Yeah it is. It also depends if he has lived his entire life with them or not. Because if he was an adopted child since he was a toddler or something, they grew up as siblings, then that's very wrong. But like his father was mentioned who was the Marquis, who was the head commander before, after his death Commander Di inherited that. So its possible he became an adopted child after his father died in his youth. That wouldn't be so wrong then. Depends on the timeline of their childhood, but yes again not my fav trope, but because they aren't the main leads, or the focus on their romance is not so much, I can do away with it, because they seemed cute to me.

I don't even think here at least the male lead is dumb. He is manipulative, sees through the FL, and tries to use her for his benefit. He doesn't seem to have fallen in love the first episode and now craving love every now and then. Both the leads seem strong and shrewd here.
There are 300 different dramas, they can watch what they want, but nope they have to come to the drama with a trope they dislike and say nonsense. Lets not pretend that till few years back, every novel, every drama had huge red flag guys with pure innocent always getting trampled on girls. Now the audience is changing, its fiction, the majority audience are women here, so let us all be in our fantasy. Also mind you, adapted from a female centric novel.

Wait I was shipping Commander Di and Zhili, and I though he called her jie-jie because she might be a little elder to him. But he calls her parents Mother and Father. He is like an adopted kid of the family???? Ahhhhhhhhhh. Whatever, this is still better than the weird master-disciple relationship.

But I am talking about role played by actor Liang Yong Qi here. He was the pharmacist who sells cosmetics to the palace women. The actor played Wu Jinyan's (FL here) ex-husband/main villain/SML in her previous drama "The Double". He also plays the SML/Villain in Chasing Dreams (Chen Zheyuan's upcoming cdrama). But he is a serious character there. But here, he seems a playful character, though I feel he is either faking it, or something, will play an important role later.
