FFD-ed) through anything with the hockey couple in it, LOL.

Now I wonder if the editor REALLY intended that outcome, or instead they wanted to ostracize the hockey couple for some reason. If so, it did work LOL.

But for that, you have to basically skip 70% of the show!😓🤣I only finished by skipping 40% of the show,…
>> ML's father-mother bickering part

Those parts were good, shouldn't be skipped. Old couples have their routine, and yet still have wisdom to impart. The bickering is a way to communicate too - and if anything, this is a drama about communication.

Skip all that includes the hockey couple though.

The end scene was in line with Sheng Yang character. That was something he would totally do 🙂
She's there as a working woman (in a men's world). She doesn't HAVE to play cute if she doesn't want to. And she was smartly dressed, even if not in a cocktail dress or something. SY wore sneakers, LOL, I bet all of them wore known brands.

Anyway, I quite liked the earrings. I want some for myself, but in silver, not in gold. I was watching the earrings the whole time LOL.

It was a misleading description for sure, but, I guess, the separation was the ten years between their first meeting…
They only met for a short time years back, weren't together to separate and reunite later. It's either a mistranslation of a Chinese blurb, or the plot changed from what it was when the blurb was first written. Anyway, it says three years after they are together, so it kind of got stuck in my mind (and probably everyone else's) that they would separate at some point. I'm glad it didn't happen, but that info sure did colour my expectations for the whole ride.
