how hard is it to say "my mom got in an accident", they're doctors, they hear those words daily.. at worse he'd…
Oh yes, I agree all the way. This episode just made me very sad for everybody. Andrea for getting such a text from Gyeo Ul & his mom being sick, Jun Wan for learning that Ik Sun is in SK... All those things, so easily avoidable if they would only talk to each other...

I love slice or life genre. Being it a drama, anime or a book, things from this category are some of the best for me. My favourite korean movie is "Little Forest" and believe me when I say, almost NOTHING happens in terms of any plot developments. And that is okay, because I find the movie to be well thought-out, and relatable for me.

Then, after the long introduction, I must write about HP2 - and episode 7 was simply MEH. I watched it last night, and I don't even remember most that happened. I mostly remember that it was really heartbreaking for me to watch THRRE characters hung up on other for 1- 2 years (Min Ha, Ik Jun and Jun Wan). It's sooo freaking unhealthy. I can't imagine supporting my friend in such a long unrequited love. All of them confessed, and they're not some high school anime teenagers to be dreaming about one true love their entire lifes. Scenes of those pairs don't bring me joy, they bring me sadness for all that lost time they could have been happier together of separate.

And, as some of the comments already mentioned- why do we have to have a cliche failed engagement? I get that winter garden couple has to encounter huddles, but do we have to have it this way? And writing Andrea "I can't tell you what's happening, don't contact me?" No excuse for that. Not even when you have abusive parents. At least be in contact with him. Otherwise they will end up like Ik Sun and Jun Wan, keeping their stresses to themselves. I really don't appreciate such inconsiderate and cliche plots.

It just seems to me that writers had enough material for S1, and for S2 they just went with the flow - and this series lost it's charm for me. There were some stand outs this season (like ep 1 and 4) but I find myself more and more distanced from what's happening. It's not that I wait for more romance from the couples that aren't together - I just feel that they will get together at the very end of S2, and all of those episodes will just feel wasted for a cheap thrill at the end. At least winter garden had some growth throughout S1 - Song Hwa and Ik Jun have been on the same page this entire season, the same with Chu Chu couple - I don't see them developing, warming up to each other, nothing. Heck, we even had a time skip and nothing changed for ANYBODY - Song Hwa didnt realise she loves Ik Jun yet, Chu Chu couple didn't even go on a date, 1 attempt left, Jun Wan is just sitting there and getting more and more terminal kid patients, as if he wasn't suffering enough. I don't know what this season lacks, but I find S1 way superior unfortunately. I will be watching further, don't get me wrong, but it certainly is not the same as it used to be.

Honesty I feel bad fir Minah. I hope she ends up being chased by him and makes seok hyeong jealous or smth.
I honestly feel like it's a weird situation right now, considering that she didn't want to give up on him in ep 5, and then right after that we got a time skip. I really hope they had some development in the meantime, cause I feel bad that she has been pursuing him for such a long time (1,5 year? damn). But I guess we'll get more info on their relationship in the next episode.

Dude ,I’m still a little bit confused.Marriage after being together 1 year and a month?Huh?Why so fast?
At Andrea's age, it would seem weird if he dated without the intention to get married, considering his character. They both have a stable job and know what they want from life, there's actually no reason for them not to get married if they love each other. And age is one thing, but I think that religion is another. We already know that he's spending a lot of time at her place, and he probably would like to move in with her, but that would be against christian religion. Also, they worked with each other for more than 2 years, so it's not that they weren't acquaintances before they started dating, and had a lot of opportunities to see each other in different circumstances. Everyone's situation is a bit different, but I think this scenario does suit them as characters.

I think it was necessary for Suk min to go away. Cuz it made him realise that he is still lacking a lot in terms…
I'd agree, if he had more of a character arc this season. But I had no idea if he was even still a doctor or not, and a lot of people as well - when I asked about it here, I got answers that he's preparing to civil service exams. Like, in ep 6 I got info that he was probably too confident in the past - but I didn't see it, there was no build up, and therefore didn't see a change in his behaviour... It could have been a nice plot but it felt luckluster...

Ik-jun is probably "allowing" this because he knows his sister was in the wrong and his best friend deserves better.…
More like he couldn't even fight her on it... As she wasn't answering his calls and didn't mention that she's not in England anymore... Gosh, it's so unhealthy for him to be still hung up on her after such a long time, poor Jun Wan...

This episode had a lot of cool moments!
- As the Winter Garden simp I am, I squeaked when Andrea mentioned his plans for marriage! Go Winter Garden!
- I also low key love that this season gave us scenes of Jun Wan and Andrea living together. It's awesome to see their interactions as flatmates.
- The proposal scene was hilarious XD
- The theme of the episode - that it's ok to make mistakes - is also really great.
- I am so proud of all of our dear residents becoming fellows!

