For better or for worse, my first Cdrama

Everything in this drama is stunning: world-building, costumes, setting, characters, actors, LZ's/WW's waist O_O

My 2 favorite things, which is hard because everything is precious: 1) Lan Zhan ('s: posture, face and loyalty), and 2) WangXian song (lives in my mind rent-free 24/7)

Reason why objectively is a 9.5 (but let's be honest, it is a 100/10 drama nonetheless): 1) I still find Chinese (Mandarin?) a bit hard to listen to, no idea if because of that it seems that it was dubbed because sometimes the voice + the mouth didn't connect; and 2) the structure of this "summary" is very disjointed, since this is my 1st time watching TU many things didn't make any sense, one moment LZ is telling WW his Clan was burned down and then WW is joking, what. Or there were many names mentioned I've never heard/saw before. Or in ep18 or something a couple of which seems to be important people get their story (a blind guy + a guy in black robes who was using him) but since I've never seen them before, their story wasn't impactful for me.

Starting TU now, still have 50 episodes ahead but I am already missing them ^_^

I loved it, love it and will love it. My 2nd favorite RomCom drama of the year. Pure, funny, cute, romantic, what is not to love?? This drama gives me the same vibes as Yuri on Ice and Kimi ni Todoke: (A) Adachi=Yuri/Sawako and (B) Kurosawa=Victor/Kazehaya.

- A sees B as a hero, respects him, thinks B is amazing.
- B is crazy about A
- A has self-esteem issues, is also shy
- B encourages A to do things
- A thinks lowly of himself/herself, but actually many people is there to support him/her
- B may be the sun, but A is someone we need to protect at all cost

I love A, my adopted baby <3

ADORABLE

Technically, this special does not have any music I think? Or maybe the video I watched was incomplete... but for the BGM , EP and OP of the drama, I am giving it a 10. The angel choir alone deserves a 100/10 XD

This special was adorable, as all episodes were. I was smiling the entire 18minutes, it is so funny but romantic at the same time.

The pain of Kurosawa for the chocolates made me rofl, Detective Rokkaku being KuroDachi's son XD so cute and really the cherry on top of this marvelous drama.

Thank you to aoihachi for subbing this amazing drama!

The cutest rom-com of the season, if not of the year. I was smiling like a fool for all 9 episodes. And can't wait for the SP tomorrow... 2 whole hours! To bad there is no translation of the manga, I would love it read it.

Recommended for: people who liked Hajikoi and Nigehaji.

Not recommended to: people who consider any J-romance as misogynist, whether it be a woman ending with a younger man, an older man, a working woman deciding her own future, etc, etc.

I loved this short movie. Or should I say, this docu-movie? I am sure it is half ad-lib and half script. The ad-lib is definitely Kimura Fumino visiting places, asking good questions, eating all these delicious food/snacks and just being a tourist. The script part is the one between her and her old uncle, which was just as fun and heartwarming as the rest of the story.

I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes Japan, specifically, Kyoto. People who has never being there will want to go there, like, tomorrow. It is a very traditional and cozy city, with people very proud of their old establishments (some as old as 100-years-old!) and food and water. People who was being there will definitely want to go back. I consider myself lucky enough to say that I've been in Kyoto during momiji season, so seeing the MC going to shrines and walking next to the river with the beautiful views of colorful trees was very "natsukashii".

Places I took note to visit, mainly because of the elderly bosses, are the shop with the kamamochi, the one with the mackerel sushi and the coffee shop.

What a soothing and simple story! I could imagine myself in Ichiko's shoes, living in the countryside (beautiful Komori) and planting and harvesting the rice. The scenery is breathtaking, all green and foggy; it is in the Tohoku region, although I am not sure if Komori really exists (it translate to, literally, "Little Forest"). The story is calm and very slice of life, of someone living in the countryside, eating delicious and healthy food and interacting with her neighborhood.

Even her little house is charming and so cozy. I love it. I almost made a screenshot of every scene but unluckily I watched this beautiful film in a LQ video.

This was so funny, I was laughing from the very beginning, I loved how Dako teases Boku-chan and treats him like her little brother.

I watched the SP before this one, which is incorrect since the movie comes first, and then the SP. The only spoiler I had was about the character of Monaco though, so it was ok. The whole gang is back, and there are even cameos (and not really cameos.. more like a small role) from previous characters from the TV show. I think it is ok to watch the movie without watching the drama, but I wouldn't recommend it (please watch the drama first! You won't be disappointed).

