i just want to start off by saying this is one of if not my favorite rom-com drama. usually rom-coms give me second-hand embarrassment, making me cringe 99.99% of the time. because of this, i usually skip scenes or avoid the whole genre completely. however, "the romance of tiger and rose," is so different. it's just cute?? and adorable?? AGHH i just want to smash my keys because i can't describe how cute this drama is. not only that, i'm positive that i laughed on almost every episode. the script is just SO entertaining, and the cast knows exactly how to execute it. although i giggled and smiled a lot, i know i cried once or twice too. this drama definitely secured a spot in my "favorite dramas" list with the amount of dopamine that it made my brain release!

STORY:
this drama starts off with chen qian qian riding a horse in the middle of the streets in hua yuan city (a place where females were superior to males). she meets han shuo, instantly finding herself attracted to him. she orders him to be her husband, and the scene switches to xiao qian (qian qian) and min xing (han shuo) in the modern world. while sick xiao qian is writing her script, she faints (i thought it was hilarious/adorable when she stuffed a tissue in her nose). she suddenly wakes up with her being the notorious qian qian. xiao qian (i'm going to call her qian qian from now on) ends up changing her fate, making her the new main character (chu chu, her sister, was supposed to be the female lead in her script). from then on marks qian qian and han shuo's journey as a pair. they bicker, fight, and plot against each other (han shuo literally tried to kill her multiple times, but the way qian qian deals with it is just hilarious). even then, the two still tolerate, protect, and love each other (han shuo realized he loved her WAY before qian qian was aware of her feelings). they're met with multiple misunderstandings, but in the end, they always resolve it. i extremely loved this aspect of the drama, as they didn't let little misunderstandings ruin AND run the whole drama (like most dramas do). while i was watching this drama, i definitely envied han shuo's love for qian qian. he tolerated her in so many ways. even wearing a copper bracelet to prove his love for her to her mom (it doesn't really sound like a big deal, but in xuanhu city (where han shuo is from), only maids/servants wear those types of bracelets). he never gave up on qian qian, even after multiple rejections/signs from her.
[there's still a lot more to say, but it's 3 AM, and my brain is frazzled. i'll add to this when i have more brain cells]
the ending was a bit rushed, but it still managed to end perfectly. happy ending for these two <333

ACTING:
10000000000/10
i can't imagine a different cast. i extremely love zhao lu si, and the fact that she portrayed qian qian with perfection is just ASFJAFHA *chefs kiss*. ryan ding also did AMAZING as han shuo. personally, i haven't watched many of his works, but i definitely will in the future. these two also had indescribable chemistry. i not only want but NEED these two to star as leads in another drama together. can i just praise the supporting characters for a second. zi rui and bai ji definitely made this drama more golden than it already was. i actually can't stop smiling when zi rui talks (pure comedy i swear). i also feel for chu chu. as much as i disliked her, she just wanted affection from her mom (i adored her btw. the love and tolerance that she had for qian qian's bs is just <333). speaking of love, i really wanted yuan yuan and su mu to get together. AGHHH su mu stop sacrificing yall's relationship because you think it's what's best for yuan yuan! i just wanted to end this by saying that i extremely disliked pei heng. he was annoying. i applaud to him and his love for qian qian though :'/

MUSIC:
honestly, a lot of people didn't like the songs. i can't really say the same though. i loved all of the songs that this drama played (especially chuan wen (the ending song)) except for the intro song. it wasn't my cup of tea, but i refuse to let that drag this gem's rating down.

REWATCH VALUE:
UHH YES???? i'm going to rewatch this thing a billion times KSFJASHF. when i tell you i loved it, i LOVED it. like every single second. the leads made everything so CUTE IOAFAOIFJ. i already downloaded all of the episodes, and i plan on making a fmv soon (i probably will after this review).

in all, i absolutely loved everything about this drama. please give us a season 2! or 3! or just another drama! i don't care, as long as zhao lusi and ryan ding can work together again (ok maybe i care a little as i love the characters that they played. orange x banana forever!)

a lighthearted drama with a confusing ending

writing this review right after i finished, and my heart kind of hearts hahhasha

STORY:
welp, gotta say that i loved it. even though the ending was a bit confusing. i laughed a lot, cried a lot, and got mad a lot. it was an emotional roller coaster for me hahdah.

ACTING/CAST:
have to be honest, i'm completely biased towards the three main leads. i absolutely loved ju jing yi (yun xi) in novoland: castle in the sky along with zhang zhe han (fei ye) and yalkun merxat (qi shao) in demon girl. i have to give it to qi shao when it comes to the best out of those three. he moved me to tears ;(

MUSIC:
I. LOVE. THEM. SO MUCH. especially the ending song. i'd watch the outro in every episode because i loved it so much.

REWATCH VALUE:
i'll definitely come back to this when i miss ning jing and tang li or xi feng and qi shao's right hand woman. lastly, for qi shao when im in need of some second lead syndrome hahah.

okay plot with a heart wrenching ending

honestly, it took me a while to finish this drama. after i got to episode 19, i put it off for a month and then rushed to finish it, not because it was so good, but because i wanted to get it over with. i have to say though, i wasn't in a rush to finish the last couple of episodes. during episode 57 and 58, i was crying from start to finish, all thanks to rong qi.

