A sweet story about strangers who meet and giving chances to people
around you, as well as having a second chance in life. The main
characters are outcasts by their society, misfits that they work
together to produce the best sweet red bean paste pan cakes that
quickly become popular. There is tragedy in the movie, but the
makeshift family that those misfits create is sweet, as only those
three could understand and support each other. The performances are
great, without overdoing it with the dramatic element and thus making
everything more realistic. The scenes are beautiful, with the spring
cherry blossoms the meddle with the people's tragedies. Overall, a nice
film, so 6 out of 10. PS even my mom who avoids Japanese (and non
English films in general) loved it, if that helps.

A mini drama part of a bigger project, that started really strong, but failed to give a satisfying ending. The concept of this drama is very clever and original: a girl grim reaper, who used to be a fan-girl for a famous singer, is trying to keep her idol alive. So, the first episodes were really good. They were funny and cute and the romance was exiting. Towards the middle, the romance started to develop, and it was a nice romantic story, but the ending was really confusing, at least for me, and felt like they were wrapping things up for the next story. I wish they had explained what happened more. Also, the jump forward seven years later didn't felt like it, and, honestly, it was like some of the chemistry between the couple vanished. So, 5 out of 10 for Universe's star.

Moorim school tries hard to be different than the other K Drama, however it doesn't escape the unavoidable fate of being a romantic drama. The concept of the school and the secret community, as well as the martial arts wasn't delivered well, with the competition and the courses being poorly presented. Plus, the friendship between the two male lead characters was overshadowed by the romance. But, other than that, Moorim School is an okay drama.

One of the classics to watch when you are into K drama. Though the romance is the main theme, the back stories are okay too and keep the interest high till the end. Plus the whole girl dresses up as a boy is very interesting and common theme for many dramas, as it makes it entertaining for the audience with the thrill of finding her out and all the goofiness that follows her tries to keep her identity hidden. The awkward moments were too many, especially in the beginning, with the lead actress making a total fool of her self in any way possible. The weakest points of this drama, however, was the music, as the same songs were being repeated over and over (the drama the entertainer did the same, though it contained more songs in its soundtrack). Plus, the whole illusion of Gemma's nun mother was simply unnecessary and a little childish. But all in all an okay drama, so 5 out of 10.

Unexpectedly, Secret Garden is quite entertaining. Sure, the story and the romance wasn't the best of the best, and the performances were so so, but still I can understand why this drama is so popular. First of all, the drama is about a rich, cynical CEO who meets a poor stand woman who gets his interest. Their lives get even more complicated, when they magically change bodies. Okay, the magic part wasn't that good. It was a little childish at first, but it had a not-that-great explanation in the end. And the body exchange was very entertaining the first time, but the second time was just uncomfortable. The main male character was very funny, due to his character, and in the end, that was the only thing supporting the drama. For me, the twenty episodes were a bit too much; the story could have easily finish at the sixteenth or the eighteenth episode, and still, it would have been as good, as the final episode was a quick wrap up, mixed up with a few concert songs, some flash backs and family life moments. So, 6 out of 10.

Ugh, missing nine! This was a really good drama, until the ending ruined it. That and some other little parts. The story is pretty good, as it wasn't the typical romantic comedy. It was rather thrilling to watch how the story developed till the final episode. However, in the end, many things were left unanswered. Like, the romance never got to be "finalized" and left you thinking if they were actually attracted to each other or not. Or the murderer case, as everyone seemed fine with it. I mean, they were kind of all calm about the whole situation even from the island, where none panicked over the fact that a serial killer was among them. And there is the whole Yeol case. I'm not a fan of the idol, but I did wait to see if they found him or not. At least, it would have been nice if there was some closure to that one. But those were the actual negatives of this drama. On the other hand, it was very intense watching it. The performances were great and you could sympathise with the victims or feel rage with the villains. So, solemnly because the ending left many questions unanswered, I'm rating this drama 7 out of 10.

Classic, classic, classic!! I loved this show from episode one!! Though towards the ending, it wasn't as good as the first episodes, it was still funny and interesting. Well, the story is a mess at the beginning, but it gets better after the third episode and the humour is good enough to keep you entertained. The romance is so cute, as the chemistry between the two lead roles is great. You can sense it from the beginning that those two are either going to kill each other or fall in love. And they almost do kill each other! The side stories weren't that great, as they were there only to fill the gap between the scenes and they merely helped the development of the story. The performances were good as well (well, most of them) and I liked the development of the characters, as they changed each other gradually. All in all, one of my favs so far and with a great soundtrack!!

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'The Defects' is a dark thriller.

For a short drama, the story is nicely developed, even though there were some twists that were rushed. Still, the idea was enjoyably unfolded, with a satisfying ending to a frustrating story. They also manage to fit in the main story the children's stories, which added much to the emotional impact of the story. Moreover, the action scenes were entertaining.

Finally, the performances were all great.

So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Tastefully Yours' is a culinary romantic comedy.

The drama has nice settings and a good idea behind the plot, but the rest was average. The comedy was overstretched, the politics underdeveloped, and the romance, which was the main ingredient of the drama, failed to impress. It was badly paced and was not convincing. It also lacked intensity and sweet moments. The scenes of the restaurant were nice, though.

Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Pump Up the Healthy Love' is a slice-of-life romantic comedy.

The drama has an interesting plot and a light mood, with enjoyable comedy and funny characters. The performances were great as well. The fluff of the story continued all the way to the final episodes, which, however, were a let-down. The romance was underdeveloped and was rushed to be added to the story, while the cheesy twists in the end were also rushed and poorly handled. The side stories were also underdeveloped and touched only on the surface.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Oh My Ghost Clients' is a comical fantasy with many emotional stories.

The drama delves into many themes and matters and has many cases to drive the point home. Though the start was rocky, with the fantasy element being presented poorly, the emotional impact of the ghost cases made up for it. Also, the drama was suspenseful till the very final episode.

However, the drama never goes too deep into the main characters' lives and personalities, which was a letdown.

Still, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama ' I Am A Running Mate ' is a school political drama.

The story is unique, but the main idea is not fleshed out nicely. Still, the first episodes were enjoyable, and the performances were nice enough to keep things decent. The back and forth of the storyline in the first minutes of each episode was a nice touch as well.

However, the story only touched on the many themes that it presented and never got too deep. Also, everything happened too fast and was not properly developed.

Finally, the ending was questionable and many things didn't make sense.

So, overall, three and a half out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Kick Kick Kick Kick' is an office comedy.

The drama has many interesting characters, with the two main leads and their dynamics being the heart of the story. The latter was entertaining, with okay jokes, but some heartwarming plotlines. The pace was also fast and it suited the drama well.

The performances were all great as well by every actor and actress in the cast.

However, the ending was rushed, and the romance could and probably should have been omitted.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Hyper Knife' is a medical criminal drama.

The story is quite complex, and it centers around the two surgeons who are both geniuses in their field and, thus, both similar. The drama is not afraid to dig deep and to present a morally gray character who has her own way of thinking when it comes to life and death.

However, and even though the story was moving at breathtaking speed, the drama, despite all the twists and turns, had a messy ending, and it got tiring to follow the two main leads. So, a strong start, but a weak ending for this drama.

The performances, on the other hand, were all strong and great.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Friendly Rivalry' is a school drama about an obsessive relationship between two classmates and a dark secret.

The drama has impressive cinematography, especially when it came to presenting the characters. The psychological drama was also well handled and presented, and that added to the dark mood of the drama.

The plot was also enjoyable, though the finale was rushed and the twists, some of them at least, didn't make a lot of sense.

The characters were also interesting and the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, seven out of ten.
