maybe you should rewatch that scene, Techno was clearly conscious and clearly enjoying it. the only problem with…
Maybe I can help by using your last metaphor. You said, "it's like I'm telling people that the sky looks blue from here and all I'm hearing back is everyone insisting on it not being orange." The reason I disagreed is because you're insisting on saying "I'm saying the sky looks blue" but you're actually saying "the sky may look blue but it's actually different shades of orange if you dissect it" so everyone is vehemently saying "the sky isn't orange, period. Why are you trying to pass it off like it is?" It probably is your phrasing, and I'm sorry if you're being misunderstood but I don't think you are. In your saying I'm telling people the sky is blue but they're all coming back to me and saying the sky isn't orange, that phrase in itself to me means you don't understand that you're not actually saying what you think you're saying. People keep telling you the sky isn't orange because you're insinuating it is even if you think you're not. Speaking in metaphor is so roundabout sorry if that was more confusing.

If multiple people are coming away with the same understanding, I'm pretty sure the problem doesn't lie with how they're interpreting what you're saying....but what you're actually saying. You're literally sitting there writing paragraphs in support of rape culture, is there no self-awareness there? I don't understand how that's not coming across at all, or why there's so little understanding of why people are so disturbed by what you're saying. In my opinion there is zero debate on this, zero, and it's frankly alarming to see someone trying to debate it.

My perception is 100% different. The retold Tin&Can story is much softer and less forceful. I sometimes wonder…
I guess I prefer both Tin and Can to be more feisty. There was also a humorous element to their dynamic that I feel like is missing with this series, Can basically taking the piss out of Tin was something I really enjoyed and I think showed him not to take himself or things too seriously. Their story-line is dragging imo, we've had zero plot development after six episodes focused on them from last season where they barely had any screen-time. What's the point of dragging it out further if nothing is different other than a lack of chemistry between the two of them? There hasn't actually been any character development, zero, and I at least expected that within 6 episodes. We have Tin vacillating between being unhinged and being a complete doormat. Then Can or Plan or both being so uncomfortable it just leaves me on edge as a viewer. I can't enjoy watching a love story when one side feels forced. The one scene that felt like a massive improvement to me was the scene where Can is angry at Tin for trying to buy his affection with the phone. I'm not saying their plot in season 1 was perfect, it was passable at best, but this being somehow even worse to me is wholly unexpected. Someone early on when this series was announced commented that TinCan couldn't carry an entire series, I disagreed but now I'm starting to think they were right. It's great you're enjoying it, different strokes and all that.

Does anyone know if Tul's book is translated somewhere?
As far as I know I think it's translated on WattPad or at least partly translated, though I would...probably read the warnings about it before attempting to read it, just in case. For anyone who may have issues with rape/torture it could be pretty triggering.

Finally, are we finally going into furthering the plot from last season? This is what I've been holding on for, though I'm doubting I should be holding my breath at all. Everything I've seen so far has been a watered-down version of season 1. I get they're trying to pull out TinCan's story to develop it but as rushed as it was in season 1, maybe it was a good thing? This constant reluctance from Can is making me really uncomfortable. I'm starting to realize that this is my problem with 90% of Mame's characters and the pattern is starting to get disturbing. At least in the first season, I felt like there was some amount of push/pull between the two of them. This season I'm not so convinced. It feels like Can's forcing himself to do things for Tin because he feels bad for him and they've established this borderline gay for pay situation where Can gives in to him as "payment", not because there's any romantic interest in his part. Yes, Can "says" he feels things he can't explain but his actions say the complete opposite. Last season it was more obvious that he was feeling something for Tin without him having to spell it out which is interesting. I'm hoping this changes now that we're moving into them potentially being a couple after Can's initial rejection.

As much as Tin's scenes are gut-wrenching and he's portraying them so well, I miss the fire and hardness his character had in season 1. This season he just feels like a kicked dog. In season one I felt like he could take on Tul and win, in this season it just feels like he's given up already, it's depressing to watch. And then you add Ae into the mix? Not even going to comment about No and Kla because just...no. I don't know why I'm bothering at this point but I also feel like I've made it this far on the hope that the further development of the plot will help since it will be something I can't compare to season 1.

I'll be honest in saying that's one relationship you don't want to know about, but as far as I know they end up together.

I'm sorry but impaired consent isn't consent. Period. It's still rape if someone is too impaired to give consent because they don't consciously know what they're doing, please do not perpetuate something so vile to explain away a plot trope.

