I feel like most comments are from people who don't like fantasy genre in general. The plot might have a few loopholes…
Lol, this is not even a proper fantasy. It basically has one fantastical element. Other than that, it's a straight up romance. I see no connection. And I am 100% sure that a lot of people here came from Mr. Queen, which had as much fantasy as this one, if not more
Another small example of bad writing is the 'I'll confess to you 3 times'. Scratch that she confessed a million times before, but it was supposed to raise the stakes and make us feel like maybe she'll give up on him after the 3rd time or sth. But no, there was no suspense, he announced that he likes her after 1st? 2nd? confession and the whole thing was quickly forgotten. The writers seem to have seen it in other dramas and decided that it's romantic but never really went through with it...
There are quite a few things that I don't think are done well with this show (though don't let that affect you…
Nah, there is no reason, and it makes even less sense when you consider that FL met the ML 'first' in her 18th life, and she looked different back then...
yes, her tone is awkward because she sounds so happy in the present time but like kindergarten teacher tone. It's…
It would make sense for like the first 1-2 episodes, when she is portrayed as detached emotionally from reality, but there's been no change whatsoever... She cried a couple times and that's it, her behaviour didn't really change.
MDL is becoming so toxic😞 You can't ask anything anymore without getting attacked.
You can't ask anything? XD bro, you've been at it for more than a year now, asking questions like IS IT A ROMANCE? IS THERE A TRIANGLE? under every drama in existence and informing everybody that if it's not a romance you won't watch it. Just read the reviews or watch the show yourself, stop spamming every comment page. We are not the toxic ones here.
I think I finally figured out what I don't like about SHS's acting here. Her character is acting like she's older than everybody. That's why her relationship feels out of place, cause even when Seo Ha is an adult, she's still treating him like a kid. I think it's more of director's fault rather than SHS, but that makes me feel weird and as if the chemistry isn't here. She also acts the same way to her niece, and to her sister, which is equally awkward. Like in no way does she act like I act towards my sister who is 7 years younger. And that makes every relationship awkward. I feel like in other dramas where a character is hundreds years old, at least they are acting the age that they look, so even tho the difference in age is concerning, the difference in acting - not so much.
Surprisingly good! Bored me a lot in first 4ish episodes, but later it got better and better for me. I love office dramas where the characters do some actual work. Even though I'm not sure about the nature of their work, their department seemed like a weird hybrid of marketing/sales/development all at once. But I'm not so familiar with the back office of cosmetic industey.
It's great how every single plot by the end is resolved, and nearly every single character gets character development. I especially loved Jae Un, I thought at first that he'd be the bad and disgusting character, but he turned out really sweet and caring, not only to his love interest, but to his friends and family. Overall highly recommend! Pretty solid and sweet, hard to come by these days.
This drama is legit has audio problem and it's not just in one episode and apparently , that was not a good comment…
Yes, exactly. I feel like there are 2 kinds of people: either "why not drop it immediately if you don't like it" or "its only a part of the series, you can't criticize based on only 2/4/6 episodes". It just doesn't make sense, we just can'twin...
Lol the only toxic and rude people I see here are those trying to pump this show up artificially and being nasty…
I'm sorry, but you call yourself mature and then call others a dumbass, retard, butthurt dumb kiddo and idiotic? Sorry to break it to you, even if this is an answer to a rude comment, this is not mature. You tell sb to go to a psychiatrist just because they comment the things they don't like on a drama they don't like and the other way around? What should they do, post positive comments when they don't like a drama? Just wow
Chemistry is not only based on how they look together. It is more in the game they play together. And on this…
If she's really not trying to use her past self to get to him, then she should start building a relationship from scratches. Conventionally, like in any other drama, not shower him with "will you date / marry me / i love you " from the very start.
Episode 5 and 6 is better when you watch it one sitting since you can move on past. I view the drama differently…
Yeah, I feel that they basically get no scenes for their relationship to grow romantically. It's either her confessing or him reminiscing of the past. Right now I see no reason for him to fall for her, and so quickly...
Why are some people so defensive about this drama? I read a lot of comments on this page, and the negative ones for the most part are backed by some arguments. They aren't mindless, offensive hate. Whether you agree with them or not is a different thing, but they are not rude for me. If they were under a drama I truly loved, I would just acknowledge that it is not for everyone and discuss it, or even agree with them, but admit to myself that it doesn't change my rating of the drama.
Whereas here, time and time again the people who like this drama are talking about how others "hate" on this drama. "Don't you have eyes?" "Why do you watch it, just to bring negativity? Just drop it!". Jeez, I am old enough to decide for myself. I see great production value here, so I hope it will work in the future but it doesn't. I love the actors, I haven't seen SHS for more than 2 years and I desperately want her drama to work. I agree that hate watching isn't the way, but if you like at least one thing, it isn't hate watching for me. Believe me when I say that 99% of people want the drama to be good! And they are watching it still cause maybe it turns out great! But they can at the same time comment about shortcomings, cause if not, a new watcher would just look at the rating and go - wow this must be a masterpiece - and then it isn't. We are here to discuss, not to shower ourselves with fake positivity.
It's just that some people don't feel safe with their positive opinion. They need confirmation from the world that yes, this drama is very good! Yes the rating keeps going up! And when the negative comments come, they get defensive. Let me tell you, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO LIKE WHAT YOU LIKE. I wish I liked this drama. But we are also allowed to discuss the things we didn't like. People are different, even the most amazing drama will have some antifans. Discussion with people with other perspective can be eye-opening and give you different perspective. You can grow thanks to it. If it's hate then block or report them, and make your life easier. But be open to others'perspective.
The rules of watching a drama are simple..watch what you enjoy and drop what you not enjoying..giving a review…
Even if you're forced to watch sth you still can gove constructive criticism. Some people, me included, who haven't seen SHS in such a whole want to give this show a chance. Maybe it will improve, I want to see. Meanwhile, just surrounding yourself with positivity on this page is pretty worthless to me.
Woah, fancy seeing an editorial on mdl. That aside, I've been wondering lately that I don't quite enjoy dramas that are subpar in terms of cinematography. It's the most apparent for me in terms of korean BL. So many of them just look so boring. It's harder for me to get into the mood when the cinematography is not there. So thank you for the article, I will surely look into these, they do look stunning!
