I thought season 3 was the ending. It sort of concluded the story with her getting out of the book and running into the ML who is nothing like the book character and who had no chemistry with her in the real world.
My only problem with this drama is the script. The acting is great especially for the ML. But some of the lines are really CRINGE and most of the twist just create plotholes. All the characters seem greate at the start, but the writing just ruins them all at some point in the sense that the actions of the characters don't make sense such as Tang Li. Tang Li started off great, a strong independent woman wanting to expand her business, but how and why did she all of a sudden become obsessed with a man she doesn't know at all and want to basically ruin her life to be with him. Her character arc for the majority of this drama in relation the the ML makes no sense. I'll have to say the same about Manning, from being kidnapped and threatened by the ML she is out of nowhere obviously in love with him (whilst he was still threatening her). They all seemed sane at the start, but at the end everyone just went mad.
The twists in this drama keep creating unnecessary or just random plot holes. Example: For a whole episode they made us think Manning's father killed Yan Yi's parents, Manning'sfather even admitted it, they even broke up because of this leaving Yan Yi all alone. And then like 2 episodes later Manning's father admits that it wasn't him that killed Yan Yi's parents it was someone else. I love that it wasn't Manning's father, but WHY did he ever say to Yan Yi that he killed Yan Yi's parents when he didn't.
There are just so many plots in this drama that make you go WHY.
Wait a damn minute is Xingcheng and Xinyan brother and sister? if so I find it weird he falls in love and gets…
They are first cousins, they share a grandfather. They didn't see each other for 17 years, he didn't even meet Xinyan when he found her and only saw her after she died next to Manning. I don't think looks matter in this case because he only knew how Xinyan looked from that one picture he got a hold of at the start of the first episode, they also said all information about her was hidden until then. He never knew older Xinyan personally, so he technically never knew her with the same face as Manning.
On episode 16 and I have to say this drama is CRINGE. Good plot for the leads, great chemistry. But what is with the crazy SFL Tang Lin. I don't understand her, I thought i would like her, but she is insane and I skip her scenes because I don't feel bad for her at all. She is chasing the ML obsessively despite obviously knowing he doesn't like her at all. And what is with the ML getting engaged to her so that he can fulfill his task to basically rebuild his family name and company (both of which at this point are doing fine). He knows he has other ways to fulfill this task and yet he breaks up with the FL and immediately gets engaged to the SFL, I hated him for that. The FL had to humiliate herself again to get the ML back, at that point I just wanted her to leave him or even forget about him through some amnesia storyline (which could potentially be a storyline considering how this drama is going and all the trauma she went through because of him). I just want the FL to leave him and make him do all the work for once, yes he saved her multiple times after being the one to put her in danger, but it was always her chasing him.
From the cover picture, it looks like a love triangle or something, but every other picture and the synopsis makes it seem like a BL. There are no tags or anything, but the comment section makes it seem as though it is jot a BL. Is this a BL or not? I want a bromance not BL.
I watched 10 episodes. This drama is too heartbreaking, and the heartbreak has only begun. I've read spoilers of this drama, and I can't stand it already. I am dropping this.
Haven't viewed his profile in a while love that he is getting more recognition. Last watched him play the support role in Heart of Loyalty, loved his character. And the main role in "The Coolest world" (personally hated that drama). He seems to be getting a lot more better roles but when is "Winner is Kimg" and "Wullin has Pride" coming out? It has been listed for longer than his current show "The Blood of Youth" has been.
Sorry, peacock girl is the SFL's Sui He (she is a literal peacock) and the SML is the ML's half brother Run Yu. Love triangle: second leads like the main leads.
Sui He got on my neves from the very begining, she is horrible from the start, she won't grow on you but towards the end her obsession with the ML was quite admirable.
Run Yu was the SML who was in love with the FL. He also becomes a villain of sorts in the story. But he is a very well written character and it is completely understandable why he becomes the villain. He starts off as one of the best characters in the drama, he was really close and always protected his brother, but he is the older brother and a bastard who the Empress (ML's mother) despises. He becomes a villain rightfully so, but he also tries to ruin the relationship between the main leads which he was only able to do so because the FL was incapable romantic love. I really liked his storyline, a really good anti-hero rather than outright villain arc, I think some people found his persistence annoying, but I loved Run Yu's relationship with both the ML and FL, and unlike other dramas with sibling rivalry, the siblings truly cared for each other and at the end if the day won't be able to harm each other.
