Please forgive my question from usa.I was curious as to how popular one Asian actor was in another asian country? For…
I doubt she's as popular as she was in the 90s and early 2000s. She's not as active in the business either, mostly doing support roles once in a while.
"I shall look back on having loved.." Ahhh this film was right up my alley. This is one of those blockbuster epic romances that span across borders and decades. The grandeur, the era it was set in, the cinematography, and direction. It sucked me right in, like I was right there soaking in the summer heat. The electrifying chemistry between the leads from the way they looked at each other, the kisses, the sex... that passion and yearning. Nakayama Miho and Nishijima Hidetoshi were so so sexy and beautiful together. I felt all the emotions they went through. I loved everything about this. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL, ESPECIALLY ROMANCE LOVERS.
If you're expecting a fluffy old woman / younger guy story, then this isn't for you. I must admit I was expecting a Nojima Shinji level of dark drama but this wasn't as dark as the comments made it seem. But yes, every character in this drama is either messed up or broken in some way. I didn't like any character other than the ML but that's what made it even more interesting for me. Itagaki Rihito was quite the revelation with his fantastic performance as a damaged, lonely soul, and I'd recommend watching this for him. Special mention for the ominous score, and framing / direction. That elevated the drama and was impactful. It wasn't Ohku Akiko's best writing but it was decent enough. I enjoyed it.
I get chills every time I think about the fact that the first filmography credit in his 20s is Shijukara. Amazing.…
Watching Shijukara currently and damn I had no idea he was capable of being that good. He's always played such fluffy, cute characters in the other dramas I've seen him in. Like I'm so damn impressed.
This man never fails to make me laugh. Gotta watch this for him.

Also the ending could have been so much better

But then again, I always prefer Japanese originals / adaptations over Korean ones..
How I wish they'd do another drama together again.