I can't even tell a single thing about the plot nor what I liked about it since it would all be a spoiler. But it was all so fun and cool! Dako is the best. And Boku-chan is always making me laugh, he is so silly :)

As a side note, I love Eguchi Yosuke as a villain, he is great! Will he be back in the 2nd movie? **fingers crossed**

I picked this up not only because it was subbed by a trusted subber (thank you aoihachi!) -and by "trusted" I mean I know this subber will finish the subbing, but also because I've watched the TFP episode where the 3 leads guested, and I loved their team spirit, which is reflected again in the drama and it is one of the highlights of the show.

This is a fun, light show, there are no villains, it is a slice of life, involving music, friendship and romance. The beautiful "Air" by Bach is a wonderful companion throughout the drama, and it is also a big part of the plot. There is a character development in all characters, from Yaeko-san, Rihito-kun and Yukie (the 3 main leads). For their relationship alone, I love the entire drama, but all in all, even the romance was sweet and fun and far from corny or believable. Thank God there was a chemistry between Haru and Taishi, and in spite of the 7-8 years gap, it wasn't obvious at all since Taishi does look older than in his twenties.

Even the OP song was cute.. I love all of it :)

I was delightfully impressed with this movie, from the plot to the fighting scenes. It may be like 2 hours long, but time flew by, there wasn't any boring scene, it has plenty of action scenes and it was fast paced. I've seen Yoshizawa Ryo in just one drama and I wasn't impressed, but he was the star in this movie (sorry Kento). He wasn't as dead-panned as I remember, or maybe his character just suited him. Yamazaki Kento was good as well, he still needs to get better but I have a soft spot for him. And Kanna... ah well, she is pretty and that's it :) Kanata Hongo is just perfect for cowardly brat type of characters, his sneer is always excellent.

I wish Nagasawa Masami had a bigger role... this movie made me realize she is great for badass-warrior-like roles (but she is also great for silly roles like Dako-chan... she just doesn't suit the cute, romantic, pathetic role).

As someone who has not read the manga nor the plot of the movie, I loved it. I will even re-watch it maybe this weekend. If the budget for the sequel is the same as for this one, I will definitely watch it, since the CGI was excellent, as well as the script and the action scenes.

In many ways, this adorable drama reminded me of the book "Eleanor is Completely Fine" (EICF). Not that Eleanor and Nagi are similar (Eleanor can't read the atmosphere as Nagi, for example), but because it is a story about a woman who just lives but does not enjoy the little pleasures of life.

The beginning is kinda of hard to watch since Nagi is a nice and quiet girl who does not stand up for herself. That all changes when one day, after collapsing, she says Enough, leaves all the luxury of living in Tokyo and moves to the suburbs. Her long vacation is a path of self-discovery and self-acceptance, and being true to herself, which is why all new people who meet her, love her in an instant.

Just like in the book EICF, Nagi goes from a sad and lonely life (and very influenced by her mean mother) to enjoy the little things in life, such as drinking and playing with new friends, and learning to have dreams and that life is not A option or B option.

The music was sweet, suitable for the story. I could have lived without the love triangle (except that I loved the character development in a jerk like Shinji) but I think it was ok in this case since it is an example of not because you have option A and B you have to chose one... it means you can do whatever you want, whatever it makes you happy.

And the redemption at the end for the bully of the office was MEH... but J-dramas are always teaching about that, that people are not black or white... there is grey too and everyone deserves a chance.

"I will live for myself, by myself" (Nagi)

Great sequel, and cannot wait for the movie. Almost 2 hours long that felt much shorter. Each one of the trio is in charge of one swindle, separately. And that's because of a big disagreement they have at the start of the SP, that make them "disband". I love every time Boku-chan announces he will not come back, but this time Richard also says the same thing.

All 3 swindles were fun to watch, but of course Dako is the one handling the bigger fish. But is she, the luckiest girl, running out of luck?

Besides the trio, their sidekicks are back, plus one new addition, a young girl named Monaco (at first I wasn't sure if she had been before in the drama? But no, she is new).

The ending was good! A preview of a possible Chinese victim (this drama surely loves Chinese; either they are pretending they are Chinese or they are swindling Chinese people :D)

The execution of the story was well done and I was hooked from the very beginning; however, comparing to the other "... no Sensou", this one did not meet with my expectations.

I did like Kusanagi (a lot), he is truly the best when he has a dark role.. it is like he has so many strong emotions inside of him, it makes him cry even while laughing. It is not the first time he does this: there are times where he looks so satisfied that he is taking revenge but with tears running down his cheeks. It makes you wonder of his real motives. I think I cannot see Kusanagi in a "nice" role; I prefer him as the opposite of how he is in real life. He was such a fine actor.. I miss his dramas. I think he was the best actor in SMAP, and one of the best in Johnny's.

