Are you kidding me? What moronic logic is this even? This is Kim Eun Sook and he's starring opposite Song Hye…
I'd actually rather he didn't star with Song Hye Kyo, cause I'm not fan of the chemistry she has with her co-stars (or lack thereof, in my opinion). But I can't blame Lee Do Hyun when he is just a starting actor who wants to earn money and will probably soon go to military, so he has to gain as much popularity as possible to ensure a comeback after finishing his service. Not the best time to choose only niche projects I'm afraid.
Probably unpopular opinion, but there are too many scenes with cells. I can't deny that they are funny, cute,…
Also I was spoiled in terms of who will Yumi end up with, and as much as I love spoilers (spoiled each husband in Reply series, don't regret it a bit), this time I feel like I'm just searching things in Woong to justify the upcoming breakup. I mean he is flawed, he is working a lot, gets sulky at times, but I don't want to hate him for it - if it was real life, I would forgive those things if I talked about it with my BF and if he apologized. (The only thing I can't stand is his relationship with Sae Yi, such a toxic friend). But I don't think he's THAT bad (as for ep 7) and that their relationship is just developing. But we'll see how it goes.
Probably unpopular opinion, but there are too many scenes with cells. I can't deny that they are funny, cute, really relatable, and the concept is definitely something unique - but it distracts me from the main human characters. It just truly feels like 2 seperate shows at times, and I just keep wanting to skip the cells scenes and cen't get fully immersed in the show.
I have had enough with Woongi clothes, I know he is supposed start-up wanna be look, but at-least given him some…
Really? I honestly thought that when they started dating he started to look very cool! Especially when he has full-length pants on, not shorts. The only thing I would change is the hairstyle haha
She is truly a chemistry queen, can't deny that. But I also admire the way she has been choosing her roles - I can't think of many actors who had roles in that many fantastic dramas (especially romcoms, as it's the biggest part of my watchlist). I really love what I've seen from her and I'm putting When the Weather is Fine as next drama on my watchlist.
you know, it makes sense that not all of your questions were answered in the final episode because hospital playlist…
Well, I have to disagree... In S2 we got plenty of forced dramatic situations. Ik Sun's and Jun Wan's break up being the prime example, followed by Song Hwa's confession after Ik Jun's accident. And to me it's no wonder that people were expecting more of a closure. As they say, if you hang a gun on the wall at the start of a movie, it better go off before the end. A lot of scenes were foreshadowed - Min Ha meeting Bear's mom once again, Winter Garden engagement, Andrea meeting Gyeul's mother. Others are just typical to expect - like how is Song Hwa going to adapt to being Uju's stepmother. Not everything has to be answered (like what happened in Hawaii), but I think it's not weird to expect some things.
The drama is a masterpiece but I wish to know more1) Remember in season 1 in one episode preview Seok Hyungs mom…
I totally agree that ep 12 definitely feels just like another weekly episode, not at all as a series finale... And I even feel like Ik Jun's words about them not playing together again were just for us to feel a bit nostalgic and don't make any particular sense. It's not like Reply 1988 that they moved from their neighbourhood, got jobs, families and will never come back there again. They are working together and in their 40s. Andrea moving to US for a year does not make it impossible to meet on the same basis ever again...
Now I am bit skeptical about season 3 whether it will happen or not.Now only junwan is remaining.Because all the…
My theory is that if they wanted to do S3, then the last scene of ep 11 would be the last scene of ep 12. If they wanted to create some tension before S3, they would have ended it like that. But if they're giving us a glimpse into what happens after the confessions, that's probably because they expect that we won't get more seasons. But that's just my thought.
Agreed with Jun-Wan/the womanizer. We have no idea why this relationship is supposed to be so special, and the…
I think it might be about Rosa and Andrea's older brother (played by Sung Dong Il)? If so, there's 9 years difference between them haha. But it's just played for laughs in the show.
Hot Stove League is fantastic. I love watching baseball-oriented content. A few years ago I got seriously into baseball anime, watched almost every single one, even though the sport is basically non-existant in my country and I had no idea about the rules xD Actually, anime is my way to go with sports content, but I haven't been keeping up with it as much lately. Sports dramas seem still very few and far between, at least those that caught my interest.
Does anyone remember the deal that Jeong Won and Gyeo Wool made before the time jump in regards to telling people…
I think Andrea is waiting for their engagement (now delayed), and for Gyeo Ul I'm not sure - her mom could be the reason, but even before that situation she was wandering whether to announce that she broke up with her boyfriend (due to many questions from her department), so it's true that she didn't want it announced. But then again, Jun Wan and Ik Sun kept their relationship a secret the whole time that they were dating, so I guess it's just drama logic.
