There's a danmei novel I've read where the MC is a media producer. He makes a sweet school drama and times its release to air right when a huge IP xianxia gets to its middle arc, because, the MC says - xianxia ALWAYS gets to be dogblood and abuse the watchers, so when people start getting their hearts broken by the xianxia, they'd need to have an escape - and his cute school drama is it.

He makes a HUGE profit too LOL.

See, even novel characters know what's up :D (And I imagine iQiYi is now rubbing their hands in satisfaction over LIS hahaha).

TTJ and the Devil God are two different entities. For him to be forever gone, he'd have needed to BECOME the Devil God, and he didn't. He ascended when he was refining the Heart Protecting Scale (MY is a god, for someone to change his Scale that someone needs to be of similar power) and then he didn't CHANGE into DG as much as he absorbed his power, like he was absorbing demon power.

So what needed to be destroyed to stop the All-In-Distress-Way was his body and whatever is left from Devil God. TTJ's mortal soul can be saved... except his actions in the end take a very large toll so he's also gone (maybe saved in the Scale for the time being, before his soul can be put back together).

A lot of them are based on novels. If there's no HE (or not an easily achievable one), they can only work with what they have. Xianxia has always been a bloody genre LOL.

He's cosplaying HuaCheng, but his face is pretty similar to LYX from certain angles, LOL. And there WAS a moment when TTJ had that bandage around his neck and everybody was clamouring for LYX to be Xie Lian LOL :D

The world is saved through sacrifice. The love story ends in tears, but it's a victory for the one who sacrifices. You can see it as a BE because they don't stay together - there's a hope for rebirth, but a small one - or a OE because that hope is there so there's room for more.

But the whole journey is worth it. Very much worth it.

No, just very good friendship / bromance.

CGY's dad opened the successful night bar LOL, with the granny for a symbol. People are lining up in the rain to get there :D

CGY wants to be a forensic doctor, so maybe he'll only help dead people find their release, LOL.

She doesn't have a case to solve, she's the ink spirit - she's the one who links the caligrapher to the spirits he needs to help. She tells at one time she's very, very, very, VERY old. She's also not made of heart strings, so not an obsession.

She wanted to be released because PYY's grandfather didn't want to go help more spirits any more, maybe because he got scared to death when the fall incident occured - the one shown in the final ep. But now she likes PYY's kindness and "he is different" from grandpa, so she wants to stay around and help HIM solve problems.

They didn't, CGY was exhausted when ChuYing took over. When she sent the location to the detective, PYY was about to fall and it should've taken him a while to come. They probably worked for at least half an hour or so before the ambulance got there.

I wanted to smack the detective through the screen when he pulled CGY from PYY then. It's not over til it's over and the medics weren't even there, what the heck!

No, it's a happy ending for the people who matter :)

But still heartbreaking and a tearjerker. Dive in, this drama is awesome til the end!

GREEN. Olive-green, to be precise. Those green eyes were the best. And his completely unbothered expression. That man had no f**** to give. For anything LOL.

All cases solved, everyone's good. There's place for a second season or more.

Even if they didn't learn immediately, they'd have found out, because Yang (the surviving twin) had already given them the biggest clue. From there it was a very easy path to follow, they just needed to find the first step.

There were really some HILARIOUS scenes these last two eps - the other two helpers seeing the obsessions for the first time, LOL, and conking right out hahaha. And the other two going "you get used to it" and they did!! Amazing :D

I hope there'll be a second season, this is too good to end with so few eps.

Grandpa used to go solve the obsessions' cases all by himself, alone. No backup team like PYY gathered. That was one story about how he once almost died doing it - I guess it was preparation for the last ep. The ink lady saved him at that time and she's now attached herself to PYY and doesn't want to be gone either, any more.

I knew baker-boy was suspicious, didn't really expect him to be a serial child killer OMG. I was so glad he didn't use poison, or all of them would've been gone.

PYY got to meet his father. I am in total awe over Tseng JingHua's emoting in that scene, hit me directly in the heart. I must watch more from this man. And he's so effortlessly funny, LOL. When the last ep started and his mother was telling him about how his grandfather first "died", and PYY goes "what happened then to grandpa, did he die?!" with THAT expression, at the same time being (presumably) completely aware his grandfather was in fact still alive right then - OMG I was actually rolling on the floor. HILARIOUS!!

One-per redeemed herself in the end... though she'd better think before speaking from time to time. I wanted to hit her superior the detective for trying to stop CGY from giving CPR to PYY.

This drama is SO GOOD. Needs more seasons, can we have more seasons, please?

PS Also, it's totally love between PYY and CGY. Even if they're just brothers of the soul, it's love. CGY was broken when he thought PYY was going to die. And he needs an ending to the manhua too LOL.

This must be my week for tearjerking, heartbreaking drama endings.

He followed the line of them back the to the beginning. I loved that.

And GuangYan was the first to give him a "kiss" (though she followed immediately).

SECOND SEASON PLEASE!!!!!! (And third, and fourth...)

I know. It's circled back to "it's not exactly like in the novel". Childish.

I haven't read the novel. The drama's ending was good IMHO. This is an adaptation and it stands on its own. Maybe decide based on what you're watching, not what you're expecting.

No antis deciding they have a war to win. It's all the 14-yr-old mindsets giving themselves a target, sadly.