But, being the critical sucker I am (sorry, I just like to discuss both kinds of things, the good and the bad), I have some more thoughts:
- We finally learnt what Suk Min was doing the whole time. Is it just me, or did it feel unnecessary to make a mistery out of it? Kinda weird decision to move him in the first place, when it didn't change a thing and he came back not long after.
- The same with Song Hwa going to Sokcho branch. It had no impact on me to see her come back to Yulje, cause it seems like she was always there. I get that it was to show us that doctors have to take care of themselves, but I wish they developed the plot more, showed us some Sokcho cases or something. I just feel that we wouldn't lose anything if this plot was left out.
- Poor Jun Wan. Of course he can't get over Ik Sun after that break-up. The only thing keeping him away from her I feel is that he thinks that she is in England and she wasn't responding to his calls. But that's also the reason why he can't get over her. So sad that he didn't get a clean breakup. I hope he won't feel lonely for much longer, but I don't want for him to get back to her, I'm still mad...
- WHERE IS U-JU THIS SEASON ARE YOU KIDDING ME

But that overused plot is the one that closest to real life, isn't it? Most of the times, long distance couple…
I agree that difficulties with the long distance relationship being the reason for their break-up would be realistic. If Ik Sun presented it like this, I seriously wouldn't have a lot against it. But she covered it under a (presumably) fake reason of "falling in love with someone else". Besides, if LDR was the true reason for her, why wouldn't she admit to Jun Wan that she's back to Korea? That's why it seems that the breakup was due to overused plot of 'she felt that it's too hard for him being in the relationship, so she broke up giving a fake reason without even communicating and talking it out with him'.

its impressive how the writer can write such amazing romance developments (iksong, bear couple) but also f*ck…
Yup, I agree with you all the way. The way their relationship was handled in this season was so frustrating to me, especially when they were acting so maturely in S1. I know that Ik Sun has her fair share of problems with studies and health, but I can't imagine breaking up a serious relationship with (most probably) a lie. And the fact that they made her come back to Korea just a week after makes it even worse, like there's even less reasons to break up now... I just feel so bad for Jun Wan, I'd hate to be treated like him.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't want Jun-wan and Ik-sun to get back together. I liked them as a couple when they…
I agree. I feel so pissed about their break up right now and I don't want Jun Wan to be hurt any further. I want to see him with a person who will be willing to spend the rest of her life with him. I also love it when dramas show us that it's not like there's only 1 person you are bound to love in your entire life. But I think that we won't see it, cause a bit too late to introduce a new love interest for Jun Wan (at least in this season).

Yeah, Song-hwa is back at Yulje. She was only supposed to be gone a year, and she left sometime shortly before…
Yup, in the preview of the next episode they talked about March

Tell me what would I do to my broken heart for Iksun and Junwan. I can't wait weekly for it to be resolved gah
I don't even care as much that we have to wait a week between the episodes - but they made a 1-year time skip? Like what the hell, Jun Wan has been out there suffering from this awful, sudden break-up for 1 year already? Right now I'm just pissed at Ik Sun and the writers, she's back in the country and doesn't even have a proper talk with Jun Wan? What has he done to deserve it? Like even if she actually loves somebody else right now (which I don't believe) at least talk to him in person once you're back! And if you only broke up because of the long distance relationship, why can't you try again? I call bullshit, honestly... I'm not even sure if I want to see them back together...

Why did he leave the hospital and to where?
I was wondering about it as well, but I guess we didn't get a straight answer? Until the latest episode I actually thought that he was out studying for medical exam after his residency, but it doesn't seem so. I would love to know what actually happened, because it was implied through his fight with Sun Bin that it's because of money? (When she told him that she took neurosurgery because she wants to study brain, and he answered that it's what a wealthy person would say, or sth along those lines.) But then again, don't neurosurgeons earn quite a bit? No idea why he would change his career after being at the finish line of residency. Maybe cause it's too much work or sth. I can only guess.

So, Iksun just happened to know about her liver after receiving her blood test and xray results, which is after…
But relationship don't work like that... Relationships aren't made only for the good days. Even though you feel like you might put too much of a burden on your partner (here with the long-distance relationship), I believe that you should still talk to him about all of your concerns. Then he can decide how he feels about the relationship going forward.

Like, I can't even imagine if my boyfriend just suddenly called it quits through the phone, giving a bullshit explanation of loving someone else, when he told me that he loved me just a couple of days ago. It would just leave a scar in my heart, and it would torment me for a long time. Of course, she has the right to break up with him, but she should be honest about everything, listening to his side as well...

This is the problem that I usually have with some Kdramas tbh. That female leads with selfish, arrogant, and rude…
Oh yes, honestly the last episodes of Because This Is My First Life left such a bad taste in my mouth... I don't even come back to the scenes from the first episodes, which I enjoyed a lot. I just hate the FL.

I don't think Ik Jun knew his sister was dating his friend. The face he made when Ik Sun told him not to tell…
I think it was sometime in Season 1, soon after Ik Sun and Jun Wan got together

The preview is so foreboding. I really hope Gyeo-ul isn't sick or something. Ahn Jeong won says "tell me if anything…
I also feel like we shouldn't worry too much because this show tends to have very misleading teasers. Like the teaser for ep 3, when Andrea has a very concerned look on his face, and then it turns out that it's when he recalls the meeting between GS professors. I do feel like something will happen, but I don't think that it will be somehow bad for Winter Garden, maybe just some little obstacles for them along the way.

tbh when ik jun told ik sun about jun wan i thought he knew about them but after her phone call to him and then…
I'm wondering the same thing... Honestly I can't tell anymore. It could be that he knew and his final look during the phone call was because he realized that they broke up, but how would he realize that, if all she told him was "don't tell Jun Wan"?