STORY:
ehh. the plot started off so nice, but it got super boring and draggy. and whew wu you's screen time in this... i got so tired of him showing up every 10 seconds that i had to skip some parts.

ACTING:
rong qi... my favorite character in this whole show. he was so selfless for man yao, and his ending tore my heart apart. the sacrifices he made for her, the love he gave her, his life that he gave her... i was left heartbroken. i had to watch the last two episodes twice because my heart couldn't handle it the first time. before i knew about him and man yao's story, i was already intrigued by him. his past and the six months he spent with man yao were so captivating; they instantly became my favorite scenes in this show. not to mention, his chemistry with the female lead outsold. i also loved ning qian yi. i rooted for him and the princess a lot. even though his character took a whole turn towards the end, i would still call him one of my favorite characters in this. then there's fu chou... he was neglected as a child and grew up with only hatred in his heart, yet he managed to love rong le. bearing the harsh words and criticism thrown at him just to be with her. he's a very perplex character.

MUSIC:
pretty good :) i especially love 紅塵微燙.

REWATCH VALUE:
not going to rewatch for anyone but rong qi. just thinking about his ending makes my heart ache. luo yunxi really did god's work with his acting here. when will my baby boy ever get the female lead after sacrificing everything for her? (cough ashes of love)

a strayed plot with a confusing ending paired with amazing acting

this drama was very long compared to other dramas. and to be honest, i did skip quite a lot (scenes without yi huan and kang xi sksks).

STORY:
i loved everything but the ending :'( i'm so confused and frustrated, as i don't know what happened to yi huan and why it happened. other than that, i thought this drama was amazing. it, without a doubt, made me laugh loudly, and unquestionably made me cry my eyes out. definitely an emotional roller coaster <:(

ACTING:
a!m!a!z!i!n!g! honestly didn't expect anything less out of yang zi after legend of white snake and ashes of love (both are amazing dramas by the way). this was my first time seeing qin jun jie act (kind of second. ive skimmed through legend of chusen (for yang zi) and saw him a few times but didn't pay attention), and he was honestly amazing. whenever he got angry, it blew me away, as it seemed so real. honestly loved kang xi's tolerance and love for yi huan along with jian qing's selfless love and care for yi huan.

MUSIC:
loved. it. i almost never skipped the intro because i loved the song so much haha.

REWATCH VALUE:
will definitely watch it again when i miss yang zi and jun jie's cute moments. don't know if i'll watch the last episode though x(

hmm where shall i start? honestly,,,,, this was the perfect drama for me. when i look for a drama, i always look for a hate to love kind of relationship. gu yan zheng and xie xiang definitely gave me that :)

STORY:
ookie. well for one, the romance was definitely not a big focus here. we did not get a single kiss ): however, i do feel like gu yan zheng's antics: his jealousy, protectiveness, possessiveness, and love for xie xiang compensated for the lack of "romance." it was present in almost every episode that i didn't even realize we never got a kiss until i read a comment. still, i think xi kai and bai lu's chemistry was so perfect that it was unnoticeable. i love that they enrolled in the same academy, shared a room together, participated in missions together, and there's so much more. everything about them was loveable. gu yan zheng's protective scenes were my favorite scenes <'3 also, huang song, li wen zhong, and sergeant guo's death kind of got to me :( although i knew huang song was going to die (accidentally read a spoiler), his death scene was so saddening. especially since he was always selfless and sweet to others. li wen zhong's death hit me like a truck. i think his character development was one of the best. he went from a spoiled little childe to a true soldier. i'm just sad him and an wen couldn't become a thing at the end. (i was screaming "please don't forget about him!" the whole time during the tomb scene). on a good note, i really loved qu man ting! she was so badass and didn't let anyone bully her. (the scene when she slapped the girl that kept splashing water on her when they were filming was iconic). i tried so hard to hate her at the beginning because i thought she was going to be evil and manipulate the male lead like every second female lead. however, she's completely different. i'm so glad she ended up with shen ting bai.

ACTING:
applause to the whole cast. especially to xu kai and bai lu.

MUSIC:
the beginning ost is so hype :). i have mixed feelings about the ost that always comes up when something sad happens, however, i really enjoyed the ending ost.

REWATCH VALUE:
definitely going to rewatch this a million times when i miss the cast. this drama is not my second favorite drama (after ashes of love). i already have post drama depression :(. i feel like the ending was bit rushed but that could be just me not wanting it to be over. and to be honest, i already want to go back and watch it again. however, i spent my whole saturday (literally all day and night) finishing this up. i remember when i started it on the whim on tuesday night, i couldn't put it down. i kept watching till it was 4 am, and i had school in two hours. after the end of every episode, i kept going, “hmm, another one..." finished “wait wait on more” finished “nahnah one more” finished "ok last one" finished, and the cycle repeats. every episode was intriguing, and bai lu and xu kai's constant bickering made it even better.

this review is kind of rushed due to the fact that it's almost 12 am, and i'm tired (even though all i did was binge watch this drama). if you need more information, message me. i'd be glad to talk to you about this drama x)