What are you supposed to do with that source material? The writer is horrible. I like Tin&Can, so I guess she…
Um...Mame's written everything up to this point, she got the rights back for this series and it's a huge reason why it's such a mess. To be very honest even the writing in her novel isn't very good, everything about her characters is very fetishized. It's popular but for all the wrong reasons imo

This is quickly becoming my new favorite series! I am so pleasantly surprised by everything about it, from the storyline to the actors to the writing. This past episode I think they did such a good job of highlighting how insidious homophobia can be, like racism. People are so quick to pull the "but my xyz is gay" like that somehow makes you impervious to being homophobic or to still have homophobic tendencies. I'm interested to see how they portray Karl's struggle with his sexuality, I like that they added his uncle as part of his story and I wonder how they're going to develop that. I'm also really enjoying Vlad's character right now, he's probably what pulled me into this series the most.

Judah really rubs me the wrong way, it makes it really hard for me to root for him. He's everything that bothers me about people who don't respect boundaries in relationships. He's immature, needy, spoiled, and self-centered, plus his dramatics over every little thing are so grating. I get where they're going with this series, but so far it's really been hard for me to watch, even though the premise and writing is really strong.

Right now I'm only watching for MaiWan and OngsahNorth, the series as a whole is so convoluted I've given up trying to make sense of it so I just try to make sense of the storylines I care about lol I'm still rooting for Arm and Ten, I love their friendship and I definitely feel like there's more there. Indy and Jedi is just confusing, though we've had some clarity in recent episodes that they fought over a misunderstanding but it's still bizarre to me that they're the main couple as they've fallen so far off the radar.

I also wish Kanya and Ice's relationship wasn't so...toxic. They've spent the whole series tearing each other down and saying horrible things to each other.

I dissagree about the Philippines. They have some good ones but they have been putting out so much and most of…
I agree. As much as we've gotten a few great series from the Philippines the majority have been very hit and miss (mostly miss). In trying to capitalize on the success of Gameboys we've had an influx of very poorly conceived and produced series. I think people also have to remember that Thailand have had years of series, and we've had some really great ones as well. It's just as hit and miss. It honestly depends on who is doing the writing and production and if they care enough to put out a quality product. At this point that is a big fat negative from Mame, and I'm disappointed in New for this quality of work as well. This should have been better.

I don't know what it is. I wasn't particularly interested in Gui and Solo's story at all when I first read the premise of the novel/series but now I've really begun to look forward to it. I don't know if it's the chemistry between the two of the actors (Solo's stares are something else, let me tell you) or what, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying them right now. There is something refreshing about Solo seducing Gui hah he knows what he wants and he certainly knows how to get it. Gui being confused but not fighting it either has been a pleasant turn of events as well. I'm skeptical about the rest but we'll see how it continues on. I'm a little worried the pacing is going to make things stale, but so far my only complaints are with some of the side characters.

Ugh. God. Now we're getting Hin and Tul and their sick, twisted relationship? I seriously can't. I don't know if I can keep watching this. I almost fell asleep three times trying to get through episode 4. I'm just hoping to make it through the reboot scenes to TinCan's actual storyline as I'm hoping things will improve from there but I don't know...

One positive of this show is that it does show the reality that dating doesn't necessarily lead to a happy ending and that relationships sometimes just don't work out. Other than that it was a confusing jumble of events that led from point A back to point A. The best part of this series was the theme song...and Tita Cassie...and the introduction of Niko Badayos into my life lol can he get his own series because uh...yeah.

This was pretty good. I think at least Tine and Wat were somewhat of an improvement from the series, they got their original chemistry back on track I think. I like that they showed their development into a solid partnership and relationship through some level of communication, and they did have some sweet moments. It was a little strange that it took them actually living together for months to start acting like they were actually dating but whatever. Phukong and Mil were still unbearably awkward imo and I still love Man and Type, even if Type's stiffness is a little off-putting at times (though there are people like his character so I wasn't too bothered by it). The worst, absolute worst, part of this series was Dim. Oh my God I could not stand his character. Like...wth. He's horrible! As much as Green isn't a perfect character either, Dim is so demeaning and honestly borderline abusive toward him (I heard he's actually abusive in the novel which...smh). His character was so much more off-putting than it was in the original series and I didn't even like him then. And it's not even just Green, he doesn't even treat his friends or Nong's very well either. Why was he even still there? The fact that he had already graduated and was hanging around being a complete terror just for the hell of it was so aggravating. I don't think I would have had nearly as much trouble watching this if it wasn't for Dim's prominent role in everything that was wrong with this.
