Hi Talia, here there and everywhere huh! Well, I don't mind them trashing the historical Silk Road a bit as long as nobody emits laser beams. After all, "Journey to the West" massacred it. Wukong and gang, always in a China bubble, no dessert or oasis towns, Chinese noodles all the way(where's the chapati!)

This looks interesting but I don't see it in Netflix yet. This is a realistic historical drama right, no immortals hiding behind the bush right?

I mean I feel like I'm watching a holodeck episode of star Trek. If a story is about real people, even if it's fiction, there is no problem.

Do the "game" characters become alive later on? After watching two episodes , I cannot connect emotionally with any of them , anymore than you can "feel" anything for a console game character.

Any recommendations ? You know my old man taste! Cdramas and kdramas been a Taklamakan desert lately !!

Netflix pushed this to me today. Hmm Just wondering if the main actress should start diverging from revenge theme dramas? Is this as good as the Double?

Have to say, this one is like the recent De Renjie drama on Netflix. That one started out strong than slumped a bit in the second half.

Yeah, I understand Chinese detective stories of that era tends to have supernatural elements. For a supposedly low budget, I think they did good on the sets , costumes etc. The only thing they chose not to portray authentically is that Tang belles are supposedly on the portly side heh..

Subscribed to Iqiyi, watching season 1 now. then on to season 2.
Love it, a bit like BBC Sherlock., you do know my cdrama taste.
