Why did Jing Boran choose this character after his roles in the dramas *Road Home* and *Sunsets Secrets Regrets*?…
His character is really interesting in the novel, a red flag yes but well written, their relationship was annoyingly toxic though because he acted like he never cared for her to her face. I love that he is playing such a different role in this drama, this will be my first time seeing him play a character that is not a green flag. and from all the clips I've seen of this drama he is playing this role really well. There is not really a secondary love interest in the novel unless you're talking about the FLs roommate, the most significant part of his character to the story was his death which was more of a catalyst helping the ML and FLs story move forward.
Currently reading the novel, it was really good at the start but it's gotten kind of boring. It starts off when the FL is 3 and you actually see the characters grow up slowly all those years going from nursery to Idk, I've gotten to the highschool part. I don't even think I got to where the drama starts, I don't think the drama will focus much on them as really young children.
In the novel the concubines are from his late wife and barely make an appearance in the novel. He doesn't cheat…
Yes he is, I like the fact that they are uncle and nephew. I heard it would have gotten a LOT of backlash, and probably wouldn't have passed censorship if they kept it the same. I just don't like the fact that they changed so much about his background in the drama, he went from the legitimate son of the 3rd Chen Master to a random adopted son unrelated to the Chen family. They could have at least gave him a solid background in the Chen family, but I guess they did that to make the FL and him closer, he hates her in the novel (more like he hates that he likes her) but in the drama he seems to genuinely like her.
I actually think that they could at least add ML daughter in the drama. She was cute. I still remember how viewers…
I was icked out by the fact that she chose the man twice her age over 3 other candidates close to her age. I have not watched Story of Ming Lan, the only reason I'm watching this is to watch the main leads in another drama together, waited years for this. I HATE the cheating trope even in costume dramas. He was already married in the past so it would have made sense for him to have a kid, I wasn't bothered by this in the novel and wouldn't have been in the drama. I also hate the whole concubine storylines so I avoid dramas with that, I gave the novel a chance and I enjoyed it.
I decided to read the novel before watching the drama. I surprisingly really enjoyed the novel despite being icked out by the fact that the ML had a son the age of the FL and that he had a former wife and 3 concubines. I would have dropped it if there was any cheating. He was faithful as hell to her and extremely dependable. For anyone concerned (as I was), he was only ever with her after his late wife passed away a few years before. I like the changes I've seen so far in the drama, the drama is completely different to the novel but the characters seem to be the same personality. It's nice that the father seems to be getting retribution, he doesn't really get any punishment in the novel.

I mean they were completely irrelevant in the novel, but I think in the novel it prevented any concubine drama from occuring, since he already had them. They're from the late wife and he hasn't been with anyone since his late wife passed away and he doesn't get with anyone but the FL afterwards. Even in the side stories the ML's daughter says that her father is faithful to the FL. I surprisingly enjoyed the novel a lot because he was such a good character, faithful and dependable to the FL, I was going to drop it when I found out he was the father of the man she had a crush on but they changed that part in the drama.
I don't understand Why the Female lead moved in with her toxic GU Family. They are all parasites and will bleed…
In the novel the concubines are from his late wife and barely make an appearance in the novel. He doesn't cheat on her ever with anyone. I haven't gotten that far into the drama but I don't think these 3 will even be in the drama.
There's only going to be 24 episodes?! First time I checked the number of episodes for this series and it's so short 😭. The novel isn't that long either but so many costume dramas with much shorter novels have more episodes than this.
I came across a video the other day explaining his background, even the video of him getting on a plane and fans trying to approach him, his reaction was quite funny (because he was surprised as he's not used to it). I've watched him in several dramas before playing supporting roles but I've never noticed him until this role. All the supporting actors in this drama did really well and played really well written character s, his character was to me the most interesting. I loved how he played this role.
I loved Summer's Desire. I loved her potryal of the FL and ever since watching that drama years ago I binged several of her other dramas. I was rewatching Summer's Desire today and going through the comment section of the drama and realised that it was the last drama she filmed. I can't believe I didn't notice that before.
girlypops he is 28 and she is 33? lets not be snowlakes not to offend u though
The age gap is only 5 years. Its so small it's not even mentioned in the drama. If you don't like older woman × younger man then watch just about any other costume drama. They have good chemistry and most people who have watched this drama likely don't have your same preferences.
I don't know how to explain it, but if svss had an adaptation, he would be a good name to play one of the two…
I don't think he fits the main character, I also can't imagine any actor as SQQ and I can only see a very few actors being able to pull off LBH, but he will definitely suit one of the side characters like Liu Qingge, Zhuzhi Lang or that student killed by ZL.
I just watched her in a modern drama with Shen Hao Nan but I can't seem to find it in either of the actors profiles. I clicked every link on her one twice, I don't think I missed any and I still can't find the drama on MDL. The title is 爱在千禧.
I love watching Shen Hao Nan's dramas. He is my favourite mini drama actor. Throughout this entire drama it seemed like the FL had emotionally cheated in him for a while, maybe even years and I really hated that. The ML was a green forest and seemed to deserve so much better, even though the 18 year old (in mind) version of the FL loved him her older self treated him so bad. I WISH they expanded the ending or at least had him know that she was being controlled the entire time she treated him so bad, that she did not cheat in him in any way, I wish we got to see this explaintion even if the ML had already forgiven her.
I just watched her for the first time in the mini drama "A Family of Three in the Same Class". That drama is now my favourite portrait mini drama, it was so well written, the cast were perfect for the roles but there were a few points were the drama seemed like it was cut off like in a few small scenes were missing, other than that it was perfect. Wish it was longer.
I think she looks like a mix of Lu Yuxiao and Sabrina Zhuang. Even in her profile picture here she looks like a mix of those two actors.
I am on episode 6 and so far I hate Hye In. I started this drama so that I could watch Jena's plot in season 2. Hye In is a person who really likes to victimise herself. From lying about being rich and posting about it using other people's belongings, and then being angry that she was caught. She was just being really hateful to all her old school classmates when they called her out for her lie, and being hateful overall because other people were born rich. She acts like she is above it all, but she is a hypocrite. She goes on to STEAL Jena's shoes after beating her up, and then she plays victim. She doesn't even attempt to apologise after finding her shoes, and she just plays dense about the fact that it is entirely her fault that Jena hates her. I really wanted to see Jena beat her up because that girl really deserves it so much, because how is she going around stealing from someone and beating them up twice. I cannot with this girl. I'm not sure if I can even finish this season.
