Just finished the series yesterday. Need consultation on xianxia lore. Is the mortal world in xianxias based on planet Earth? Because 30000 immortal years ago there would not been any Chinese civilization or city for the former deity of war to rescue the blind flute boy. Heck, if I read correctly, a day in immortal realm is 1 year in mortal world. That makes it 11 million human years ago. Even great apes won't have evolved yet.
can someone pls tell me if the fl strong and not an airhead who constantly needs to be saved by the ML? I started…
First half she was really cringy. I actually dropped the drama first time because I thought I would contract diabetes from her. She got better progressively in the second half, by the end she is one chill goddess.
Ok thanks for the explanations. I thought its odd the way he just appeared. No CGI involved just like in a dream. By the way, isn't the former lady god of war and her student dead even if they were immortals?
My favourite Xinxia: *Love between fairy and demon*Back from the brink *Blue Whisper. These 3 have high production…
By the way, are these long white haired male characters I see a lot in xianxias copies of elves, Saruman + Gandalf, or have they been around long before Lord of the Rings movies?

Is there a good one that is not focused on romance but on world building etc., something akin to Lord of the Rings? I loved reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as Journey to the West, so I think I can get into xanxias if they are not FL-ML romance centric.

Ran out of puff again, kind of put in on hold somewhere in the middle of the mortal realm arc. Problem is that I've already committed the usual sin of peeking at the last episode to see the ending. Probably will pick it up sometime in the future. I am not sure whether this genre is for me, but seems to be very popular on Netflix ( ~70% of cdramas?)

Giving xanxia genre a try. Super speed watching Fairy love Devil on Netflix since it has such high rating. I must say I'm getting a bit confused with the fantastical elements. So, these immortals can time travel back in time and be reborn and live full lives as mortals. Netflix subtitles calls it "tribulations" or whatever. It's breaking my "give logic a break " button a bit. Time travel always does.
It occurred to me, the Hengdian set city walls do not have moats surrounding them. That is a grave error. Moats and ditches are the first line of defenses of any ancient city. Okay..rant off.
Heck! what am I still doing here. Shows over. Exit, stage left!
If you have time, watch this.
