It's worse than his love mishaps because he never really had LSS's reflexive positive reply, but with the sects and their professed missions and with Shifu and what he knows of GYJW's origins, he has the RIGHT to expect them to first come check what the hell is happening and come ready to fight evil. And instead... nobody comes. Like, what the hell was he even wasting time in the sects, then, trying to fit in?!

He was in the sect for hundreds of years, did NOT go through what XL went through, did NOT suffer anything more than the shock of a woman (who he doesn't recognize anyway) having pity s*x with him and learning he had an antecessor (who is NOT him anyway, I expect not even the soul is the same), and what?

He seems to want both MN but also doesn't want to let go of LSS? Such a waste. Master Qu would have been so disappointed with him had he known.

I liked the stucked-up Xiao Lin better than all-powerful but sad little clone. He had the same upbringing as LSS and wasted it all. Even MN knows better now that to touch him with a ten-feet pole.

Unless his sacrifice and eventual death would count as tribulations and he ascends in the end. I'd be VERY happy with such an ending but I don't have much hope.

I'll settle for even just a TU ending (a glance at most).

Then again, MR has the best redemption arcs that fail, LOL.
