Just want to know . . .do HHL & XCS break up or not? The break up was confusing to me lol. It felt like he was…
They did. He point-blank asked her to wait for him, even tried to keep her in place physically, and she said she'll come visit some other time instead of replying (after all that self-reflection on why she should move on with her life, too). So that's done.
And then he made it official with the letter, telling her to reach for her own dream. That ship has sank.
After ep1, I'm lowering my expectations a bit. This will be an action-filled story, mostly, going by what came in ep1, and well, it's webtoon based so I should have expected it. But I quite like it anyway.
I hope they throw in some more character development with the fighting, and if there's romance, it's not contrived.
But hey... boxing just got a lot sexier with WDH throwing his fists around :D
Dammit. XCS offered YGH the glory and he TOOK IT the freaking bastard!! Where's your honour as a soldier? Where's…
He's not stupid in the sense that he's an idiot, but incompetent, yes. He supposedly taught all of them how to demine a field, but couldn't protect himself when it mattered?
But that aside - yes indeed, XCS is only comfortable being vulnerable and really open around TXM. I hope it's because he feels safe with her, not because he's seeing her as a sounding board with little meaning. Knowing his persona so far, I'd definitely say it's instinctive trust. I loved watching her turn his mind around on why he should continue living when his life's purpose was destroyed, and doing it with a story of her own powerlessness. I really really like this girl.
And he needs her - he needs someone who's quietly steady along with him, and doesn't need him to be the tower of strentgh at all times. Love should be give and take, not just give. (Or in HHL's case, mostly take).
Though I'm still wondering how she got in that train, LOL, did she really defect? (I know she didn't but it would be really funny :D)
I cant blame either party. However, XCS goodness has its own place to be acknowledged by someone whose ideals…
Consider this: when their house was on fire, XCS went in blindly and got HHL's mother out, saving her life. When YGH stupidly stepped on a landmine, XCS bit his tongue and took his place, sending him off to glory and placing himself in mortal danger because of friendship.
And this only deserves some self-recrimination where both of them admit they're not good people, and that's justification enough for YGH to stop HHL from following her ONE genuine impulse of getting to XCS, and for HHL for completely blindsiding him in his hour of need, when he wanted and expected her reassurance and love.
It's not selfishness, it's them being shameless and using him for their own needs and means, then throwing him to the side the instant he became too "burdensome" for them to carry.
Were he not XCS, that would be a villain's origin story right there.
Dammit. XCS offered YGH the glory and he TOOK IT the freaking bastard!! Where's your honour as a soldier? Where's…
The saddest thing is that XCS told him to grab the spotlight because he THINKS YGH is the same as himself - having a dream and working firmly towards it. While at the same time, YGH's motivation is way, way simpler - he LIKES it how it makes him feel to be adulated by his comrades. He likes to be looked up on as a hero of the people. He didn't EARN it dammit. If he wasn't there, XCS would've come back safe and sound and Amao and JingZhu wouldn't have died either! Duan Lei is invalidated out of the army because of his bum leg, he was one of the better soldiers and it's all because of YGH beying overconfident, underprepared and STUPID.
And he takes PRIDE in it?! Why?? Is it only XCS and Duan Lei who rememeber the fallen comrade soldiers?! YGH doesn't have what it takes to be a leader of men, sadly. And XCS kept misunderstanding him over it. It was just ambition and self-promoting, not anything heroic. That will get more people killed in the future. I hope he does something stupid and non-lethal and is booted out of the army, too.
Then again, he and HHL deserve each other, I hope we see the less of them from now on. Unless they're getting what they deserve.
Just wanna say the drama is ranked #224 at the moment in MDL...😄Attendence checked! 😄😄
What do we say? Present? *raising hand*
I need some sweet smiles from the leads. Or some scenes of them trying to kill each other, I don't care. Something. This is like a lingering addiction...
There, THERE, XCS, she's the one! Pick her! Also, HHL and YGH, please drop dead.
