When I said it's addictive... I meant it's like a sugar addiction, LOL. Ooof, getting diabetes. Also getting mad…
I'm guessing YangXi himself is some lost heir and just found his family again, and Madam Du is his mother's maid or something. So now he maybe has the backup to stand up to the Yu family and their marriage shenanigans and is trying to be clever and shield the women from the actual danger of maybe getting killed on the street by ~bandits or something. If this goes the usual way of costume dramas, the Yu family is at fault for his own danger when he was a kid, and given Madam Du's reaction to the Yu patriarch, he - Yu dad - was directly involved in it.
If he did go to his BILs for help - or at least Chai An, and they did NOT tell the wives, the Li girls are going to go to marital war, LOL.
When I said it's addictive... I meant it's like a sugar addiction, LOL. Ooof, getting diabetes. Also getting mad enough to go and break bones LOL.
(On ep 17) Du YangXi definitely has some grand scheme, but he's going about it the very hard way and I hope his BILs break his legs for him. I'd rather she went to Sang the Rock, at least he's not some scheming mastermind but a pure soul. But I guess the pairing is now set and she won't move on... Oh well.
LOLed hard at Chai An - in the same breath as "how come it's my fault" he continues "obviously it's my fault, sorry", just because KangNing is crying hahaha~. Okay, at least one of them should marry someone with a spine (and who isn't a scheming scoundrel either).
And by now I really really do hope the lost son is found - what's such a Chinese makjang story without a lost son returning from the dead?! I won't spoil myself by looking at the last eps, but I'm seriously keeping fingers crossed for such a twist :D
the fact dong jin was also present every time something happened to someone so what if it isn't she is the one…
He wasn't when the first guy got hit by lightning, or when the others got their accidents, or when the other one died because of the power lines. He was only present before the guy in the subway for his stroke, and he wasn't around anymore for that, actually, either, and neither was she.
So I guess he was just relating things that were told around the school about her, not really witnessing everything.
Though going by the preview, he's not immune to whatever it is, either.
Maybe she's just a natural null potential, LOL, her power, if it exists, seems to affect electrical currents or discharges only.
Why do shows do this ..., he should have stayed dead.If he was alive all this time, are we to assume he was keeping…
The whole present-day story took one night. It felt like a lot longer, but it was basically the afternoon of the "funeral" and then the night after. In the morning, he came back looking like he came home from the wars, so I guess he used the time to take out Bale - and hopefully we see how in the second season.
This is an addictive take on Pride and Prejudice so far, LOL, I really hope (for ShouHua's sake) that Du YangXi…
Fuhui's husband is quickly becoming a favourite, LOL. "It's a long-honoured tradition that Chinese husbands should fear their wives" hahaha, he's 999% wrapped around her finger, poor guy.
So how's my Jinyoungie in ep1? Really plan to watch this only for him
He shows an older and wiser look. And a leaner one, too, all the baby fat is gone from his face. I think he'll deliver, depending on what the plot gives him to work with.
I was really looking forward to PJY’s acting, and this is the first drama of his that I’m watching. I’m…
Try The Devil Judge as an introduction to PJY, he's been great in it, and he and Ji Sung played off each other amazingly. I think he'll shape up to be a very good actor if he sticks with it in the future.
Well, the first ep is interesting but a bit disjointed. I guess we'll get there when we get there.
So far, so good. JinYoung looks a bit more mature, and it suddenly strikes me he kinda looks a bit like MinGi, LOL. I have no impression yet of the FL, she had too little to do so far, I hope she has more to play on later.
I thought this was going to be longer, what, only 10 eps again? Why are they making half-dramas as a rule now? Boo!