Then there is I suppose the third female lead Liu Ying who is the demon princess. Loved her throughout. The only consistently good character (she also has a drama as the FL with the actor playing the SML) throughout the drama.
Really good chemistry and very present romance storyline despite the first 2/3rd of the plot being about her being incapable of romantic love. I feel like the ML in this drama is one of the few ML's who turn to the other side if that makes sense. He goes from the Heavenly realm to the demon realm and stays there. He stops being a annoyingly "good". The only outright idiotic thing he does is believe the peacock girl.
I started this drama, I was really hesitant to start it because I am not a big Li Yi Feng fan, but I LOVE the rest of the cast. I watched a few of his other dramas and he seems to play characters with the exact same personality, playful, not serious, kind of useless, characters that get boring in long dramas. And from the comments section, it seems that he will play a similar role again.
I thought this was meant to come out by the end of 2022. The trailer and everything came out and I remember reading somewhere that it will come out on December 2022. Why isn't it out yet, I've heard about it for so long, there is no reason for this drama to have been delayed for so long.
I didn't think I'd like this drama as much as I did. Thought it would drag because of how many episodes it had as a lot of long Chinese dramas tend to do. But this drama was REALLY GOOD. It did not drag at all. The FL didn't annoy me at all despite being a really naive and 'innocent' character. Her actions made sense to me, even when she did something that would otherwise be unforgivable, it was forgivable and understandable because her character was very well rounded and her actions made sense.
I hated her friend. The last few episodes really put me off because of the friends crush on her dad. First of all it was really weird, second, the friend new that it made the FL uncomfortable but did not give a shit. That was one HORRIBLE firmed to out the FL through that. Loved the dad, the father-daughter relationship, the other girl best friend (I LOVED her so much) and all the other friends.
I loved him on Whirlwind Girl. Season 2 kind of ruined his character but his charecter had a good ending. I wanted to watch his other dramas but it is IMPOSSIBLE to find English subtitles for the dramas he played the Main Lead in.
This drama was too short and I don't mean that in the I want more episodes way. I mean that as in it cut off a LOT of scenes that needed to be in the story to make it make sense like the confession scene (which was partial a flashback), the scene where she tells the ML who her brother is or when the other charecters find out who her brother is, some sort of information on the other video game players, the brothers romantic relationship development etc. None of these scene where in the story and they needed to he in the story because it seemed chopped off.
I shipped the FL's brother and the ML's best friend so much. I have never shipped a gay side couple in a Chinese drama before other than in Love 020, but I shipped them so much here. I know they won't ever show them as a couple, they can't, but they could have left an open ending or at least made the brother not have a random girlfriend last minute. I HATED that they introduced a random female character (with very little screen time and no charecter or relationship development) to play her brothers girlfriend. They could have skipped that 2 min scene in the last episode and the ending would have been so much better.
The actor for Jay is Korean? I thought he was Filipino, I don't think I've watched any of his works before. This was my first Filipino Movie/Drama and I loved it.
That "best friend" of the FL really got on my nerves. She was a SNAKE. Okay, fine she liked AJX, but to secretly date him behind her friends back for 2 YEARS, that was too much to begin with. Thought there would be something I'd like about her, some redeeming quality or something, turns out she was the one to confess to AJX first and she explicitly tells the FL that she did this because she knew that AJX liked the FL. The "best friend" knew the FL liked AJX and AJX liked the FL but got in their way because she liked AJX and didn't care for the FL at all.
It's the fact that she hid it for 2 years from the FL that really gets me. She knew the FL had her hopes up to confess to him but never bothered to tell the FL that he is taken?!!!! She then breaks up with AJX because he said he will tell the FL (his best friend) that he and the "best friend" are dating. I mean WTH, she knew it was wrong to begin with, she knew it would ruin their friendship, she didn't care for neither the FL or AJX at that point.
I hated her so much and I hated that couple so much that it ruined the drama for me. The FL was still her "friend", still went out of her way for that snake despite knowing everything she did. I hate dramas where characters like that are forgiven despite not doing anything to be forgiven, and just get away with all the pain and BS they put the main characters through. Her AUDACITY got on my last nerve.
Why did Kaede go blonde? He just sort of exploded, became blonde and... died? (I think he is dead). Manyuda Kaede was my favourite character, I was waiting for their gamble together since season 1. I was wondering why the actor wasn't listed to be in the sequel movie, I thought it was a mistake.