I think this Shiraishi was not a real anti-hero as Ichinose was (his role in "Uso no Sensou"). This Shirashi is much softer and kinder and certainly more forgiving. That's why I was let down, but only if I compare to the other drama, which is one of my favorite dramas. I would have preferred if he was more ruthless.. but no, even with the 2 ladies he was soft :(

My reviews almost always have spoilers, so I will keep it short so I don't spoil anything.

It is true that this drama is flawed, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It is very suspenseful, with creepy characters (most of the times creepy characters are far more enjoyable than nice characters) and a mystery that you can find in any Agatha Christie book. In this episode you will suspect of A character; next episode would be B character.

So there are still many questions unanswered. And that ending was O_O so unexpected. Like WOW, I was-left-speechless-kind-of-unexpected.

I wasn't going to watch the SP, because I didn't have any interest in Shota's and Nana's love story, but I surprisingly liked it. Will definitely watch the sequel, no doubt. In fact, can't wait for it.

It is only my second Asadora, but I can confirm they are really addictive. Easy to watch and easy to fall in love with the characters. It is like they become part of your family, I am going to miss them all ^_^.

I love Sakura Ando as Fukuko; she was cheerful and strong and my, her tears were so good. She had a nice chemistry with Hasegawa Hiroki; they were truly a wonderful married couple. They look the part too.. they look young at first and older at the end, unlike Kaname Jun (Tadahiko) and Matsushita Nao (Katsuko), who still looked too young to be grandfparents. Manpei was the ying and Fukuko the yang in their relationship, the complimented each other. If it weren't for Fukuko, Manpei wouldn't go anywhere with his ideas (but let's face it.. most of the good ideas came from Fukuko but Manpei-san was the one who was able to reproduce the idea or make it real).

I loved Fukuko's mother.. she was such a character! Annoying and meddlesome but so funny and with a good heart. By the end of the series, I was loving every one, from Sera to Shinichi. How nice that Shinichi was still part of the family, even after so many years of Saki's death. And how nice that Saki was still present in their lives even though she died so many years ago. How nice that Kanbe-kun admired and loved the Tachibana couple so much. And how nice how everyone was involved in one way or the other in the success of Manpuku Noodles.

The support of family, friends... all of them were so important to make Manpuku Noodles come to what it is. As always in a J-drama, family and friends are pivotal in the main character's lives (and at the same time, they influence positive in the others).

Some scenes were a bit slow for my liking, like all the times Manpei went to prison. Reason why I rate this 8.5. And sometimes I just wanted to smack Manpei-san... I know he was a genius and couldn't see straight beyond his ideas, but poor Fukuko suffered so much many times and years (but she loved that her husband was an inventor). He was the reason of all her tears; of her happy and sad tears.

Main song was cute and the opening sequence very dorky, I loved it.

I will mourn for a couple of weeks and then start a new Asadora ^_^

I mentally rated this drama an 8 when I finished Ep01. It was a nice-feeling drama but one I thought wasn't going to be too memorable. Boy, I was wrong. When I finished ep02 I was loving it and by the end of Ep03 I was a crying mess.

The story is a bit idealistic mixed with realistic. Idealistic when it comes to live in a residential complex and being friends after a few disagreements and also the support and acceptance of the ones who were close-minded at first (Komiyama-san; the mother-in-law and Ryota). But highly realistic when it comes to women who have troubles to conceive (Nana) or women who do not want to be a mother (Chihiro), and of course, the ignorance and discrimination of people like Komiyama-san.

All 4 stories were good: the gay couple (the older, closeted guy with his much younger boyfriend); the family (the mother who is more concerned about the "what would people think"); the soon-to-be-married couple (Chihiro does not want to have a baby but eventually learns how to be a mother of the son of her fiancee) and my favorite, Nana and Daiki who are struggling to have a baby.

I liked most actors except for the boy who played Ryota and Nana, played by Fukada Kyoko. She can't act; she thinks that the silly bambi face she makes is acting, but my, every time she cried, I was crying :( Her story was too sad, every day trying to get pregnant till the "reset" day, which was when she had her period and it was starting all over again. Her scenes, along with her mother-in-law (interpreted phenomenally by Takahata Atsuko), made me cry like a baby :( I think Nana and Daiki are my favorite married couple in Doramaland... all her struggles and all his support were outstanding.

The annoying characters have a good redemption at the end, so there is no bad person in the whole drama. So it is one of those uplifting dramas that at the same time, are a bit sad since real life happens and not everything is white or black.

I've read that several people were not satisfied with the ending, but I loved it.

Thanks a million to the subber, Raiho80 ^_^
