So many plot holes now. Starting from his mother, how did she die, suicide or heart attack then, to why his father is still poor, the looks, that recording... everything from 2-14 is pointless.

I was really looking forward to that last scene because it was so satisfying to see him at the place of his murder, now a super successful, fulfilled man who got them back and instead we got this mess 🤦

She wrote it to subvert expectations for the sake of subverting expectations, not for the sake of wrapping up the plot as a logical, satisfying whole. And she did it because of her own ego. That can always result in only one thing - absolute misery.

In the novel, after the grandfather dies (this part was also different), Do Joon takes care of the grandmother, buys SY and merges it with Miracle, thereby completing his goal. He is married to the prosecutor (a judge in the novel).

At the very end, he goes to the place where Hyun Woo was murdered, going full circle, accepting his new life and his success.

So, so much better and impactful.

You can't apply logic to this because the ending was written to be "creative"; creative for the sake of being creative, not as a wrap up to the actual story.

It's a question of ego and vanity, regardless of whether they are adapting an original work or not. They want to show off their genius by overcomplicating or doing "unexpected" things when in reality a nice, simple, logical ending would do.

Gender is irrelevant, egos are simply massive in creative types (try painters, even worse in my experience 😭) and it shows in stuff like this. Lose the gender in your post and it's absolutely correct and unlikely to change.

Eh. There is beauty in simplicity. This is unfortunately a lesson that still needs to be learned, especially when egos of writers come into play, it seems impossible. And we suffer.

I didn't tell people to grow up because I don't agree with their interpretation of the show or their feelings, you did.

The last episodes annul the whole of the show for me. Everything was for nothing. So yes, I am damn sure I want to give them a "nothing". One extra star goes for the acting or it would have been 1.

We have different opinions about the whole show, not just the ending because the show exists within the context of the ending.

If you didn't want to make it about gender you would not have inserted female there. You could have written some writers but instead you emphasied gender.

I guess the screenwriter couldn't handle adapting the original material and wanted to show how they are even better, even more creative? And here we are.

It's vanity.

The screenwriter knows that the success is due to the original writer. And their giant egos cannot take that. So they want to prove they are even better writers by hugely deviating from the original material.

It's a look at me, look how great I am attempt. And every single time someone pulls that, it turns into trash. Look at GoT.
