Orchid is the missing Goddess of Xishan, Xiyun (CH's fiancé). She can purify evil qi (Rong Hao tested her with a wilted plant in ep 7) and bring dead back to life (her blood can revive the dead flower and DFQC). Basically, her power is resurrection and not combative. The previous Goddess of War is like her aunt. They are from the Xilan Tribe that got wiped out.
Rong Hao had Jeli put his master's blood/spirit in the Bone Orchid bracelet (made from DFQC's blood) that she wears. Chidi woman's spirit feeds on her spiritual power to restore her body, but this will kill Orchid. In ep. 28 When Orchid and DFQC met on the bridge and kissed under the big moon, we see the bracelet locked. This is the moment Orchid fell deeply in love w/ DFQC. She could no longer remove the tainted bracelet unless she falls out of love with him.

This also demonstrates the difference of their position or status. CH is too young and under the thumb of his brother, who cannot bravely pursue her (he even pushed her under the bus to apease him), and then DFQC can do what he wants and he tells the whole world.
