am I the only one finding it weird that they have a middle Eastern war as the opening scene and 2nd scene is the…
I almost didn't go on because of the first four minutes with that empty but perfect highway in the desert and then suddenly a full-blown war-zone in the city that somehow appeared on that highway, LOL. But one takes everything with a big grain of salt.
from webtoon, most of s1 and a bit of s2 has been covered. No romance in webtoon. It's all about friendship.
As usual in a drama about doctors, most of them appear to live in the hospital (almost no home scenes at all), most don't have any family (none of them call home to tell people they're late or not coming over), or if they do, their family gets to use the hospital due to accidents or illnesses etc. All of their relationships (as in, friendship or enmity) are with other medical staff, LOL, all their romances are with other hospital staff... And obviously they're working 24x7, barely catching a few minutes of sleep here and there.
Dramas about doctors are meant to scare off med students, LOL.
Prepare for a long time jump. They'll be back to the present timeline at ep33 - don't skip the flashback, it's…
I haven't read it yet, (because Priest). SO FAR, my favourite characters in danmei are Chu WanNing (from 2ha), Wei WuXian (obviously), Shen QingQiu (from SVSSS), Shen ZeChuan (from QJJ), Bai Lang (from Rebirth of a Movie Star) and Wu XingZi (from You've Got Mail). And there are many others, but these above all others. And I have many more stories to still read, some of them well-known titles :D
I literally smiled so wide when I finally saw MC smile AHHHH FINALLYYYY Wu Xian (and I) was trying so hard to…
Ah, the saga of epic Jiang Cheng side-eye rolls, LOL. He is SO fed-up with WWX's antics.
And on the other side of the fence, Lan XiChen is reading LWJ's mind and tempting him with our hero being a total come-get-me... errr, I mean being so unscholarly and fun. WWX was born to annoy people.
There are quite a lot of youtube selections of JC's eyerolls caused by WWX, once you're done, you could look them up, they're hilarious :D
PS You do know the significance of bunnies in danmei, right?... And why it's so funny that LWJ LOVES bunnies and WWX is completely oblivious to it? :D
WHAT redemption arc?! She took a few years' of vacation. Abandoning her family, from senile mother to troubled…
Well, that's called taking your ball and running away with it, what're you gonna do, chase me? :D
I know you're not supporting her "redemption, what redemption" arc, LOL, I was just ranting because I just finished this mess. But now it's over, I can let go and try to forget I even watched this, which I hope on everyone who forced through. We should all go find new, better stories. Peace, out.
it started good and it went to hell in a hand basket! the story, the potential were there but the writing was all…
WHAT redemption arc?! She took a few years' of vacation. Abandoning her family, from senile mother to troubled son, all in the same mess. That side story didn't go anywhere. And the husband presumably paid back the loan he took in HER interest. Also another pointless plot device.
The MC's suicidal ideations went away because they took him to see the ocean once. The selective mutism went away because the kids who said he was a bully got him a cake and took big smiley pictures with him. Then he went and got a blow-out career and all was fine out of the blue.
And the frenemy became bestie with the husband who is now deciding kids' futures by staring in their eyes. For reasons.
And the other JinWoo was in highschool two years ago but now he teaches painting out of the sudden. Because of reasons.
And Chris went in and out of the prison with his hair still stylishly cut. They do that in prison (we won't talk about how he dealt drugs in the club but he's out in two years. Because that happens in South Korea).
I should've not wasted 12 hours on this. Too bad for the new actors.
As for the production team and older cast - take that vacation but this time for real. Make it about 10 years, please, and thanks.
Prepare for a long time jump. They'll be back to the present timeline at ep33 - don't skip the flashback, it's…
If they give me 2ha, with LYX and CFY as MCs... I don't know what I'll do with myself. Probably go in a shopping spree LOL just to defuse the nuclear explosion about to happen :D
...I'm buying all SSE edition volumes of SPL just because they're SO pretty, but I haven't even read it yet, LOL, seriously, Priest is almost my danmei nemesis. Happily SSE is doing lots of other authors I love, I'm finally a happy fujoshi among too many books I have no more shelf space for hahaha~

