They buy anything their idols endorse, multi-buy songs, lock screenings etc. Basically we are talking about those who have (a large amount of) money circulating around them.

It's not a good label in China so you will see actors and actresses who are serious about their work trying to get rid of this label by acting in less commercial, more serious productions, with non traffic actors, etc. Its actually a dreadfully difficult transition because shaking off that image of idol and money machine is not easy, regardless of your skills and talent. XZ himself is definitely on this road, trying to earn a real actor reputation. He is doing well!
