Agree with you. It is so unfortunate. From the start when I heard the opening song, I could sense this drama would be quite heavy. Sad we only had 28 episodes. I think the story has huge potential, it is not losing to Ancient Love Poetry.

Li Xuan origin only brushed like 2 episodes ..... No respond or shock at all from Youlian regarding that which I found very odd. And there was no comment from their friend after their disappearance to secret realm. I plan to check the novel to see the complete story. Sigh .... One more reason that I like this because we finally have xianxia that focuses more on ML than FL. I do love Ten Miles, Ashes of Love, Love and Redemption, but honestly I am getting bored with all those FL centric drama. For once I want the drama focusing on the male side.

I can understand why Youlian is so guarded toward Li Xuan because of her master indoctrination. But, guarded does not mean manipulation is allowable. Also, the drama never resolve the mental scar on Li Xuan because Youlian indirectly causes his father death. I just don't think Youlian loves Li Xuan enough.

The novel is in my waiting list already. I am done with FIYS finally. It is good enough but I find myself wishing they put less focus on the romance. I know some people find this drama romance to be fluffy but I feel the love is too ML centric since the FL cannot express well. Thus, I wish they focus on the bromance instead, hahahahaha.

Yeah, The Legends messy edit (as far as I know) was caused by censor. The censor rejected the original edit (the one with bad ending). The drama should have ended with Li Chen Lan death and Zhao Yao waiting for his return.

This drama seems light on the surface. But I think the story is quite tragic and dark. It touches the dark part of human being; people in inferior position often feel distaste to those who have power, even though they in power do nothing to harm them. Unfortunately this drama is too short to dig more.

I find Li Xuan master to be unforgivable. He literally want to use Li Xuan against his own kind. I like how the drama handle this. But I don't like how the drama handle the Dragon Emperor. Li Xuan is of his own blood, his sister's son, his last living relative. How can he be so cold hearted toward Li Xuan is beyond my comprehension. Living in the secret realm is much better for him. Both human and Kunwu do not deserve him.

I have my own problem toward Youlian, too. I hate how manipulative she is. She dared to manipulate Li Xuan, using his love toward her for her own benefit. Whatever is her difficulties, there is a bottom line for everything. But Li Xuan loves her very much ...... so perhaps they living away from anyone that can incite Youlian is better for them both.

I am now watching Lingjian Mountain; just finished first episode. I like it so far ^^

Just finished this. Yes, I think the elder in secret realm heals her. But, it is better for them both to stay there. They can be together without anyone judge them. Moreover, I think the mortal realm has hurt Li Xuan enough. He deserves peace and calm.

Overall this is a good drama. I like it when Li Xuan power awaken. My disappointment is that the drama makes him weaker than Dragon Emperor. It is said that the hybrid will have supreme power. By right, Li Xuan should be the strongest character in the end. Sigh .....

I have seen what a high budget Xianxia can do for CGI in Ancient Love Poetry. Hope to see the same in Agarwood. Well the trailer looks amazing already

These days, Xianxia have a really good CGI. I hope this drama also has good CGI. Is this a high budget drama?

Seems there are lots of good drama aired in this year. I am so spoiled, hahahaha. Well, since this is a xianxia, we can only hope this drama to be aired in 2022 at the earliest.

I really miss Cheng Yi acting

This drama looks very good. Cheng Yi is very suitable for costume drama, with long hair and those kind of clothing.

His looks in that white hair truly looks like an immortal. It looks really GOOD!

The novel is on hold for me. I plan to finish Xu Kai dramas first.

I love Xu Kai - Bai Lu chemistry very much in The Legends. In a way, it was that drama that taught me the real meaning of "chemistry", hahahahaha. Unfortunately the editing for the drama ending is a mess. Someone re-edited the ending based on logical chronology and by looking from Li Chen Lan clothing. The drama should have bad ending if they follow their original edit.

