First of all, the side couple was adorable, they had a sweet and funny story, along with great chemistry. Also, the redemption of the chef was smoothly done and an interesting side plot to follow.
In addition, the second female lead was a strong lady whose story was probably more interesting than the main female lead's, especially since her character had more spine, even though her story wasn't properly presented.
However, the rest of the drama didn't have anything new to offer. The romance was boring and offered few surprises. Not to mention that the couple had few moments together, relying heavily on their common background story to justify their romance. The love triangle was predictable and boring as well.

Korean Drama " Curtain Call " is a family melodrama with a sweet and emotional story. The drama does a great job of presenting the relationship between the grandmother who is trying to heal her old wounds, and her fake grandson, who discovers that he is yearning for a family as well.
On the other hand, there were some things that the drama handled awkwardly. The romance, for instance. It was unnecessary and shifted the focus from the family drama to the couple, who were cute together, yes, but most of the time the female lead thought that the male lead was A) her cousin, and B) a married man. The love triangle was, moreover, doomed from the start.
Also, the situation with the real grandson was oddly managed. For some reason, and even though the drama kept pointing out that he wasn't really a bad person, they also wanted the audience to love the male lead more than him. At least, they gave an almost proper ending for everyone in the end.
The performances, finally, were all great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Japanese Drama " Kekkon Surutte, Honto Desu Ka? " is a contract marriage drama. However, and even though the performances from the main leads were enjoyable and there were some cute moments, with an interesting main story, the drama got overcomplicated for no reason. It was silly for the main lead to keep refusing her partner, when she was the one who was hoping that he would ask her out for real and she was the first one who got jealous when they were nothing but partners in crime.
Anyway, other than that, and not considering the second female lead who overdo it by trying to be cute and friendly, the rest of the drama was smooth and enjoyable.
So, overall, six out of ten.
