So, I have to say again, I did not watch the entire show. I just watched a few clips here and there to see if it was even worth watching. The show starts with the female lead’s husband cheating on her. She leaves him and meets a kind police officer. It looks like she might find love again with this police officer. But, in the last episode, she gets back with her cheating husband. She is living with her husband’s family, serving them fruit to snack on while they all watch TV news. As the female lead is serving the food, she sees that her former BF, the police officer, was gravely injured in the line of duty and might die from his injuries. She is shocked and stumbles into the kitchen crying. She wipes away her tears. Then, she runs out of the house, while her husband calls after her. The last scene is just a shot of her running down the street crying and the screen fades to black. What kind of ending is that? I have never seen that kind of ending in any weekend family drama. I have to think, maybe the ratings weren’t good and the show was cancelled before a proper ending was filmed? Usually family weekend dramas have nice ending where everyone gets some kind of resolution. Here’s the link to the last clip of the last episode. None of it’s subbed, so you need some understanding of Korean. And, KBS drama posted the episodes as a bunch of clips, so you have to search around for them, if you want to watch the full show.
Does anyone know how/why they have so many well known American actors in this production? Usually in most kdramas, they just cast a random non-actor that can speak English. I was very surprised to see so many actors from American tv and film in this series.
I know right!! It's been awhile we got such a good daily show. I don't think they produced anything good for years
i think it depends why you watch daily dramas. I like to watch the evil characters suffer 🤣🤣🤣. If the evil characters get forgiven at the end, hate it, my rating tanks. I also really liked Happy Sisters and Home for Summer.

Just reading other people’s comments, it seems that the novel and drama are pretty different. Also, since only half of it is even translated, I wasn’t sure it was worth it.

There is that flashback in episode 12 where Yurong wins first place in the exams and Fangfei waits outside the palace. Then, there is another flashback where Yurong is in court official robes and Fangfei is waiting outside the palace and the princess touches Yurong arm and says “did you come to see me?” Fangfei is in the same dress, so I thought it was the same day. Also in ep 1, Yurong asks to marry Fangfei saying, “she stood by me when I was a nobody, but I have power and status now.” I assume he got status and power because he achieved first place in the exams and was appointed a court official. So, I think the sequence of events is, Yurong wins first place in exams, he is appointed court official, he meets the princess at some point while he is in the palace and then he goes to ask to marry Fangfei. Regardless, I still want to know the circumstances of his meeting the princess. Why did he start the affair with the princess? For more power and status? Or because the princess pressured him? Still curious.