This week's episode packed a lot in. I think the scene with Jae Hak discussing his childless marriage with Jun…
I was surprised that Jae Hak's wife could even get chemotheraphy during pregnancy, didn't know that was possible. I thought that she will have to give up on the child, so it's one good thing among all of the bad that are happening to their family. I'm still hoping that the guy who robbed them in S1 will be caught, they seriously don't deserve such a bad luck.
I feel like that's what slice-of-life should be like. You know like Friends. It's different in the way that Friends…
I also loved some of the songs - those from episode 3 and 4 are one of my favourites from HP so far! And "Superstar" was pretty cool as well. Also I do agree that it seems like a passage between season 1 and 3, I feel the same way you do.
Thank you for being so nice as well. I'm actually still tuning in to the show every week, but I guess like you said, S1 set my expectations a bit too high, that's why I'm complaining so much... But it's great that so many people enjoy the show! And it's cool to be able to exchange opinions, comments I read on MDL have really changed my perspective eyes multiple times.

Maybe what @enigmatic_zephy wrote might have sounded a bit harsh, but I agree that you shouldn't say that "it's almost like people don't understand what slice-of-life is". I do. I believe that most of the people who are here enjoyed S1 and know what slice-of-life is as well.
I believe that a slice-of-life show can be entertaining, and S1 showed us well enough that it's possible, whereas S2 feels like there's much less thought and passion put into it. Are we not supposed to critique any slice-of-life show for being boring?
In this season, there's a lot less humor, a lot less scenes of main 5, the way that the songs are put on the show seems forced, a lot of patient's stories don't have the same spark as in S1. And please consider that most of the love stories were started in S1 - no wonder that people expect some kind of resolution, as it's been around 2,5 years in show's time since the start of S1 (when we include the time-skip).
My main point is - we can appreciate nurse's stories, residents, ER stories, that's all great. I love slice-of-life dramat. But it doesn't mean it can't be well written at the same time, and a lot of people seem to think that S2 is lackluster. compared to S1.
This drama has a lot of characters and plots/subplots. They need to be balance and fair to their story, screentime,…
I don't really get the criticism that "what I'm complaining is very romance centric". The show was always romance centric. In S1, we got: - Ik Jun's divorce, story about an actress he once dated, his love towards Song Hwa, his confession - Song Hwa's boyfriend cheating on her, and her breaking up with him; her resident being in love with her & her rejecting him - Jun Wan breaking up with his girlfriend after she was drinking too much, then him falling in love and getting together with Ik Sun - Suk Hyung being pursued by Min Ha - Andrea being pursued by Gyeo Ul and wandering whether to choose her or priesthood
And that's just from the top of my mind.
To me, S1 had way more romance than this one actually XD So I don't get why I'm wrong for expecting development in this regard. We got a lot of development last season. When Jun Wan fell for Ik Sun, he confessed and didn't wait a long time for a response. The writers already showed us that we don't need to wait a whole season to get relationship development. And this season feels just like they are waiting to put all of it in the last episodes to create tension and drama, instead of sprinkling development around the whole season. Like Song Hwa is wandering for 1,5 year whether she loves Ik Jun or not? I don't know, but from my experience, if this was supposed to be realistic, than Ik Jun would probably give up on her long ago.
I'm sorry... But the past few episodes just felt like fillers to me, and especially this one... I really don't want to hate and be negative all the time, I know there wasn't a lot of development in S1 as well but I feel like this season is just forced... We get episodes that last nearly 2 hours, but why do I feel like nothing happens... - IkSong development was a really nice bit this episode. But it's just confirming that they will get together at the end of this season and all of those episodes were just wasted when we could watch their real development as a couple... - The same for Chu Chu couple... Their scene was so lovely... But why so late in the season... - Gyeoul's mother was hurt at the end of ep 7 if I remember well? We got whole two episodes with no development on that front? I get that she's confused, not ready to tell Andrea yet, and it's supposed to be realistic. But it's a tv show at the same time! It needs to be cohesive and not bore the viewers! There are other ways to show the viewers that she's hurt, other than dragging it so much! Just put more of her scenes into the episode! - Ik Sun and Jun Wan... The best example of my point... Seems like the writers didn't know what to do with them this season and that's the reason all the drama... Why did they break up if they were gonna reunite this way... Just for a suspense and emotional scene at the end of the season... I'm just at a loss - today's episode was so long. I just finished it. And I feel like there was no substance there. Not even patient's stories touched me this time. There were some enjoyable scenes, sure. But not enough to justify the runtime. I really hope something happens the next episode. I know I'm complaining a lot instead of just not watching it, but I every episode I have hope that the plot will take of and I'm just disappointed at the end... But I guess with 3 eps left, it will have to eventually.