In regards to FIYS, I am very disappointed that we have no more of Lu Si Cheng and Hierophant interaction. Their flash back in ep 10 (?) is so good and interesting. They are both comrade and rival. I have not watched ep 30-31 yet. I hope their final fight is handled well. I will hate it if they are still focusing in romance too much by then.

Not my first time finding this kind of comment. Last time I read comments like this is when I was following Cheng Yi drama. Just ignore them. I deemed them just immature drama watcher who just having their first experience in liking some actor/actress. It is too tiresome to respond them.

Oh, that Korean guy called Pope? Because in WeTV they called him Hierophant. Yeah, I feel these two have more interesting relationship than the romance. Because the relationship is between equal. In the romance, I feel that Tong Yao cannot match Lu Si Cheng, in a way that the relationship feels one sided.

I have been following Xu Kai ever since The Legends. But after AMA, I was distracted with other drama and then put his dramas on hold. Then Ancient Love Poetry happened. I will watch Dance of the Sky Empire and Lingjian Mountain after I finish with FIYS. I am still at ep 27 at the moment.

What I love the most from Bai Jue is that he loves without forgetting his responsibilities. He knows clearly who he is and what he should do with his position. Between Tain Qi and Bai Jue, I say Bai Jue has proven his worth to become the cultivation partner of the Chief God.

I am very late to this drama discussion because I choose to finish ALP first before checking this out. Watching ALP made me unable to think about other drama. I am now at ep 25 still but already sneaked peek to ep 28-30. So I think I already get the overall acting from the cast.

The discussion above no longer interesting since the drama has ended so I scrolled down to see if there was any interesting discussion happened. I do have the same problem with Cheng Xiao. No hate toward her personally, but I have my reservation for idol turn actor/actress. Experience told me that I usually ended up ranting toward their acting. It is not that there cannot be career change that is successful. Xu Kai is not professionally trained as actor, yet he is one of my favorite actor that has both face and skill. Xiao Yu Liang (acted as Zhang Qi Ling in Ultimate Note) is also a professional dancer turned to actor, but I love his acting very much in Ultimate Note (lots of praise from people in general, too). I don't understand the problem with the idol. Cheng Xiao is not the only idol actress that I have problem with. I even specifically avoid any Ju Jing Yi dramas after I watched her in Legend of Yunxi.

FIYS as drama has interesting background and storyline. I am not dropping it. Also, I like Xu Kai so I will endure for him at the very least. But, FL acting is quite lacking. This is far more pronounced after the she and Lu Si Cheng is in relationship. I just cannot feel that the FL loves the ML. The expression and aura just not there. On the other hand, I can clearly see how the ML fall head over heel toward the FL. It is certainly taking a way a bit of my enjoyment in watching the drama.

I understand that Cheng Xiao is new to acting so this lack of skill is to be expected. However, I don't want people to use this argument to silent those who are dissatisfied with the acting. Actor and actress need to know that the audience are not yet satisfied with their acting so they know that they should improve themselves. Moreover, I dislike how these idols often get lead role even with that minuscule ability just because they already have pre-existing fandom. I dislike how their fandom is so quick to defend them from any criticism. Lead role will always fall into more scrutiny from the audience. It is the price that they have to pay.

Really? It is so weird. I myself love ep 1 very much. Also this drama does not have the same problem with FIYS (the scandal with the novel). So I don't understand why those people did this?

In a way, I am "happy" that Xu Kai does not succeed because of a horde of fans that will give all his dramas high rating, but because of his skill. I heard that even though his dramas have low rating, they always have high viewership. Talk about irony, hahahaha. Right to the face of those haters.
Also, the fact that he can filmed up to 3 dramas per year just shows that despite those low ratings, he is still a sought after actor.

This drama deserves at least a 9 with all those CGI and acting skills.

But then they are also get angry when the drama is all about visual but no acting skill ....... I think the problem is too many immature people behind the computer screen that think being able to give a bad rating is something to be proud of.
