I found this really cute. It's a good drama to watch if you want to distract yourself from your reality. So I recommend it to people who are feeling a bit down. I liked it :)
I just finished rewatching it. Already knowing the storyline, I no longer carried the same expectations I had the first time I watched it. This made me see The Eclipse in a new light; a lot softer is the only comparison I can think of right now that expresses the feelings I felt whilst watching it for the 2nd time. It made me appreciate The Eclipse even more and it made me feel an even stronger connection to the characters compared to the first time I completed it. I cried just the same during the sweet moments of the last episode.
I’m resisting, I want to rewatch when I don’t really remember some of the stuff that happens so I’ll wait…
I get that. But I’ve been following The Eclipse for over a month now, watching 1 episode/week. So now I’m gonna binge it to kind of refresh my memory and to once again experience all of the emotions the drama gave me.
I used to have a “rewatch only once a year” thing with myself because I rewatch a lot of stuff. But I broke the rule 4 times with Bad Buddy this year so after that I just stopped caring about it lol.
I was critiquing the drama quite harshly in the beginning and it was largely due to my expectations. But as the story progressed, as well as the incredible acting, I came to see the core focus (from my pov) of the drama.
The Eclipse is a character driven drama focusing on internal conflicts, especially Akk's complex mind. Akk is a fantastic character and I think that's largely due to First being able to express Akk's emotions so well. First was the main reason why this drama peaked my interest since I've been a fan of his since Not Me. I loved seeing the gradual change in his eyes as the story progressed. First has a talent where he can perfectly depict a character's thoughts and emotions only though his eyes. What First said is definitely true: "the best thing about Akk is his character development"! I was not disappointed.
I also did not expect to cry this much; didn't know I was this attached. I loved seeing them happy together. The last episode is definitely one of the best! I loved Akk and Ayan's relationship development throughout the series. They found comfort in each other and grew together; it was beautiful. I was prepared to give this an 8/10, but after having watched the last episode I'm giving it an 8,5/10 because it was just so nice ♡

Someday or One Day is my favourite drama of all time and I have yet to see any other that can match it. But there are many emotional romance dramas out there. Don't expect them to be the same as Someday or One Day, but I can give you a few recommendations:
Shining For One Thing – it has time travel in it as well More Than Blue the Series – VERY sad tho 18 Again – if you feel emotional over family love, it also has a lot of comedy Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai – a very calm BL with no drama, and many beautiful scenes and lines The Day of Becoming You – completely different story about body swapping, but I found their romance very beautiful when I watched it
Hope this helps a little. But like I said, I haven't seen any other drama that is as beautiful as Someday or One Day.
