Don’t quite follow YD’s reasoning in her conversation with YM. She said she understands YM hiding her past was so that she could live a carefree and happy life. But… YY did the same thing! And he did it also so she wouldn’t die. I know she didn’t write her lines, but it’s frustrating. Then she forgives her sister really easily! Her sister used her to save herself!
I’ll just convince myself that the reason she only makes a special case for YY and doesn’t forgive him because she loves him so much. She can’t forgive YY wiping her memories because despite all the awful things she’s been through, they were their memories and a love she never wanted to forget.

He’s YD’s best friend and a black fish, the sole descendant of the nine fins (something like that 😅) clan, an important clan who were all killed in the last demon war. He’s important so he keeps his identity secret. I think he has the potential to be king of the seas but he doesn’t want to be.
Someone else can correct me on the specifics, that’s all I gathered, but I fast forwarded a lot of the sea politic scenes!

That looks like the final battle, she says something like ‘please look at me, I’ve given you my whole heart.’ But it’s because his demon side has taken over and she wants him to remember her and turn back into YY.
By that point it looks like they are fighting together and are openly in love.
I think she’ll understand his position better in part 2 😭 whenever it comes, hopefully soon like tomorrow…

They’ve said many times YY is important to the peace and existence of the three realms. Without him the world will be chaos. He doesn’t love the three realms above her, he protects the three realms because he loves her.
The end of part 1 - the FL found a backbone. My problem with it; the character wouldn't need it if it wasn't for…
If by strong FL you mean you only like tv shows with female fighters you have Fuyao with Yang Mi or The Legends with Bai Lu. There are plenty of them.
Yang Zi tends not to take martial arts roles, presumably as they are physically demanding or she doesn’t like them.
I would also argue YD is not a weak FL here. Yes, physically she’s weaker than the ML, but she is smart, capable and quick witted. If I were to make an analogy with western tv, I would say she’s a character in the same mould as Elizabeth Bennet. And nobody says Elizabeth Bennet isn’t a strong female lead.

Also, CY’s Weibo today says that Immortal Samsara is about to be renewed (maybe updated is better translation?). Hope everyone is enjoying it! 🤔
But also, why would Cheng Yi say TZ is going offline now when in the last episode in part 1 he’s still alive and we know there are plenty of unaired scenes with him?
That and the big epilogue at the end makes me think the show will take a hiatus. I hope I’m wrong. That ending was so annoying! How could she simultaneously realise YY loves her and yet leave me so distraught and unhappy by deciding she’s done with him?
