After the drama's premise was released, with trailer, the comment section here flooded with how open relationships are ruining the culture, this is not the West, cheating should not be normalized. People were then moral policing the ones who wanted to see the drama.
But the first episode had nothing of that sort, the couple broke up, so if they get attracted to other people now, its not cheating. Yes it would be complicated but not cheating. Hence my initial statement, that we need to watch 1-2 episodes first before judging it.

If you want something serious you can try Footprints of Change and The First Jasmine. If you are wanting something fun, then you can try How Dare You. His performance was brilliant in all of them.
LOTFG is also a good watch, but its similar to Shadow Love genre wise so I am not recommending that.

Yes people said he was a black flag in the novel haha. Cheng Lei still plays a red flag character based on the trailers and stuff, but its now heavily toned down from the novel. Plus the character are represented by rabbit (FL) and wolf(ML), that a stubborn little rabbit being caught by a dark controlling wolf. So somethings may have been retained from the novel, but there are many differences as well, many things which were not part of the novel, are filmed. So yeah, lets see.

The script is heavily re-written from the novel. Except for the character traits, and base story, nothing is kept similar.
