Finally I got to watch a nice, respectable and charming male lead in a jdrama 😌
Randomly clicked on this page and thought of recommending you some J dramas with sweet MLs if you're still interested lol. There are more but these are the ones I remember -
Kimi no Te ga Sasayaite Iru Neechan No Koibito Koi Desu: Yankee-kun to Hakujou Garu Okaeri Mone Takane No Hana Colourful Love Risou No Kekkon Fight Song Higuma Horimiya Uchi no Otto wa Shigoto ga Dekinai
A compelling drama depicting the resilience of human spirit in a fucked up world, played by the wonderful Ikeda Elaiza. Writing, direction and acting were stellar. I do wish this was longer. Her character is a fighter all the way and my heart ached for her physical and emotional trauma. All she ever wanted was to be a boxer but the bigger fish in the sea wouldn't let her have it. And so begins her journey against the unjust. Highly recommended for all, especially those who love a strong female character story.
C'mon, this deserved to be a full fledged series, it was freaking hilarious and heartwarming. I absolutely love this trope of swindler-being-swindled + found family. Japan once again proves that you can deliver a good story even when keeping it short. Highly highly recommend this short gem for all.
A unique, haunting and disturbing and film carried by phenomenal performances from the 3 leads, tackling some…
The shallowness and insensitivity of society has long been projected in films across the world but in this case, can you blame the way people viewed Fumi even though he didn't necessarily do anything wrong to Sarasa? Can we truly believe the words of a minor or even an adult who has been 'kidnapped' in the eyes of world who is sympathetic towards her alleged 'abuser'? At the same time, having viewed the whole thing, your heart breaks for both of them because they would never truly be free whether together or apart because she'll be a victim for the wrong reasons and him an abuser, while the real abuser such as the cousin and boyfriend walk scot-free because they were in a 'normal' situation that can be easily categorized both legally and morally as either right or wrong.
A unique, haunting and disturbing and film carried by phenomenal performances from the 3 leads, tackling some really controversial topics such as sexual abuse, violence, "kidnapping", pedophilia etc. This is not a film for the weak-hearted or people who have been subject to the kind of trauma stated above because it depicts a story unheard of. For those who can take it, this is a brilliant film with A1 actors, direction, script and score. I felt so much anger, discomfort, helplessness and sadness watching this.. it seriously broke my heart. And I will say this at the cost of sounding like a broken record, only Japan could have the guts to tell stories like this.
It's one of the most romantic Taiwanese drama. Best friends to lovers story.
