Masterpiece of a Short Drama.
After invading General kills her family and takes over her town, he rapes her and promises her three years of revenge before she returns to marry him. She leaves and kills those who killed her family only to be taken advantage of by the corrupt politicians in her home. A brilliant teamwork of actors, writers, and directors this show is mindblowing and true masterpiece of chinese period dramas. The FL does a phenomenal job in invoking raw brute/strength while also maintaining the fragility of a woman in a men's system/world. How on earth she managed those fight scenes remains the biggest magical part of the show.

Fabulous Perfomance by Dilraba and
story about a "demon" tamer who uses a mermaid to gain her physical freedom but gets her heart freed in the process. I binged this when I should have been studying for exams. That's how good it is. Also, probably a good idea to restock on tissues. What captivated me most about this show is the raw emotions that the leads managed to portray. I wish I could go back to the first time I watched this show to relive all those first time amazing show experiences. Will have to settle for plain Ole rewatches.

Better than the Original Korean Version
I didn't realize until I finished watching the show that this was the Chinese remake of Descendents of the Sun. That being said, without comparing the two, I this was a great drama. If you are comparing the two, one of my problems was that the lead actress in DOS was not very likable which was fixed in the Chinese version. Definitely worth the watch whether or not you watch DOS. I appreciated Mika's perseverance and her attitude. I also liked the decision to make her look like a normal doctor (sans the heavy makeup and heels) and give her the attitude of a doctor. Was this review helpful to you?

The Ending was Rushed
Follow Zhao Lusi in another STELLAR performance as a smart indepent woman in a period drama. The kicker with this drama is that every single character is written and acted out so well that it's impossible not to like everyone. Even the mother who i disliked for abandoning her baby because of a fortune teller, we'd redeemable and still likeable. The queens were an absolute riot kicking the Emperor out as he went through a midlife crisis every time the ML went through any sort of character Growth. He was also the biggest shipper of the ML and FL.The amount of dad jokes the Emperor dropped would make any dad proud.
despite the rushed ending IMHO it needed like 10 more episodes to properly wrap everything up.

One of my Most Rewatched CDramas
IDK if i can even write anything here except the mom sucks, the king was a sociopath and his wife worse. The brothers really did love each other which makes everything sadder and the only person whose life wasn't absolutely miserable was the love fairy god dude. He was epic. This show is epic. Watch it once. twice. three times. Never stop.I'm not a fan of chinese music, however, I did like the ost in this show. Im also not sure why chinese people like the whole acting like a baby situation but it didnt overpower the story so it was okay.

Not Expected Coming from China
Woah. Did not expect this out of China. The ML's fiance was 🍇 and murdered by chaebols. After biding his time in a mental hospital he gets his revenge by taking them down from the inside. Using their own secrets, betrayals, and abhorrent actions to have them bring each other down. Throughout the entire show he sees his dead fiance interacting with him, showing just how far hone he was. In a world where Yu Menglong did not get justice (and given corruption in China/entertainment industry) and likely never will, the end was a stark warning to those who would think about vigilante justice. Almost as if this (IMHO award winning) entire drama was made to deter netizens from taking revenge on the people who murdered him.Was this review helpful to you?
