Why do I get feeling FL and ML will endup together even though it's no romance drama ππ
She's older than both of them and acting like their big sister. There's more bromance between the two of them than between her and any other character (Police Chief aside, LOL).
Ep. 12 Doesn't police have guns in Taiwan? Why didn't she shoot the baker when she had a chance? Even on the leg?…
She didn't have a (stun) gun any more, she just mimicked the moves hoping baker-boy will let go of PYY. She's in the criminal investigation team now, not a patrol cop, so maybe she wasn't issued a gun yet (or they don't have one, I don't know).
They never stopped giving him CPR until the stupid detective forcefully pulled CGY from PYY. He and ChuYing took turns giving CPR and did it for a long time (CGY was breathing hard and his face was all wet with sweat). They did keep him alive and he started breathing again on his own when stupid detective stopped them.
Was reading about the drama and according to Wikipedia stated βThe series began filming on October 16, 2021,…
Yes, period dramas usually go through about a year of post-production (adding special effects, editing, cutting it according to censors, trying to get a release approval, making more changes if needed, and so on and so forth). It takes a lot of time if it's heavy on the special effects side, and this one definitely was.
Modern dramas also spend some time in post-production, though not as much as period / costumes, unless some of the actors or team make the news in an unsavoury way.
It's quite easy for me to pick my fav character, fav couple, fav scene and fav outfit but after rewatching TTEOTM…
Favourite character: soft, fragile hostage prince TTJ *mind preparing all kinds of revenge on everybody and their pets*
Favourite scene: fragile hostage prince TTJ raising his eyes at LSS/YXW ready to do murder (ep1). That is the bestest scene in a drama full of best scenes. I didn't even touch the fighting scenes.
Favourite outfit: fragile hostage TTJ in his airy mauve-white winter robes.
Favourite couple: heh.
And yes I'm using "fragile" in a sarcastic way, LOL. That man is made of steel.
Who was Lu qun again? Im so bad with names π€£I just noticed that the same actor have the same name in a movie…
He is the guy in the morgue who's working with CGY and lets them in to see the nameless body. The senior intern (or he's an employee already, I don't remember).
Finished ep6, almost put me to sleep (again). You've promised me the dynamics changes after ep6 and I'll hold you to that...
(Seriously, why does this drama feels like valium to me?!! I like one of the mains, the story is still a bit interesting, not too rushed, all things I like... Yet I keep getting sleepy each and every ep. Is it the hypnosis? Is it working on me, too? LOL).
Brethren, I have come again with a hope and a question: WHERE THE HECK AT THE FINAL BGM OSTS??
I've replayed those last 5 mins of ep 39 so much I am of a mind to edit-cut that theme from the episode itself, but I want a good sound on it, and dammit they're still NOT releasing it!!
COUPLE GOALS 101-EXCHANGE your one eyes with your partner.ππππ€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘π€‘
Couple goals 101... Make wontons for your partner, DON'T tell him you made it, die, come back just as a wandering soul in your final day on Earth to make him some wontons again because he MIGHT be hurting.
The Chinese title translated as "The LangYa Rankings" and it's still very much appreciated in its home country.…
I had no idea who Hu Ge is before watching this drama (I had known Wu Lei, but he was a newbie when this one was made and his role isn't particularly hard, all things considered (other than physically demanding).
So you could say I went in un-biased. And loved it.
Also, TBH, what put me off for the longest time from watching it was actually the title, that doesn't make any sense to me. Nirvana, why? In fire, why? Then again, Chinese media pick some of the most random English titles for some dramas so I dealt with it.
Like me, there were many others. Buddhism and any hints about any kind of religion in here are detterents to me, and if this turned out to be about a certain religion - or it played an important role in it - I'd probably been turned off.
