There is only auto English subtitles for the drama. The YouTube link I posted in my comment below seems to have mostly good subtitles that is in-sync with the scenes.

Ep. 18 is a tough one to watch. I won't say she is trying to mend DFQC and his father's relationship. Orchid is upset when she hears that DFQC is having his brother killed. That's the pity of gaining his emotions back because, in the past, he behaved objectively and impartially, but we now see him getting worked up and applying punishment heavy-handedly. This is the only time he behaves the way people expected him to, like a monster that kills his own family, which is unlike his normal self. She doesn't want DFQC to repeat this and be misunderstood to be a monster. When she confronts DFQC, he says his father never loved him, (maybe he's thinking of the time after he started getting tortured and did not consider the happy part of his childhood or when the time when he can wield the Hellfire sword), but there is so much more to this, that Orchid is on a mission to get the back story on what lay behind Old Moon Supreme's words, actions and death.

If you are the Old Moon Supreme, do you have a better choice? Only the Hellfire can defeat Shuiyuntian, otherwise everyone in the Moon Tribe will be dead. His father stopped smiling because he was upset his favorite son can wield the Hellfire sword, which means he was going to have to be tortured or sacrificed to be able to wield Hellfire. Xunfeng has the heart to care for his own people as well, but he really doesn't have the capacity or smarts to lead the Moon Tribe. I'm sure it is what their dad saw early on, that DFQC really has the talent to do so. Frustratingly, the father never explained that to DFQC (like father, like son). DFQC carried a great burden of hatred and unforgiveness because of this.

DFQC really loves his father. I think DFQC did not kick the ball back to his father because, in that moment, the pain he is feeling overpowers him that it is impossible to forgive. At least now they have a mutual understanding and there is closure and thankfully Orchid is there to help him.

I cried on my rewatch of this scene. Poor DFQC feels her disappointment after all her excitement. He looks so sad holding the Jade Ring in his hand. At this moment, he still does not understand the nature of attachment to loved ones—that it goes far beyond the outer appearances. He asks her, “Similar? Isn’t it good? ……Why do you still want to leave?” He is feeling what she's feeling, but he really can't figure it out. 😢

He gives her the key to the Pavilion of Spiritual Treasures. “It can open all the treasure houses. It's yours now."
When Jeili got caught stealing, she lied to DFQC that Orchid would like those things.

Good catch! Orchid has been spending all her salary to purchase those elixirs from Jeili to cure her roots for 1000 yrs. This was mentioned by her plant spirit friends (ep 1) when she asked them help pay for another elixir to pass the examination. Jeili has been ripping her off all this time.

There are some comedy, especially with all the swoony things he says to her without knowing. The OST is the best.

She is adorable to me. I actually miss Orchid after she became the stoic Goddess. 🌸 Glad you enjoyed this drama, it’s my favorite that I keep rewatching.

There is not a long time skip between those two episodes. From beginning to ep. 25, according to DFQC, the time span is 3 months.

Leo’s been acting since he’s a child. He is still young and will get better. He also seems to have friendly personality and is a funny guy.