I haven't. TBH I don't really fall easily for anything written by Priest, so I haven't watched the eps they released before taking it down. I'm so-so about MoDu.
So, STILL AGAIN all the adults in his life SUCK. EVERYBODY. There's NO ONE on his side. And every time the plot…
I am not the one who said her husband is an enabler, I think he's just a lame, weak, resigned person who doesn't even dare leave his wife. And I haven't forgotten his first intention as soon as they found out about the self-harm was to try and find the fastest way to get rid of him. He's the same as her, just not always in the focus.
And "ignoring everything just for (his/her) son" is exactly how she justifies her actions. Nobody asked the kid - who is now almost an adult - what he thinks about all those "sacrifices" made in his name.
how is it a pity party? it's about a man who has abandonment issues from toxic, gaslighting adults which is a…
Okay, so are YOU an insider, then? What are you basing your opinion on how things are actually, real life experience, or gossip/other dramas?
If this was made by an industry insider it would be called a documentary, there would be something to follow up on and maybe it would lead to something changing. Since it's not, this is a fictional story that they used to mock all watchers (for even watching it). And there's no purpose to it other than using (at least) 10 episodes to deal abuse and outright cruelty on people who do not deserve it in the least, and I don't know how they'll try to end it (no time to watch right now). I am neither a sadist or a masochist and I don't need so much of other's (fictional) pain at once, so it'll keep, I guess.
Its 4 Am I should be sleeping but let me just say this, you are absolutely entitled to your own opinion and it's…
I liked the drama. Not to the heavens, but I liked it.
As for ratings (on MDL or elsewhere), over time I've grown disenchanted with it and the "spirit of fair play and community" or whatever - I've seen people hating some drama or actor on sight, or raving about it before the first episode ever dropped. So I don't look at the ratings before starting - actually, I tend to wait til the heat goes down for some dramas, no matter their ratings.
I still wish it aired weekly or on some paced schedule instead of releasing at once. It would have given me, at least, time to forget (or even cause me to not notice) the things that bothered me.
But to each their own, so enjoy whatever drama you enjoy and don't mind anyone else. I know I will. :)
Started off with a big bang, got bogged in hospital politics in the middle, ended up tropey as hell. And the main…
As for the South Sudan arc, why the hell didn't he go there ASAP if he knew the resources were there? It doesn't make sense to wait til they resect half the man's small intestine, dammit.
Then the whole all-specialities-into-one because he's a trauma surgeon served well in the beginning, but it became pretty repetitive (I know that's not the point of the drama, but it really doesn't actually work that way, even with war-scene surgeons. Eventually it broke through the suspension-of-disbelief roof.)
And the petty characters are way too petty - like, seriously, that anesthesiologist should be fired, nobody working in a hospital refuses to go on OR when called and on duty anyway, what the heck.
The fighting over the budget really got annoying - we all got it, right? Helis cost money. Trauma medicine costs money. There are no real money for the doctors in trauma centers and no fame and no glory (most patients do not really make it unscathed). And not a peep in all this talk about money regarding the costs to the patient - like they're just lifted from wherever, operated on with the costliest apparati and meds... and who pays for all that? Because we've seen the dramas where they can't do this or that because they have to pay for hospitals. Ain't nobody going to go "how the fuck am I paying for this?" Or did they all just happened to have extremely good insurance and/or were they all billionaires?
This would've worked better as a weekly rather than a binge for me at least, it would've given me time to sort through and forget the nonsensical parts.

ETA The very BEST thing about this drama is that it is now OVER. Phew.
The MC's suicidal ideations went away because they took him to see the ocean once. The selective mutism went away because the kids who said he was a bully got him a cake and took big smiley pictures with him. Then he went and got a blow-out career and all was fine out of the blue.

This drama. I am so sorry for all the young cast actors who did their best. All for nothing.
I can't even

And the main character is basically Yang JaeWon, LOL.
Somehow I wanted something different, but oh well, one can't have them all. The newbies were all okay, so there's that, at least.
