I see a possibility that Left Chancellor Xu is not the traitor. Yes he is very dominating, wants power, wants to control the court and Kingdom, doesn't like women taking power, everything, but maybe not the traitor. Its very convenient that ministers under him are the ones who did something wrong and then dying. The whole responsibility gets on him then. Maybe the actual traitor wants that the accusation falls on Chancellor Xu, and the Emperor hates him more.

Yeah actually WeTv counts episodes as Episode 1(part 1) and Episode 1(part 2). Part one is released on Saturday and part 2 on Sunday. These are one hour plus episodes. But in general, or in sites like MDL, its considered two different episodes, so episode 1 and episode 2. If you go by WeTv its 10 episodes, but in MDL its 20. WeTv also releases bonus content on Tuesday and Wednesday which are around 30 minutes long but these are not considered as episodes, so not part of the 20 main episodes. Alongside the Chinese Tencent version also releases more content as in behind the scenes and travel diaries, but that's exclusive to the mainland version only, not for international audience, also not part of the 20 episodes. The scene in the initial episodes, when she and emperor, went inside a dungeon to find the truth about the black market, it made me remember how Jiang Li and Duke Su went to the mine. The alcohol scene in the rain as well. There is also a dialogue in ep 10 that she says, and if not exact then around 90% similar dialogue was said by Jiang Li as well. Wu Jinyan is excellent, but I think these are deliberate choices made by the director and production.

I so agree. A good actor should never stick to one genre, he should do all kinds of genres, excellent roles, grey characters, everything, it would be bad to typecast him into one genre. Its just that we all loved Jiaxu so much, like so so much (that was my first cdrama), maybe on personal bias, I would love him to do a modern idol drama again.
