If you think about it from a realistic blood spitting POV though, LSS got the prize - her chocked up blood spitting when fighting with Di Mian was the best, IMHO.

It's dropping because a lot of people want a happy-ever-after ending and are hearing things they don't like about it. If you're someone influenced by how others rated it, take it into consideration. If you prefer to make up your mind if it's good or not, give it a try.

He passed his tribulation (not all of them are lightning-based; he absorbed a real god's essence - Devil God's, and made it his own, because he had ascended. He did it, most probably, when he was refining the Heart-Guarding Scale, because it belonged to Ming Ye and needed divine essence to be refined. He had made it his own).

That's why LSS needs to be a goddess to bring him down, so he makes sure SHE passes her (lightning) tribulation, too.

She reached Nirvana and could see he's already ascended, and made him look as he should have looked, for the little time they had remaining.

Life does go on. OE exist. Dramas with BE or OE or even undetermined endings exist. Don't take it so seriously.

I don't want the same bland HEA all the time. There is pain in life, and it's not always incapacitating. Which isn't to say I wouldn't have liked a HE for this drama. I would have. But the ending they presented made sense, and that was all I ever wanted from any fictional story.

Anyway, enjoy your dramas however you like them! :)

This series earned its ending. (I can't believe it, I'm here defending an ending I didn't appreciate at first, because obviously, like any sane person, a HE would have immediately pleased me, particularly for such a tortured character.)

But now, TBH, I'm growing kind of mad about the condenscesion from people who keep projecting their own beliefs unto others. FYI, I myself did watch enough dramas to know what a cliche is, and YET, I don't start judging people when the ending is NOT what most or some of them are expecting. (And yeah I took this personally, as I think it's kind of rudely formulated by you.)

Anyway, make of that what you will.

I'm loving the fathers' relationship. They're like a real couple, only they're best friends, united against the world for their kids, biological or adopted.

Ling Xiao is the one who notices the small details, JianJian is the oblivious one, and ZiQiu is the insecure one (so far). I like their dynamics, too. I feel this is going to be a great drama for me.

Also, the dialogue-only happier ending makes me realize I actually do like the sad ending the best. I thought I'd want a HE, even if hinted. But it's way better to be left with the heartache and remember the pain from time to time than have a nice ending and then forget all about it in a few weeks.

LOL, the special edition ep is still worth it at times. Like, in their pre-recorded answer section :D

Interviewer: If you could do it again, would you still nail TTJ's heart with the Soul-Slaying Nails?
LYX (before BL has a chance to play the recorded answer): "None of your business"

Every dragon has a special scale, the Heart-Guarding Scale. (I mean, every xianxia dragon does. There's no exception to the rules - even the one in BFTB has one). This one came from MingYe-as-dragon and was passed through to the immortal sects until ten thousand years later Pang YiZhi brings it with him to give to Xiao Lin for the wedding. and then the scale goes from XL to YBC to TTJ to LSS.

I mean... it's either sizzling because of 500 years in an acid bath (basically) or because there's so much electricity between them they're forced to go through lightning tribulations every other 10 eps or so, LOL.

TBH this looks very similar to every other post-apocalypse story I've ever watched (mostly). But even The Silent Sea did a better presentation in the first ep than this one. I'm of two minds if I should even continue. The whole first ep was pretty bland and unengaging, Then they dropped the shock ending to keep people clicking for the second one... Well I don't know if I will. I'm not even going to mark it on MDL until I make up my mind, because I'd very probably drop it anyway.

She took an exam to advance and misplaced the answer sheets (wrote the answers to the first batch of questions on the wrong sheet and the rest also got shifted). So she got the lowest possible grade. That's where the nickname comes from.
