I guess it was a role to stretch himself and do something without martial arts. He was able to fight an avalanche so there was that. 😁

About the only one I watch anymore is the GBBO. Though it hasn’t been the same since they switched networks and lost Mary Berry.

There are always a lot of filler in these types of shows. The most thrilling round would be near the end when they had the Hell competition and had to put out a new dish every 30 minutes with someone being eliminated each time until they were down to one chef to go against the finalist already chosen in a previous round. I used to watch more cooking competitions but some of them can be terribly mean spirited. And while the chefs did have one round where no one got any sleep it wasn't the planned psychological and grueling physical warfare like some shows purposely inflict.

I know what was trying to be accomplished but the glaring dismissal of the wife’s thoughts and feelings and the emotional rejection of the son really bothered me.

I was enjoying it too, and then it felt like they had to fill in the episode count and said, I know we wrapped up the main story, but let's take a road trip and see what going on with the Xiyan monarchy. 😄

I guess the book did something right by her? 😄 Would that the drama had also had only 24 chapters.

He wasn't patriotic enough but she ended up with the traitorous CP? I was actually surprised she didn't drink of cup of poison, too. I cannot image how messed up that book was.

I have honestly wondered if the censors haven't mandated sad endings even when the book had a HE. There have been too many of them in recent history. Good review!

Pretty much sums it up for me. lol Gave it the same rating. I was more disappointed with Mei Lin's transformation than Jian He's turning into a lap dog. Why can't a badass FL stay one to the end?