Wow, I don’t like them either! Just the idea gives me the ick, but I really don't have any good reason why!…
Promiscuity, the hysteria-level of just chasing personal fun, the idolisation of pop/rock bands, drugs and booze abuse became normal, the fashion sucked big time (and the glitter poisoned everything, let's not even mention sequins), while the Americans discovered sex and forced the whole world to look on it misogyny remained, no sex ed so STDs became rampant, no accountability or resonsibility for anyone (man or woman), We're not even going to mention the US getting in everyone's business and fucking up the geopolitics of the whole world, the Iron Curtain come to think of it and all the wars immediately after the one who was supposed to stop it all for a while. The destruction of anything natural and still clean, rivers going up in flames, everybody smoking, the world's population spiralling out of control, the degradation of work relations, all unions being controlled by big money (particularly dirty money), the mafia in Europe, the breaking down of the social contract all over the world (in Europe we're a bit behind, but we're also headed there). Oh, and the lead - in petrol, in paint, everywhere, ensuring whatever minds they ever had, they would lose by the end of their lives.
All the rot covered in glitzy lights, as if pretending we're okay will make it so. And yes, it had never been a great world to live in (for the non-noble or non-rich), but at least we had been few and far apart and didn't have the media to throw it all in our faces day after day, minute after minute. And we used to have hope that each generation will leave the world off a little better than they received it.
It all started there, in the 60s and 70s, when our grandparents and parents decided they just wanted to have fun during their lifetime and wouldn't care about what they're leaving for future generations. Ever.
And now, the tail end of those generations that peaked in the 70s are dying alone in adult care centers, and they're bitter enough to steal whatever last hope was left for their grandchildren or grand-grand-children.
That era is the end of hope era, and I hate every media representation of it. Even if they show it as happy-ending and all rosey, I hate because it's all lies. It almost got a tiny bit better in the 90s, but whatever that was, it was easily spent - and not by us... but by the 60s and 70s generations, who held basically all the strings.
It was the era of greed being made god supreme. I see almost nothing good happening in it (maybe the NASA, the few civil rights won that are now being erased at lightning-speed, some other things that would make it not completely dire, but not a lot of them). So yeah, not a lot to love about it.
RE The story of the drama mentioned above - they're in the 70s and there is politics and civil rights activists around... and I can not forget how they actually became a functional democracy in the beginning of the 2000s. How am I supposed to care about the struggle that will end up being basically pointless, because it takes 30 more years and a lot of deaths and pain and general suffering to make things into what they are now - and they're not even that good now, either.)
/rant over.
Seriously, the 60s and 70s were some deeply fucked times. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil, sorry for the rant.
This is an addictive take on Pride and Prejudice so far, LOL, I really hope (for ShouHua's sake) that Du YangXi doesn't remain a Mr. Collins act-alike til the end. (on ep11 now).
Can anyone recommend some dramas like this? Plsss cuz whatever shows i watch , it cant match TU's vibe . (Im oke…
Like this? There's no other.
A bit similar? Fangs of Fortune. There are girls and they're officially romantically involved with the guys, but my deep-set impression is that the girls were hot for each other and the guys... they were on another level. LOL.
I love Oh No, Here Comes Trouble. It is so different from anything I've seen before. I want to watch it again…
This is a mystery, and they did add some school scenes in the first eps that were related to the mystery (and some that were not). I think he doesn't go around all day investigating, but the drama only has 28 eps and some school filler scenes would just waste time.
Though it's been some three eps since one of the bad guys said they were going to kill his friend in school and then we never saw him again in any setting, but neither has he come up as dead... Who knows.
I do want to get through this and I like the parts where the old cast comes in... but OMG each and every time Poison Girl's story comes back into play I check out like the pipes broke at home. Been trying to go through ep6 for a day, can't get past the "flashback." Like, they already told us what happened to her, nobody forgot, why do we need to see it every other ep? I could care less.
I'll watch this (because SKJ), but every time I read that synopsis it brings me to giggles because it seriously sounds like this is a kdrama version of Main Hoon Na :D
I'm just sad there won't be massive random singing&dancing sets of Bollywood inspiration :(
