Maybe because got no kungfu or immortals? Have watched first episode. I like it so far, as many have commented here, jane austen vibes with light dose of slapstick humour.
I quantum leaped from ep24 to the last episode to see the ending. No plans to watch the remaining episodes as the political intrigue doesn't fascinate me that much. However, can someone tell me what happened to the FL's sister bodyguards? Don't see them in the last episode, would be awful if something bad happened to them. Thanks.
K dramas recently remind me of my wild youth. Fun times on repeat for a while then the eventual hangovers come…
The usual kdrama formula is to create dramatic cliff hangers at end of every episode. I think towards the end of the drama, 10+ episodes, the writers are starting to run out of ideas and so create even more over the top and preposterous scenarios and that's where the series goes downhill. Only rarely do they get it right nowadays.
Ep11 : Feel sorry for those single horse dragging the heavy carriage with 3-4 people inside in during shooting of the drama. Do they really use these in ancient China? Design looks the same, whether Han or Ming dynasty, no improvement at all. They need to put some BYD batteries and EV motor to assist those poor horses.
Who do so many kdramas nowadays start strong then run out of puff towards the final sprint? There have been so many dramas, maybe the writers run out of ideas? I think the only kdrama i completed this year is lovely runner. Supprisingly ive finished more cdramas this year despite them being so long.
What a shame. In my 3-4 years of watching kdramas, this place has to be now the most toxic site on mydramalist. And it was civil and mostly well behaved for most of the drama.
I did not watch the last few episodes, but the Middle East is a real shithole, its ramifications have global geopolitics impact and will affect all of us. This here is a storm in a teacup. While many are I think aggrieved, I wonder how many are the usual kdrama no life trolls, using the opportunity to bombard the show with poor ratings.
Kdrama and cdrama writers often disappoint with their endings/last episode, I’ve got a few in mind
The writers could use the excellent series, Shogun as an example of how one could write the ending of a series. Don't always need over the top dramatics' cliffhangers or big battles.
i still haven't watched the last 2 eps, but reading the reviews..I'm not sure what I'll think of the ending
Oh dear, based on comments here, I think I'll give the last 3 episodes a pass. The first ones were good, but the writer switched on hyper-melo mode for the last quarter of the series. Kind of reminded me of the writing of the other very popular kdrama( whose name shall not be mentioned here).