Don't assume watchers are in any way religious, or practicing if they do say they are. It doesn't have much of an importance to most people... unless you let it,
How the hell do you get to pay/download this??https://www.cdbao.net/thread-1498547-1-1.htmlI want the instrumentals,…
Yup, did some Google Fu and managed to get the links. Sadly, they don't include the themes I'm desperate for (they're not in YT either). I guess maybe they'll release a second volume of BGM, if we're really really lucky... :(
YES! We are an army of many!! (I know everybody else is actually all infatuated with hostage prince TTJ, they just like to pretend they aren't, LOL. Let's leave them have their confusion for a while. :D)
How the hell do you get to pay/download this??https://www.cdbao.net/thread-1498547-1-1.htmlI want the instrumentals,…
Forum money... ooo-kay. (Strange payment method LOL). Dammit I really want that instrumental OST. I guess I'll have to wait until it comes up somewhere I can really buy it.
EDIT Okay, managed it somehow. It contains the BGM already posted on YouTube. So the new themes from the later eps are still unreleased T_T
By the way, in the last episodes a new character was introduced. White wearing lady demon. She tasted the blood…
She was in an earlier ep, too (when NBY got TTJ out and they tried to make it out of the Barren Abyss). She's some kind of nightmare demon too, IIRC.
My two cents: (not to demean the actress' work, just my opinion) She is a support/guest chara whose role didn't get cut down to nothing because there were some needed scenes that included her, and maybe she either 1. was someone Chinese watchers would know was supposed to appear (Weibo promo does wonders like that) or 2. there's some support thrown her way by her agency, for example, who insisted on her definitely appearing (I don't know if you can make such clauses to a contract, but I wouldn't wonder if there were).
Drama ending: they made a final bait-and-switch and had them separate for a bit. Then WWX is playing the flute…
If you already watched the 3-season donghua (animated version), don't miss the chibi version (pure fluff sprinkled with sugar) and the audio drama, either! This comes in a lot of packages :D
The novel has infinite more PDAs (because WWX is shameless, that's why LOL), and you can see LWJ becoming bewitched in real time :D (like we all did hahaha).
Be happy it's just mouth blood spitting. In xianxia, the trope is actually they'd bleed from ALL head orifices…
I didn't mind the flashbacks in TTEOTM LOL, I liked Ancient Devil God (and it's mostly him they're flashing to hahaha). It's an occasion to observe the fine nuances of his expressions (or lack of). I think LYX acted all his characters in this drama out of the park, as they say .
I won't blame the new drama length rules that came out when TTEOTM was airing already and mutilated it, but it's clear the first three arcs are better (from my POV, particularly the first). Support charas fell to the side through no fault of the production team, I bet they did have something planned for each of them. But they did save as much as possible, so for me, I did like it. Very much so. Then again, as I've said, what I liked best was TTJ's progress.
Usually I read danmei, though there are a few other genres in my list (that I haven't gotten to yet, LOL). But the drama didn't make me want to read the novel anyway, PRECISELY because of what the readers said was in it, in difference to the drama's plot. So I guess, at least with this one, it might be the drama does it better than the novel, even mutilated by the censorship and rules. I really don't like deus-ex-machina endings, even if they're HEA.
Hahaha, I don't have a problem watching anything with subtitles (I even watched English dramas with English subtitles - things like Outlander - because there are some with strange accents and I couldn't understand what they were saying. I'm not a native English speaker either, so accents come harder to understand for me, when hearing them. In reading, it's a different story :D)
I've also grown weary of top-rated kdramas... It's either MDL public, or a certain bias toward kdramas from some Western countries' audience that rates certain stories way too high, according to my taste. So sadly I've started postponing some of them until I'm in the mood, and it's WAY easier to just drop them if I don't like how they start. Some of the freshness is gone - did you notice the trendy thing? One year, all major kdramas are medical one, the next, all are lawyer-filled, then there's a trend about natural beauty and / or the supernatural and so on, and so forth...
Sad. I still hope they revert the slide into Westernized consumption production, but I am not too optimistic about it.

Or did I miss it? Help!
Naaaah, CWN has this down, pat.
Bonus (I'm loving this bonus): LYX is CWN hahaha.
