So much better than annoying Korean version - better storyline, better developed characters and incomparably better cast - especially main couple (unlike Korean couple, they have great chemistry). I laughed like crazy and also cried - I really enjoyed watching this drama
Amazing drama. Tal Tal is the best... I wonder, will he ever confess his feelings for Nyang?
It's my own contemplation - their bond is so special, he taught her and watched her rising from a slave to an empress. They share same ideals. I think he feels admiration for her and will stay by her side, though it's impossible for him to be with her. He is just that kind of character. Also, he's always watching Nyang and silently helping her, and protecting, supporting... Because of his brilliance and his inclination to Nyang he's my favourite male character in this drama (and because he's hot ...lol)
I like his character in Bride of the Century. On this pic he looks so cute, healthy, in Bride looks gaunt... maybe he got a chin job, his face looks too pointy
I really enjoyed watching this drama and finished it in two days - it's a long time since I did that. Pretty good story, without gaps, with just right amount of plotting, humor and romance. The cast was very good, well, Hong Ki was little stiff, but I'm enticed by his cuteness so I'll forgive him (btw, he definitely must work on his romantic scenes - the kisses mixed with wrestling moves aren't passion and first wedding night in a turtleneck sweater is a big no-no). However, I'm sure I'll rewatch this lovely little drama...
Really impressive biography - like in dramas: a perfect background from rich, distinguished family, tall, Miss Korea (almost Miss Universe) titleholder, Seoul National University doctoral student, gayageum player... wow, Korean ideal marriage material. She's probably not going on blind dates :)
Very good stalker's guide (like I need one :D). And Rain is simply amazing. He changed my life, literally - from ordinary person, I became a drama addict. First, I discovered his music. Numerous videos on YouTube. Wow - Hip Song, Love Song, Rainism, Love Story... Must admit - his music is great, but, oh my, he's got the moves. Then I started to google him on regular basis. Suddenly, some drama part videos started to show. Will I, or won't I??? One klick and - The Dramaland. The magic. I was mesmerized. The rest is history... Actually, Full House was my first Korean drama ever - nothing special though, but enough for me, I was hooked... Now, I have a favourite Korean dramas genre, actors, actresses, bands, musicians, musicians turned actors, directors, even the screenwriters ... Well, obviously, Mr. Rain is guilty for my drama addiction. Maybe I should sue him?!? ;)
Interesting article... But, some of couples you mentioned just suck. If you asking why, the answer is - the chemistry (more precisely, the lack of it) and age has nothing to do with it. Age difference is not important, the chemistry is. It's my opinion - not because I'm drama noona, but because that's the most notable thing we can feel and see when we are in dramaland... When you see sparkles on the screen and feel warmth in your chests who cares about anyone's age...
I personally agree with your list. Kinda think it's really close to public opinion - in Korea and internationally. Those definitely are the most beloved actors (not the best actors or somebody's personal biases). I would add Jo In Sung (he's the Korean epitome of handsomeness - well, mine also ;)) and Jang Geun Suk - he's the real prince of Asia. And about your personal choices, I love them - Kim Nam Gil and his captivating charisma, boyishly cute Song Joong Ki (he's too adorable) and Yoon Eun Hye(my favourite from Goong till now). Well, for me, only Song Ji Hyo doesn't belong here, I would replace her with Gong Hyo Jin... Anyway, thanks for the nice article and keep up the good work :)
