~ "This is a drama where everybody in the cast has to carry weight. That is a big part of why "Key To The Phoenix Heart" is riveting" ~
Another great point. Competency throughout the production. Something that always bothered me about latter-day Hollywood, particularly from the mid-blockbuster era, was the diminishing quality of support and bit-part performers. Especially when compared to the old days. It's quite jarring to see really poor acting by a minor character. It's like someone playing the wrong notes in an orchestra. Kills the immersion. KTTP has great depth in the quality of its performances.
Ai Mi auditioned, passed and played the role of 16 years old Jiayu, so she was the perfect choice and brought…
~ "perfect choice and brought the freshness, actual naivety and young vibe only young actress would deliver more naturally than some 30ish-year old actress" ~
Preach. The patience of the audience matches the patience of the Xiao Wuyi for exactly this reason. I'd already be mad at Xie Jiayu if she was older. But my mindset here is give her room to grow.
Indeed - there is zero respect for her agency and free will and her parent's right to support her. All these people…
The bad parents and bad agency thing blows my mind. One glance at what she's achieved in her young life and just how far her acting has developed before she's even entered the BFA points to the exact opposite.
Observation about "Key To The Phoenix Heart":"Key To The Phoenix Heart" captures the essence of…

I've never seen a better infusion of comedic and dramatic elements. The transition between the two is seamless. Every sweet interaction between XWY and XYJ is like visual poetry. Blending elements of overwhelming happiness and a touch of sadness. Every step forward they take together is just as enthralling as the overall story. There are just so many layers for the audience to make a connection.
Unfortunately, here Hou Minghao looks like an old man who came to dance at a high school disco.
The good thing about reality is that many people plus professionals in C-Ent can definitely tell Hou Minghao is a good dancer and singer who sells out concerts (unlike lameass cheap insults from a troll who can only produce noise pollution = you) πππππ

Ai Mi did well at dancing, but couldn't quite keep up with Hou Minghao π€
