Just have to get this off my chest - I must say after hearing how much this was similar to Itaewon Class, I watched it for the first time and finished it recently. I definitely see the similarities, but it was so so boring and every episode felt like filler. Main charactes were so bland, like boiled chicken. I'd much prefer the downfalls and frequent issues/conflict that this has rather than it being plotless. How IC gets 8.4 and this gets 8.1 and review bombed is beyond me.
This, in my personal opinion, is miles ahead of Itaewon Class. I almost died trying to make it to the end. Thankfully I made it out the other side alive.
I don't trust people who say this is boring 😂 Two great episodes once again! It's seriously the most enjoyable drama this year by far, and even in general out of most of the things I've watched. I've never been able to find something with great relationships and wonderful dynamics between everyone as this does. So unique and has a great vibe to it. Still enjoying every character and plot arc. Can't wait till next week.
Ma Jin apologized just so everyone knows, no need to get so worked up about his character lol he did a 180, and without a huge fight with shouting and the works. Again, they handled the situation with maturity and not a childish argument. That's what I appreciate about this show.
I do notice most of the Male characters kind of act more like Women than they probably would in real life and should in the show, but 90% of kdramas are written by Women, so there's not much you can do about it and they sometimes don't know how to write them convincingly. Lee Jun-ho is doing wonderful though in his portrayal and it's helping out where the script or directing may be lacking.
Call me crazy, but I like how they're focusing on the relations and people more than just doing business. I'd be bored if it was only crunching numbers 24/7. I agree the Thailand arc. needs to end now, I like how everything looks back home and them all having to stay together at her house - lots of funny and heartfelt moments there, like with Beom. They'll get back on track though, probably by the end of next episode.
Seeing some mixed opinions on whether there's too much romance or not enough lol When romance becomes the main focus, Tae-poong will stop having character growth as I see some people saying is starting to happen, so just remember that if you're only wanting this to be a romcom. If it becomes that, that's all he'll be to the show instead of the boss we need.
oh my gosh you guys are so rotted with the typical cliche kdrama stuff it genuinely pisses me off why are you…
For real. The literal genre tag is "Life" which means it's a business slice of life, ofc they're going to be say, sitting around drinking soju and talking about what's going on in their life and business. It's IN the genre, people just think something that's not constantly action based is boring and can't sit for a couple minutes listening to characters talk. I find every piece of dialogue important and it's for them to have development. In something that's a life drama, seemingly "boring" or "filler" dialogue, isn't filler... It's what the show's about and watching these people's journey. I see the same complaint about Misaeng if people find it boring when it's the literal genre, like... use your brain lol
I feel like to actually be okay with the show, you have to kiiiinda know a semi spoiler to the ending, not all, just some. Because otherwise everyone seems to be disappointed, where as I knew some of the end, had already accepted it and was completely fine and satisfied enough with the end. Didn't have high expectations going in and enjoyed it for what it was as a dumb entertainment popcorn flick, and to have mindless fun. Don't know, seems to only be me.
Yeah the characters are super stupid at times, but this takes a level of accepting the dumbness and enjoy the stupidity that's been set before you. I don't feel like it was 100% perfect, sure, but I also don't feel like I wasted my time on it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this sort of genre like myself.
If you feel it necessary to review bomb and lower your rating just because there's an issue present in the drama against a Woman, you're thinking with your emotions to the point of fault. This is a SHOW for goodness sake. If you aren't mature enough to understand that problems will arise against BOTH genders, don't watch it and leave your rating out of this.
The whole comment section since last episode looks like a group of tantruming children.
because of dumb people complaining about one character being against a Woman for ONE episode and acting like the writer won't resolve it just fine and properly. Review bombing at it's finest. Gotta love it.
I wonder if it is because of the child abuse that it has a higher age rating?
I just finished it - they show one character having a noose in their house and she frequently talks about wanting to die, but another character eventually has a heartfelt talk with her, telling her not to die and to live well. She sometimes takes pills as well and in one instance, implied she's going to kill herself. The "parental" abuse wasn't too terribly bad for me personally and it's shown in a poor light, eventually resulting in a main character saving them from the bad atmosphere. I don't think this would be too bad for someone under 13 as long as you know that they understand certain things are wrong. It's perfect for younger age groups.
Getting to the end (Obviously huge spoilers) - Every time the actual actor for Yi Chan sang the songs, it was beautiful and hit deeper in all honesty. Not sure why they chose to use someone else's voice, even if it was just for the Shining song "Easter egg" or whatever you want to call it. It kind of sounds too adult for a young kid, his own voice was what it should've been. Maybe they wanted a professional singer, but this guy is a highschooler, just use his real voice. It was blaringly obvious the sound and pitch kept changing towards the end once he was actually the one singing.
What made the moment special about "A Song for You" was him hearing his voice as he was about to step over the rooftop edge. Beautifully beautifully done.
kang taepoong why didn't you defend miseon from the nasty misogynistic comments??
She told him she would handle it on her own. Not his fault. No character development will happen if she keeps letting people run her over plain and simple.
After watching the scene a few times of him singing to her - anyone else notice part of it wasn't the right words being mouthed? then it cut back and it was correct again lol
Love this show, but they sometimes have editing hiccups 😂
I never noticed until now that the intro animation has a rose hip seed (I believe that's what it is) that he saved before and it grows out flowers. Really hope they do something with this later. The helmet is there too, a couple other items are seen, maybe they'll be next.
I don't like the way this drama. is going... the issues each ep are endless,,, please lets move forward
That's literally what it's about though. IMF crisis and taking over his Father's company. They actually did have a win though, they sold the shoes and made enough money to pay off the loan shark, now they're going on their next sales adventure.
Kdrama fans love men too much that they don't even want to accept their male leads can be enablers of misogyny…
Yeah, problem is nobody can take a character having flaws, which is where this falls under for me. Nobody is going to ALWAYS do the right thing like we want them to, that's what makes this so realistic within the boundaries of any form of relations. Even if he is partaking in it or isn't doing anything about it, it's a character flaw and something they may do wrong. It's completely in line with how humans can be. Unrealistic expectations in the viewers mind.
They solved the helmet question so easily this week, glad they did their research and the sellers made the comment about the helmet needing to break and showed the inner lining crumbling! Smart smart. This episode so far was one of my favorites due to that beautiful singing part! And seriously y'all, stop review bombing it, getting sick of this. Acting like Kang Tae-poong isn't "standing up for her", she told him not to and honestly that's probably hard for him, he seems like his love language is doing things for people. He's trying to give her an opportunity to stand up for herself instead of doing absolutely everything for her, even though he wants to. This is a sign of mature relationships, not what we regularly see in kdrama land. This show is top notch in every aspect, absolutely can't wait for next week.

Song joong and his love - the computer lol
