In the end, no one was held truly responsible similar to the true story. With the statue of limitation being over,…
that's the same as what happened irl. they only found out he was the murderer when he was in jail for another crime. the police and detectives who had been corrupt and caused loads of issues throughout also didn't get held accountable. it sucks, i think the statute of limitations should be abolished tbh :/
can't believe his sister, threw away her brother's bond so easily for a man who threw her away originally because he was ashamed and didn't want to ruin his successful image. absolutely detestable. i think tae joo should have just told her who it was that basically killed her fiance, but i guess he had no evidence for the fact. the prosecutor is just a complete scumbag.
i know this is a fictional account but it's very similar to how a lot of the cases went irl.. and how corrupt the police were back then. there was one detective irl in charge of the original investigation who stayed faithful to the whole investigation throughout, and was shocked when he learned about the actual killer. i think tae joo is based on him.
anyway i'm glad we get to see im seok man finally being released (similar to the real life case, once the killer had confessed to everything he was freed - i believe he testified in court so the one who was put there could be let go..) i'm wondering though whether they'll cover the real killer's "final victim," that landed him in jail eventually. the sister-in-law who was his wife's sister who he raped and murdered in 1994. i guess they have to expose how he was eventually arrested after all....
I am glad then that you didnt see ML in 100 Memories lmao that was terrible script and terrible role and he was…
ah no lol, i dropped that after ep 1 or 2 because i couldn't stand it, it was terrible. but i don't remember him much from it so i don't think i saw enough of him! i think i dropped most of the dramas he was supporting role in (because of the scripts or it just wasn't for me) so this is the first time i've seen him properly :D and a good choice of drama it was!
episode 4 definitely solidified how much i love this drama, i think it's one of my current faves! i had no expectations for the leads at first as i hadn't really seen the actor in any major role before but my god, these two have such good chemistry! am so excited for the future eps!!
this episode was so so hard to watch, unbelievable. i cannot believe what those trashy piece of sh!t detectives and the asshole prosecutor got away with so far.. and then the real killer hypocritically crying and shouting at tae joo - i just was so angry!! what an absolute psycho :'( the poor victims..... my god
the reveal was made so well, I was in literal shock... they clearly stated this is only inspired by the real case…
well it's true they probably have mixed things around a bit, but apparently the guy who was wrongfully convicted and put in jail for 20 years was actually a guy who had polio in childhood
" the serial killer was sentenced to life in 1994 for killing his sister in law " - Episode 1 yeah sucksepisode…
I think it was his (ex) wife's sister irl but they could change things up here, who knows.. it looks like ep 8 is gonna be super heavy and sad regardless
So he never got punished for the serial murders because of the law there?
yeah because of the statute of limitations sadly. i really think for murder and such this kind of law is ridiculous as there should be no time limit for something so terrible! the real killer is in jail for raping/murdering his sister in law but he cannot be legally tried for the other crimes now..
So far I'm liking this a lot more than I expected considering I'm picky when it comes to crime dramas! Dylan Wang and Pan Yue Ming work together really well, I love their dynamic so far haha.
i relate to the leads so damn much omg. all the people who hated on dongman just really didn't understand him tbh. i spent so much time thinking about this drama and how i actually get what kind of person he is and it made me realize how i totally get why he feels the way he does (and in turn lashes out at the people who make him feel that way). it's definitely a coping mechanism for anxiety :( i just hope both he and eun-a can heal each other, bc they sure need it!
