Hm, I actually don't really have like or dislike feelings about him. But I kinda like his bratty-naive-spoiled attitude as a character (I would find annoying in RL). Which is probably also the part which Nine likes about him (+ his looks). Because Dao is cheeky and a challenge, not like his gf who's clingy and gives him everything he didn't even ask for. That's not exciting for him I guess.
Like I said in other comments, I watch this more from a neutral point and just let it happen without taking this show too serious. None of the characters are super deep in that show so far. They are all disasters and I am interested on how they will all clash and reorientate (character change? partner change?) till the end of the show.

Well I am entertained by it. It's trashy and scandalous, weird and not cutesy fluffy. I watch it as guilty pleasure while not taking it serious. 👌 Unforgotten Night on the other side is very cringe for me (but I still watch it for the same reasons as Check Out)

True. It's kinda weird that especially japanese BLs are either super innocent or all the way horny (and the last ones are rare). lol. But have you also seen the last Pornographer movie, when you say you saw it 4 years ago. (the last part was from last year)
Seems like a lot of you entered this drama expecting a whole different plot than what it actually is. Don't take the special / ep0 as bar. It is like it said, just a special "what happened before" the start. And yes of course the vacation episode is more desirable than what the characters deal with now. But that is the point? That is the plot. They both kind of want that time back as well but they messed it up in different ways. Nine for ghosting Daonuea. And Daonuea for now denying Nine (understandable). Yet they can't let each other go despite the complications but simultaneously try to play it save by staying with partners that are "easier".
It's a mess, it's unfair and painful it's kinda trashy. Like a lot of het soap plots as well. But fictional stories like this have a right to exist 🤷♂️ I don't take this drama too serious and find it entertaining enough to watch between other dramas. But if you can't deal with cheating plots then you should definitely drop it.

I had no expectations and I do like it 🤷♂️ (currently after ep2) It's morally messy and soapy. But sometimes this is exactly what you just need between all the other dramas you watch ;)