Dammit. XCS offered YGH the glory and he TOOK IT the freaking bastard!! Where's your honour as a soldier? Where's the sense of brotherhood? TURN HIM THE F**K DOWN, he's not in his right mind!! Give him his one chance at military glory, you freaking thief and let him feel worthy of his father's pride!!
I have so much contempt for YGH, I can't even express it.
Also, HHL... I said before I understood her pragmatic POV, but this is NOT the way to do it, dammit! He's basically breaking down in front of her, BEGGING her to stay and consider waiting for him and she goes, oh well, see you around?!
Not to mention TXM building him up when he's feeling basically suicidal and worthless, only for HHL to waltz in and IMMEDIATELY destroy his newfound purpose in life with her what-ifs and what-if-nots. That's not love. That's just self-serving and self-preservation and wanting something shiny and good but not willing to work for it at all!
I don't like how YanQui kept his father's death from him, but oh well, priorities. And I LOVE Ye Fang, there's someone with a backbone and a sense of righteousness in that family! Too bad she got it all and there was none left for her scum brother! Also, HongJun is turning out despicable. Ye Fang, you could do way better, leave this social climber!
But then XiaoMei showed up AFTER HER SURGERY, that girl either defected, LOL, or took emergency leave as soon as she found out XCS was going to the train station. YES GIRL!! I'm shipping you both to the Moon and back! Go get him!! And XCS open up those damned big eyes and find out who's been the rock to lean on by your side all this time!
He doesn't KNOW yet. It's an immense thing to have happened to him, but he's still in the processing phase. Let…
I don't care about where the focus is right now - XCS doesn't KNOW what happened to him yet. If TXM knew, she would tell him, but she too thinks the surgery went "better than expected" and that he'll recover ASAP.
He went through a short coma, woke up and learned two of his friends are dead, but the rest survived, he's still trusting his BFF and GF, he's obviously alive and has that superhero mentality - he can get through ANYthing. It hasn't hit him yet, what it means if his legs are still numb after days.
Don't worry, you'll see him in full focus. I mean, there are spoiler scenes in the freaking OP and ED dealing with this (only watched them once, and I still remember the sequence). I doubt they won't let XZ show his full range, when this is going to be the turning point of XCS's life.
I mean, we're about to hit the middle of the drama, and the writer hasn't let us down yet. Let's give them some trust they know what they're doing.
Hello, can someone tell me how this drama is? And who are the current couples and the couples u think would eventually…
It's very good. The couples are extremely obvious from the get-go setups. And if you're in doubt, watch the OP LOL. They're in there.
But don't start this one for the romance (or not just for the romance). It's a coming-of-age for more than one characters, and not all of them are progressing just through love. It's more slice-of-life-romantic than rosey-dovey romance, so be warned.
I can't believe it - first HHL nicely waltzes past XCS's feelings and goes for help straight to his love rival…
YGH still has a chance (albeit a small one) to turn right. As you say, even if he ends up with HHL (good riddance!) at least he should let XCS take the merit for his heroic deed, and unambiguously so (I don't want to see something like he's giving XCS the credit in a manner that everybody else thinks he's doing it because he's - probably - going to be forced to retire from the army).
I'm hoping he comes through, at least THIS ONE TIME, if ever.
As for HHL... I won't miss her. I can totally understand her choice from a pragmatic POV (she grew up in exactly the same type of home she'd condemn her children to, were she to marry XCS who is poor and has no relations and can't do anything but choose the right and difficult path.)
But she didn't even give him his dignity as a man - he was trying everything he could to get her the money for her mother's operation, even borrowing from his comrades... and she just picked up the phone and chose the easy path of borrowing from YGH who she KNOWS is still in love with her. That's not something you do to the man you're claiming to be in love with. She's indirectly telling him she doesn't consider him reliable and a good provider. Dammit, I felt that pain for him. They should have broken up right then, but I guess he would've given her the benefit of the doubt at least for that one time, AND found excuses for her, too. Still, it's an omen of how things will happen between them. As soon as she finds out he can't walk (yet), she'll see him as a burden on her life and find an excuse to let him break up with her.
