That’s the truth! And totally agree about Kang. I’m usually banging on about more female representation but this character was annoying and unnecessary, especially as written.
Great review as always!
I think that no justified revenge may have been the point though. They became monsters to fight the other monsters which just left us with different layers of societal monsters. When there is no justice and children are torn to bits emotionally, and complacency reigns, or internet cruelty takes over, does it turn us all into monsters of a sort? Felt like the drama showed the school didn’t have a monopoly on bullying, that children grow into adults and some patterns continue. It was a messy, tumultuous drama and definitely not perfect but I found myself absorbed in it.

Funerals bring out all sorts of old wounds and slights, which only complicate monetary matters. People's memories and loyalties are subject to change when money is involved, regardless of the amount. For Angie, in this film, it was the complete emotional betrayal of a family she'd considered and treated like her own that hurt her the most. Though receiving a small stipend from what amounted to her own money they controlled for their own use must have been a bitter pill to swallow.
Sadly, I’ve seen terrible behavior in my own family when people have died, even without the homophobia, and this film certainly triggered me.

It was watchable even compelling for the most part. On another day I would have given it an 8. As it marched toward the finish line I thought it stumbled. The entire drama was composed of damaged people who made highly questionable choices. They were all one more hit away from burning down an orphanage. 🔥
Tyvm for the gift! 🦋💕🫰🏻
