Rent a friend is actually the director’s first feature film which is impressive but the movie wasn’t anything extraordinary.

The characters were actually very likeable and real. I liked this realistic approach: no one is just black or white. Despite this, I would’ve loved to be able to get to know the characters more. Sometimes I felt like, especially with the male lead, that we didn’t know him that well.
The acting was so so good though! I loved all the characters because the actors portrayed them so well. Tokunaga Eri really makes Nasa a great female lead.

The plot itself is actually kinda slow, it’s more of a light watch. The second part of the movie was definitely more fast paced and the ending honestly left me confused. It had a semi-open ending so I think it’s up to the viewers to interpret it the way they want it to.

Rent a friend is supposed to be the story that questions whether a man and a woman can really be just friends? Some people wouldn’t actually really bother to ask this question, because “yes” seems so obvious. However I think this is a really thoughtful idea especially for the Asian public. I was surprised to know that in Japan or east asian countries people generally think that the opposite gender won’t meet with the idea of just friendship.

It’s ironic how the movie is taking up this theme but the leads still have romance between them. Actually more than this, it’s also about seeing one’s real self.. “I see the real you” is what Nasa is conveying in the story; she sees Sota as a person not just a rental friend or a experiment like her boss does.

Finally what I absolutely loved about the movie was the atmosphere. The cinematography had old-school and vintage vibes that bring out the rawness of the movie and put the focus on the characters emotions.

Overall, Rent A Friend’s strong point isn’t the extraordinaty storyline but its realness, simplicity, the meaning that it carries and the unique feeling that it has that makes us love jmovies.

Healing getaway from everyday life

A calm, heartwarming, healing and comforting reality show from Day6 Even of the day, that brought me so much joy over these past few weeks and really helped me through a tough time. This show is just a relaxing collection of Day6’s time off in the countryside, there’s nothing big going on but that’s what makes this show intimate and healing. The trio naturally has such good chemistry that they make every moment entertaining.

If you are a MyDay (or want to get to know Day6 better) and want something refreshing and relaxing to tune into every once in a while, I’d highly recommend this show.

I first started watching Together with Me because of the good reviews. I actually enjoyed it a lot but there were some things that I would've liked to see.

First of all the plot was very typical of BL series but I think it was still nice and overall well paced. However I would've liked to get more scnenes with the main couple because they were really cute. I felt that the story was focused more on the friend group rather than just the main couple which was amazing sometimes but also I felt like there were some unnecessary characters or scenes. It definetly got slower during the end and a bit dragged in my opinion as well. Also there were some questions left unanswered but since this has a sequel I think that's okay.

I loved Yihwa's character the most out of everyone to be honest, because she was the one with the most common sense. Towards the middle and the end, the main couple did some stupid things so some viewers could get frustraed with that. I also loved P'Bright and Farm's storyline in the beginning but I felt like they could've given them a better ending.
The cast was really good and the chemistry between the actors was enjoyable was well!

My verdict is that if you love BLs then this is probably a good drama for you since it has all the typical themes from BL dramas. If not then I would maybe skip but if you can give this a try!

“If I have a next life I want to be... a ring, a pair of glasses, a bed and a notebook. So that I can always accompany you.”

The concept if this movie makes for great melo however there were a few elements that could’ve been better.

I liked the storyline. But the story was too unevenly paced. In the first few minutes we get to know half of the story already. There were also a few plot holes in my opinion and sometimes it was confusing and hard to understand why some characters acted the way they did.

I liked that it was bittersweet. K is afraid to be honestly with Cream because he’s scared that she will leave her and wants her to live a better life with someone more “capable” than him. Cream is also afraid to confront K about her feelings for him because she is comfortable in her relationship with. You can see that these characters had traumas in their past that affected their relationship. I liked how these characters were real, they were flawed and thus the ending is not magical but heart wrenching.

The actors did a great job, even the supporting actors! To be honest I started watching this movie because of Japser Liu but no one disappointed. I think the cast could’ve given a better performance if the writing would’ve been better.

The cinematography was so beautiful in this movie. It’s definitely one of its strong points.

Overall it’s a good melodramatic movie and I would recommend if you like this genre or the actors. It’s a shame that the writing was confusing sometimes.

Moment at Eighteen was a beautiful story that surprised me with the various themes it brought up. I originally watched it because of the romance, but it had much more to offer.

The beginnig was especially strong and each episode was action packed and left the viewers craving for more. Naturally, as it progressed it also slowed down in the middle and focused more on the two main characters' relationship and the unfolding romance. Despite this, in the last episodes it picked up the inital speed and vibe and the ending was really nice.
Moment at Eighteen captured perfectly the feeling of growing up and I got attached to the charcters and their stories. The ending feels like saying goodbye to an old friend and somehow feels nostalgic.
There were various themes in this drama such as the portrayal of the different parent-child relationships (both good and bad), the feeling of first love, the pressure that students face to become studying machines just to get into universities and even lgbt topics!

The acting was amazing! Ong Seong Wu did a beautiful job with his character (knowing that this is his acting debut!) and I could feel sincerely connected to his character. Everyone else in the cast was amazing too and there were so many unique characters. I have to highlight Kang Ki Young, who is seriously one of the best actors right now, his character was probably my favourite.

I really loved the OST as well, it mirrored perfectly the feeling and gave a great ambiance to the drama.

Overall this drama made me very emotional at times and made me laugh too. It filled me with warmth and made me fall in love with the charcters. It's definetly a school drama that everyone can enjoy and relate to regardless of their age.