(Wanna bet it's going to be HIS idea, because he's going to see the writing on the wall soon enough? And she'll take it).
So yeah.
Good thing this drama doesn't have breaks, I'd climb the walls, LOL.
I have calmed down enough to say I could write some pretty terrible words about Guohua right now. It isn't just…
He has a very short window of time to come clean, but consider this - some time has passed since XCS woke up. He came to see him and promised him recognition because he was going to go tell all to the army (why hadn't he, before, when XCS was still in a coma?!)
Then some more days pass when he gets shipped back to the city and XCS remains in the hospital. He had time to tell the people in the train he didn't get the info, XCS did... but I have this feeling he didn't tell.
I have this sinking feeling their last reciprocally sincere moments as best friends happened before XCS took his place pressing the mine, when YGH thought he was going to die anyway and admitted to being jealous for everything. Now he has a chance to get some military merits before XCS even thinks about it, and I think he knows XCS won't expose him anyway. But it would break XCS's heart if YGH betrays him like that...
From HHL, I have no expectations of her standing by him - she's one for quick fixes, lately. Not admitting he's her boyfriend I can understand, under the military rules, but then Ye Fang is putting her in her place and she doesn't really have a strong, innocent-type reaction... more of a, ~hey! So THAT's what those feelings I've been having mean!!~ kind. If she learns XCS is now unable to remain in the army, and sees YGH as a hero (a RICH hero), she'll take the easier path, EVERY time. They both told XCS in so many words that's how they think. So if she betrays him, I won't even be surprised.
Hm, none of that, it's literally time travel, so how did they pass censorship? O_oAnyway, it was quite good, but…
Not precisely time-travel, but time-loop. So not going back to the distant past to change anything from a historical POV, but going a very little time back to save a busload of people, find the culprit for MengMeng's death and also show the police in a very positive light (they were mostly helpful, efficient, fast and not prejudiced. From a pro-police propaganda POV, they did everything right).
And it offered an opportunity for 1. make people see why that extended surveillance system could help, from time to time and 2. show that some cities in China are really beautiful (well, I liked what I saw of that city they filmed in).
This, just considering why it would pass censorship (and not considering that the plot is actually tight, the cinematography good, the acting okay - and there are cats!)
I can't believe it - first HHL nicely waltzes past XCS's feelings and goes for help straight to his love rival…
FGS is a swear phrase slang, LOL, Ye GuoHua is the culprit (YGH :D)
I won't watch previews, I like this a lot and don't want spoilers... But from what I did see in the OP and ED, it's obvious eventually XCS will regain use of his legs and that YGH and HHL will probably marry (XCS is crying over a wedding invitation at some point in the OP or ED), but dammit... what a letdown!! And he had JUST said he owed his life to XCS!
I hope he'll come through and it was only a moment's indecision... but I also hope nobody ever lets XCS know his best friend, whom he had just saved, hesitated into stealing the only military glory he'd ever have (since he's probably going to be retired on a medical basis, IMHO).
*keeping fingers crossed* Come on, YGH, tell the truth!!!
I can't believe it - first HHL nicely waltzes past XCS's feelings and goes for help straight to his love rival and NOW, now XCS just put his own life on the line for YGH... YGH is considering stealing his glory and not clarifying who actually got the important info!
I can see HHL doing it, since she's kind of a material girl in the end, but YGH?! WHY??? This is so disappointing. FGS, he's lying there having barely survived a land mine YOU stepped on, dammit, and you just go and accept fellow soldiers' praise with no second thought, and don't make it straight!! SO disappointed in YGH.
Poor other two soldiers (Amao! No!), but I'm so mad at YGH and HHL I can't think straight right now.
And then he made it official with the letter, telling her to reach for her own dream. That ship has sank.
